This place is definitely a guilty pleasure of mine. Most people try to compare it to Applebee's, but there's a reason they have half price appetizers and dollar drinks. Every single time I come to chili's the service is down to earth and my food is hot and looks just like the picture on the menu. I always start with a triple dipper featuring the southwest egg rolls, big mouth bites and the honey chipotle chicken crispers. A great appetizer that never lets me down and when I come by myself it's my entree(: The Blue Goose coconut limeade is my favorite drink to order. This limeade is a little dangerous because it doesn't taste like any alcohol is in it. Since I had to share the appetizer this time I ordered the Cajun chicken pasta to share as well. It was great as usual, I just wish I had enough for dessert. If I did I would've ordered the molten chocolate cake. It's soooo good and very satisfying....maybe next time.

Chain restaurants aren't my thing. I love the small local dives that have a unique eclectic feel. Some work pals suggested an impromptu lunch at Chili's so off we went on a slow weekday. We signed up for some club deal and got free chips. We also were in time for the lunch menu and there were some good deals still available. Because of miscommunication on our end, we stayed longer than we intended but the server did not mind that we were taking up a table. She was very nice and helpful. I appreciated her patience with us. I was surprised by the options available for lunch. There were many items offered and Chili's even had a combo meal deal for lunch. It was difficult to pick a selection. We did not have to wait long for our food, either. The food was good and fresh. I had no problem with quality or tastefulness. There was also plenty of food, too. Everyone in our group enjoyed their meal and commented on the quality. The atmosphere was nice and inviting. The restaurant was not very crowded when we were there. We had no trouble getting promptly seated. The booths were spacious and you did not feel crammed into a small table space. Parking was easy since you park in a private lot in front of the restaurant. Easy access which is something I always look for in an establishment. This was a positive dining experience. It was delicious and comfortable. Great way to pass the time with good friends.

OK, up until the unfortunate things that happen with Roseanne Barr I was a true fan of the Roseanne show and one of the statements that I heard her sister Jackie say in an episode was called "hoodoggie" and every since that has been a word that I have used to describe when somethings surpasses my expectations and gives me a wow factor that I haven't had in a while. First of all let me say Chili's is not the place that I would originally go to technically it's not my kind of place but I get these moments where I want to have a different type of Tastebud sparked and so on this particular day I decided to order their Caribbean shrimp salad and their molten lava cake with ice cream. And I have to say they get a straight up Hoodoggie from me!!!! My Caribbean shrimp salad was so flavorful they didn't skip on the shrimp either it has plenty of shrimp vegetables fresh pineapple it was absolutely delicious and to top it off with a beautifully moist chocolatey molten lava cake what a nice amount of vanilla ice cream just tipped the scale into hoodoggie land. I will definitely come back to Chili's to try some more of their wonderful food. Not too many places have gotten The Hoodoggie stamp of approval, I just hope that chili's can live up to holding onto that title, because just as easily as I can give it, I can easily take it away, so Chili's don't let me down.

I love the black bean burger and Chili's and the Long Island is fantastic. My only complaint is that the menu is so stressful to look at. The font is so small, I would've brought my glasses and taken an extra adderall if I had known this.

When you are ready to leave, they bring you a handwritten check listing the items you ordered and only one number: the total cost of the bill without any itemization. In addition, the restaurant has no website. You cannot be sure of what is currently on the menu without going to the restaurant. They do have a Facebook page, but it does not provide the restaurant's current menu and can be misleading. For example, some of last year's Facebook entries say that they have introduced some new seafood items, such as Aguachile Verde o Rojo and Ceviche. But when we were there, we were informed that those seafood items are seasonal and only on the menu in the summer. We very much enjoyed our dinner there. The dining room is very attractive and large with comfortable booths and a full bar. We were particularly impressed to find that the bar has Corona Nonalcoholic beer. Most Mexican restaurants in Lawrence do not have any nonalcoholic beers, despite their rapidly increasing popularity. The service was excellent as was the food. Since we are pescatarians, we cannot have Mexican rice, which contains chicken stock. But they were happy to substitute black beans for the rice. We got the Filete De Pescado and the Enchiladas Popeye. The Enchiladas Popeye were a bit heavier on cream sauce than we would have preferred, but otherwise were very good. The Filete De Pesado was impressive including two large, thick filet of fish, which were very tasty. In addition to the salsa provided with the chips, I would recommend ordering one of their excellent hot sauces. We got both the tomatillo hot sauce and the habanero hot sauce. I especially liked the tomatillo hot sauce. As expected, the habanero was very hot, unless mixed with the salsa. The restaurant is next door to Set 'Em Up Jack's and is also in the same strip mall in East Lawrence as Moriki Sushi. Needless to say, both of those restaurants have web sites and provide printed checks. If this restaurant were to do the same, I would most certainly change my rating of this restaurant from 4 star to 5 star.

My wife could not eat any of her meal because she is vegan and has allergies to dairy. She was served and charged for the wrong meal!!! We felt like we were being discriminated against because are white. The food we did get was greasy and very bland. We give this restaurant an F for service and quality. I asked for the manager and the people said we have no manager. I called them 4 times later on the phone and they hung up on me each time as soon as I asked for the manager or owner.

We were looking for Mexican food (from out of town) and saw this place which looked fantastic from…read morethe outside. Was greeted and sat fairly quickly. The table was "wiped", but had food behind and under the table settings, on the floor was trash. Wife and I ordered house marg's and 1 served in a pint glass, what ever, I can get passed that. Usually, going with the house marg is a safe bet. Well, these were watered down, no taste of tequila. It honestly tasted like watered down lemon lime gatorade. The queso and salsa were good. I had the Carnitas Chimichanga with traditional sides. The chimichanga was soggy, the meet was not "carnitas". It was cubed up something with tomatoes. The beans looked like and tasted they stayed under the heat lamp for 30 min before being served. I didn't eat more than a 1/4 of the meal. Wife had mahi tacos, but he fish was dry and flavorless. Daughter had the shredded beef chimichanga and hers was soggy and bland. Her boyfriend had the El Cazador (which was the waiter's favorite) and he cleaned his plate. Overall not impressed with this place, and if had just been the drinks or one of the dishes, I'd chalk it up to an off night. With the whole experience though from cleanliness, drinks and food, going to keep driving by next time we are in town.
