Early dine in country fried sirloin
    Christina J.

So much has changed in the hospitality industry since Covid. But not Texas Roadhouse. Wonderful service and generous, hot, delicious comfort menu including great value early dine-in specials. Clean, well managed, personable staff and great food. It's so great to have a real restaurant experience where the staff know service and the manager touches each table. Plus hot rolls with lovely butter.

Bbq sauce needs to be. Colder it is to warm and food did not come fast enough and that is why I left 2 star review

Always good. Just gets really loud on the weekends. So tried a week night, much better for conversation.

Service and food was great but too much salt on steak and shrimp. Otherwise, the food was good.

A reliable option in-town. I recommend getting steaks Pittsburg style--more time getting a good sear, and still the same internal doneness.

Pros: The rolls are amazing. Friendly waitstaff. Open late. Cons: Salad was mostly cheese. Lots of cheese. Not a lot of lettuce.

It opens at 4 pm, but the restaurant's website still says 11 am. I do not understand why it has taken so long for the restaurant to update its website. There also have been changes to the menu. The new menu includes Branzino (European Sea Bass). It is an interesting choice, but arrives frozen. I prefer the salmon, which arrives fresh. I similarly would prefer trout to the Branzino, since trout would be available fresh in Lawrence. They have a choice of a few different nonalcoholic beers. I appreciate that. The nonalcoholic beer market has grown dramatically, even in Germany. I find it to be puzzling that some restaurants in Lawrence still don't have any.

Very bland no flavor with some sort of red sauce came out with it on the plate which tasted like A-1 sauce and ketchup mixed toy. Horrible flavor. They put the steak in the broiler, to be honest it looked like it was microwaved. Zero char. They took it back and put grilled marks in it and it still didn't come out right. I even asked out waiter if I could go back and cook my own steak. Then they tried to fix it with bringing me out another Ribeye and not the same Cowboy Cut . Grilled it also . With marks and not even a decent crust . They say they cut their own meet . Maybe at the grocery store . HUGE disappointment. Maybe just turn it into a bar with drinks and appetizers. Service was decent our waiter tried his hardest to get it done right Z even the manger came out and tried to make it right but at this point I wasn't interested in having a crappy steak . I do have to say the place had a nice atmosphere l. Do yourself a favor and go someplace else . Save yourself for over paying for crap meat .

The restaurant itself is beautiful inside -- a cozy mix of rustic and modern that creates a really inviting atmosphere. Service started a little slow, though our waitress became more attentive once she came by. We mentioned it was our first visit, so I was a bit surprised there wasn't much guidance on the menu or any recommendations. At one point I asked about the two kinds of fries (I love fries!), and the explanation was simply that they were "fancy fries," without much detail on flavors or differences. We started with drinks and the Brussels sprouts appetizer. The sprouts were actually very good, with a nice balance in the sauce, and both the wine and sangria were refreshing. Unfortunately, dinner is where things went downhill. Our meals -- a steak and a gluten-free chicken sandwich -- took about 45 minutes to arrive, which felt long for relatively simple dishes. I had asked about the gluten-free bun since they can sometimes be dry, but didn't receive much insight beyond "it's gluten free," and sadly it was indeed very dry. The chicken itself lacked flavor, though the goat cheese cilantro sauce helped make it somewhat enjoyable. The fries looked homemade and delicious but arrived cold. The steak was cooked as requested, but it didn't have much flavor beyond the mushrooms on top. The broccoli side was tasty, and the potatoes were good, though it on a bed of Some kind of cheese sauce that wasn't quite to our liking. Overall, the space and gluten-free availability were promising, and the appetizers and drinks were enjoyable, but the food execution and service details didn't quite meet expectations for us this visit.

We had the Elotes corn dip for appetizer both times, we think it's delicious and different. We split some truffle potato leek soup and thought it was delicious too. My son had the 16 ounce ribeye, which was superb. The last time he had the mac & cheese monger and added grilled chicken, I thought it was OK, not something I'd order because did not seem elevated IMO. I had the spinach ravioli and added grilled chicken and thought it was delicious! We split the carrot cake for dessert, my son loved it, but I thought it was a little odd because it was not traditional, which some people would like. We definitely will return and want to try the burgers.
