I placed an order at this restaurant for the Feast for Two with the 12-piece ribs and an extra order of muffins. The Feast for Two is supposed to include chicken, ribs, muffins, coleslaw, beans, and brisket. However, my order was missing the chicken. Later, I also realized that I only received the extra muffins I purchased, not the muffins that are supposed to be included with the meal. What really upset me was how the manager handled the situation. I called the restaurant, and in a doubtful tone, he told me that if we wanted, we could bring the food back so they could inspect it. I live 18 minutes away from the restaurant. All I wanted was for them to check with the employee who prepared my order and confirm that the chicken was never placed in the box so I could simply go pick it up. My two younger children don't eat pork ribs, so the chicken was meant for them. By the time I realized it was missing, I had already opened the meal, served my oldest daughter, and told my younger kids that I was going to call the restaurant and then drive another 18 minutes to pick up their chicken. Unfortunately, the manager was not willing to provide good customer service, even after I explained that the meal had already been opened. I wasn't asking for a refund or a replacement of the entire meal--I only wanted the chicken that should have been included in my order. They have security cameras, so they could easily review the footage and verify whether the chicken was ever packed. I've been a customer here for years, and this has never happened to me before. First of all this place is huge. Walkable distance from children's mercy park with plenty of parking. We waited for around 10 minutes for a table since it was a Saturday evening and Sporting KC was playing that night. We ordered a slab of St. Louis style ribs (12 bones) which came with a couple of sides and a corn bread muffin. Initially, I was really skeptical about the taste but I really started liking it from the 2nd rib. They had 3 different kinds of barbecue sauce served in the table. I loved the Devils spit hot sauce. Great down-home BBQ. The rustic atmosphere really lends to getting a good portion of bbq meat and some fries! The BBQ itself gets a 7 out of 10. But, there are many options not only of what meat you have but also if you have it plated or on a sandwich. In one case I think I even saw where you could get it on a salad! They do have a variety of sauces and each has their own great flavor. For me I typically mix the spicy and the smokey because that is the flavor I am always looking for. For this visit, we sat at the Bar. The bartender was an extremely pleasant lady who provided amazing service. And this was made way more difficult because a manager person (Bar manager maybe) was continually telling her to put a lid on her drinks... even though they were the drinks that the bartender set aside to ensure the person had left before thowing it out and were NOT drinks that she was drinking. The BBQ pulled pork sandwich with fries was a very large portion and had really good flavor. The restaurant was clean, had done fun decor and plenty of TV's to watch. The service was so-so. It appeared our waitress was tending to 1/2 the dining area on her own, so she was running around crazy. When our food came out, was brought by someone else. Sat it down and left, this would be fine, except it was wrong. We ordered 3 meat- brisket, wings and pulled pork, 2 sides, ordered fries and coleslaw. Received- brisket, fried catfish strips and bbq chicken, sides- coleslaw and beans. It was 15 minutes before anyone showed up to see if everything was okay. Well - not really, but we couldn't wait another 1/2 hour for them to get it right. The food was mediocre, at best. Luke warm and the coleslaw is the sweet slaw -just fyi. My wife was shopping and brought home ribs, French fries & Cole Slaw for dinner. Ribs were tough, Fries were blah but the Cole slaw must have been the most valuable side order ever created. It was REALLY ORDINARY but it was also so small, I would have been embarrassed to serve it to anyone. IF there was 2 oz. in this "mammoth" serving, I would have been surprised. In fact, it was SO SMALL, I went to their website to see how much they charge for this massive serving. $4.00!!! That may be the most overpriced serving I've ever purchased anywhere! Couple that with the low quality and if I had been IN THE RESTAURANT, I WOULD HAVE CALLED FOR THE MANAGER AND SENT IT BACK! I actually have normally enjoyed Famous Dave's in the past. A number of years ago, I made the mistake of ordering cole slaw and was served the "thimble-sized" serving and it was below ordinary so I have never ordered it again. I don't think I understand what they are "famous" for. The burnt ends were sub par (but the pickles that came with were amazing! I didnt ever like sweet pickles but apparently I have been living a lie!). My husband and I got the pick three, wings that were very good, a super dry flavorless brisket and ribs they were bland and fatty. I ordered the Feast for 2 as usual and 98% of the time there wasn't any issues. The last time I ordered it I had an issue with the ribs that were on the platter, too dry and they appeared to be done pieces that should've been discarded, instead they decided to serve them anyway. I made a complaint to someone who said they would take care of it but that never happened. Unfortunately I will not be returning there because what I paid for wasn't worth what I received. read more

My wife enjoyed the ribs, my chicken Caesar salad dinner was really sad. It was a small, overcooked piece of chicken and the lettuce was shredded and difficult to eat with a fork. I definitely recommend this place. I go to the one in Nebraska and their food is consistently good. This one is located literally across the street from the Great Wolf Lodge. I already knew the food isn't great at Wolf Lodge so we ate here before we checked in. We ordered the bbq for 2 - 3 but there were four of us, two adults and two children. It came with chicken, brisket, and ribs. I ordered an extra sausage, 2 extra corn bread muffins, and an extra side of mac and cheese. We ate our fill for lunch and then took the leftovers to the Lodge. My daughter raved about how good the chicken was, my personal favorite was the ribs. All the sides were great, especially the mac and cheese. You have to try the cornbread, it's the best! The kids loved it all. We went around 2:30 so it was slow and service was prompt and great. Our server was very helpful in helping us to make our selection. The restaurant is rustic and very welcoming. At the Lodge we had a refrigerator and microwave so we were able to eat all the leftovers in our room after the waterpark closed. Everyone was starving yet there was still a little bit leftover after we all ate until we were full. The portions were large and the price was very reasonable. I only paid $75 for the entire bill and that included two children's drinks and 3 adult cocktails. We went on a Monday and this meal is a weekly Monday special. read more

To the point we wondered if they were actually meat. Ribs were low end chain restaurant covered in sauce. Not bad. Nothing you'd brag about. Pork was solid. And fries were good. I do recommend requesting packets of "devil's spit" bbq sauce if you like spicy and the sweet and sassy sauce if you don't. The online ordering system was simple to use but the estimated time of completion wasn't accurate; I did have to wait an extra 15 minutes after arriving. Unfortunately we had a mix up with our order, but they were quick to rectify it and provided great service in the process. We were getting takeout, but they were happy to help like we were dining in. Not to mention, the food used to be mediocre at best, but from what we had, it was really good! The brisket is amazing, seems like a smoked corned beef and I'll definitely be ordering it again in the future.
