My mom and I love coming here to eat! Their food is so good. Their fries are the best, and they give you plenty of them. I tried something new this time, I usually get their BLT (which is also really good), but I got their steakhouse burger today, which is apparently new, and it was so good. I ate the whole thing, which I only do with burgers if they're really good. The service is always fast, and the servers are very friendly. They have plenty of TVs, and the dollar bills on the wall that you can write on are a fun touch. We really like this place and highly recommend it. read more

Staff was excellent. We got there when doors opened. 5 of us. Food was a little slow arriving at the table but as I said we were there when they opened and the cooks might not have been ready. I really like pork tenderloin sandwiches and I have not been able to find them in DFW so when I am traveling and see them in the menu I order them. This is as a good piece of pork but the spices in the covering we covering the flavor with an ingredient of unidentified spice. It was not bad but not enjoyable. I will not order there again. Never tasted similar spicing in a pork tenderloin sandwich. The side of onion rings well done as ordered were excellent . I didn't have the highest of expectations for this place, but they were open late and we were hungry. The burgers and fries were actually very good and reasonable enough in price. The jalapeño burger was perfect. However, when we walked in around 9:45 on a Saturday, the place was mostly empty and about 5 waitresses were congregating around the bar. Not necessarily an issue, except many of the tables weren't cleaned, and it took several minutes for a server to greet us and bring menus. The employees were also DJ-ing explicit music, which is a little off-putting for a restaurant with a kids menu. The food was good and the vibe was just okay. Chill college town bar and grill. We stop in often, when in town for business. The service can be hit and miss. We have had some of the friendliest and greatest food servers at times and at other times, servers that have horrible attitudes and act like they are doing you a favor. They have a large menu to choose from. Their Wings are good and they run specials each day. Would rate the food at 4 stars, but average it out to a 3 due to the inconsistency of service and some of the servers that need to check their attitudes. read more

Visited on a Tuesday night a little after 8. They appeared to be steady, but had plenty of friendly staff helping customers. Standard bar environment. I ordered the jefferson burger and onion rings. You know how that reminder to review a place has been sitting on your Yelp home page for awhile? Yea, that's what I've been seeing for at least a couple of months. Torn about what's going on here but in the end after talking with other dining friends, I think the Yelp community has nailed it with 3.5 stars. No way 4, no way 2, though can't be sure about the latter. The promise of walking in the door is that it's a very inviting space, lots of TVs and interesting decorations with all the odd money tacked to the wall. Screams fun. And if you're into the watering hole, sports bar kind of environment I could see this being a great place to watch a game. Service was adequate. We ordered burgers and they arrived looking like a million bucks, spot on 5 star for appearance and how they were presented. But that first bite, oy. The meat with the moisture sucked out of it was jarring. Ketchup. More ketchup. Didn't help. The fries a tad on the dry side. More beer. More beer. Didn't help. Alas, the fried pickles were good but the dipping sauce, overloaded with salt. We could have just had the beer and pickles and been done I suppose. Some folks like this kind of fare but it's not for me. There are 2-3 really high quality burger joints with fantastic fries (sweet potato, duck fat, fire, etc.) within a few steps of here that almost never miss, so for my money I probably won't be back. Maybe just an off night when the cook was more interested in their phone, but to serve a decent burger than overcooked and do it twice is enough for my experience. read more

We went to this PLACE yesterday afternoon, 2 or 2:40PM. Ordered And waited about 10 to 15 minutes. The waitress came by to check. Waited another 10 to 15 minutes. I went to the back and was told the computer was broke down. Our food would be ready soon. About 5 minutes later, the waitress came out and told OUR TICKET would be printed soon! I lost it and informed her I wasn't going to eat THE TICKET. WTF does a ticket have to do with being served??!! There is no reason for this! IT IS UNACCEPTABLE. read more

I absolutely love this place, food is delicious. However that is the only positive review I can give. The workers here are absolute bitches who just sit on their phones in the back and look at you like you are dumb when you talk to them. All spoiled white sorority girls who couldn't care less about there customers. One time there was young men there and every single female worker was over there flirting with them as if they are pretty. This same time it took over 50 minutes to get my food and it was not busy. They aren't lying when they say this place has the best wings in town, but I say burger too! The wings were just right I got half Caribbean and Hot and the Hot is best...maybe because it's a classic? I'm not sure. I got the classic Cheeseburger and fries basket for $5 as a welcome back to KU special for students. My husband I came to this location after I got out of class on a Wednesday night and all of the male staff are great, but I can't say the same for females. I have now been to both Jefferson locations twice for Wakarusa and 3x for downtown; and the Wakarusa location has great staff all around, just not as busy. The downtown location Male bartenders are engaging and fun, while the female servers and bartenders don't really seem to want to be bothered by other females. I caught this vibe twice ordering a carry out order. Once my friend ordered because I encouraged her to for .85 cent wing Wednesday. When we walked in nobody greeted us, and we had to ask the Bartender if she could cash out her to-go order because she was helping all of NO customers. Ha. The second time I just had a craving for a good burger and the same thing happened, walked in and no greeting and had to ask to cash out. (ALL women staff) At this point I just decided it was best to wait in the car and let my husband get my food for me. I am disappointed to only rate this great restaurant 4 stars, and to write about poor attitude from women because I am a feminist. Maybe if Jefferson's cared about their hiring process just as much as the food production this place would be a WIN-WIN. read more
