We went on an Alaskan cruise and decided not to book any excursions through the cruise line. When…read morewe docked in Juneau, we decided to wing it and find a whale-watching tour and a way to see the glacier. There were several options available when we got off the ship, and luckily, we chose the right one! The bus was nice, and the whale-watching boat was great. It was clean, had plenty of seating, and the staff was incredibly friendly. They made the experience fun and interesting, and we were lucky enough to see whales! Our bus driver was also fantastic. He was very friendly, shared lots of history about the area, and pointed out bald eagles along the way. The captain of the boat was also super friendly, and they even provided snacks during the tour. The tour also took us to see the glacier. They dropped us off and gave us a specific time to meet back up, then picked us up and brought us back to the ship. We made it back to the ship on time, which was important since we were on a cruise. If I ever come back to Juneau, I will definitely use this company again. Next time, I'll know exactly who to book with in advance! Five stars all around! Ps. I also took pictures of whales that we've seen. We were able to see six, but I took the pictures with my other phone.

I loved that they really cared about these amazing creatures & strived to give them space at safe distance. Jack knows so much about whales and sea lions, you can ask him anything about them.

White Pass & Yukon Route Railroad - Inside my Rail Car was a nice group

Booked the Parker car through our Disney Wonder cruise…read more Hubby is a train fanatic and this is the one railroad he had not yet ridden. Maya, our hostess, was phenomenal: engaging, funny, knowledgeable about the history, and made the trip even more enjoyable than when I originally rode this train ( regular passenger) a decade ago. Scenery was amazing, history interesting, and the food ( particularly the cream puffs) fantastic!! Lived my Maya Mimosas too! Make sure you book our trip, whether it is regular fair or for the parlor car ASAP as a quickly fill up.

The scenery is absolutely beautiful, and the train itself is charming and well maintained. We booked directly through the railway's website and paid $155 USD per person. Guests who book through cruise ships can pay around $240 USD per person, which is even more difficult to justify. For a 2.5-hour train ride at this price, I expected a more premium experience. The scenery alone is wonderful, but beyond that there isn't much included. It would be nice if they added thoughtful touches like a complimentary mimosa, local pastries or desserts, or other small amenities that would make the experience feel more luxurious and memorable. I want to be clear--I'm not complaining about the views. They are stunning and definitely worth seeing. I just don't feel that the overall experience matches the premium price. If the ticket were more reasonably priced, or if more value were included, I would happily rate it 4 or even 5 stars.
