Since the new owners took over, you can really tell how much pride and care they've put into making this a fun, welcoming place for everyone. There is always something going on -- definitely check the event calendar. We've attended Taylor Swift Night, Minion Night, Santa Claus Night, and even just a regular Saturday skate, and every time the vibe has been great. The energy feels fresh, organized, and family-friendly, and you can tell a lot of thought goes into the events they plan. They also do fun drawings and giveaways, which makes the nights even more exciting. We've entered a few times and have actually won -- my daughter won a Taylor Swift album and magazine on our last visit, which absolutely made her night. I know this place used to have mixed reviews in the past, but it truly feels like a whole new chapter. If you haven't been in a while, I highly recommend giving it another try. My biggest complaint was that there were SO MANY kids + also going the wrong direction, on the skating rink. Several times staff came on the speaker and told everyone to be skating the same direction, but only after her saying that about three or four times did it change anything. Not really the staff's problem, but it was *really* hard dodging children everywhere, coming at me from every direction. We went during a half-off skating time, and there was a little discount for using cash, so it was $19.75 for admission and skate rental for two of us. The rink itself was very clean and in great condition. I enjoyed the variety of carpet squares all over the facility; colorful and makes it look fun. We rented skates and they were also in great working condition. I did see the staff sanitizing skates after use. I was so thrilled that staff left me bring in my big 32oz Nalgene water bottle! I drank so much of it while skating, and I was so happy to be hydrated! There is a working drinking fountain too, so I filled up a few times. The lockers were in good conditions, 2 quarters each, and there is a change machine that allows you to make change. The speakers and sound on the rink was great, and the music was good. The bathrooms were clean, well stocked, and well maintained. Overall I had a really great time skating, and definitely want to come back during an adult only time!

Today, during the 12-3 session, immediately after the announcement of rules, the announcer had to specifically reprimand 3 teenage boys who were playing tag, reminding them that they were not allowed to play tag. They continued to play tag cutting off other people, including young children who were there from a daycare center. They skated the wrong direction causing others to have to swerve to miss them and making several people to fall. After the rules announced that no one was aloud to stand and lean over the way or stop for any reason while on the skating floor, there were about seven teenagers standing inside of the rink near the half wall just talking, causing several little kids to fall. We left after less than an hour when one of the teenagers ran into my 11 year old son shoving him to the ground because he was oblivious to others. There was a referee on the floor, but he was not enforcing any of the rules. He just helped people up if he saw that they had fallen. If the rules are made to keep everyone safe, they need to be enforced, so people don't get hurt due to negligence. Not enforcing the rules is negligence on behalf of the skating center.

The party included a kids table set up with plates napkins and a table cloth some soda and pizza. The pepporoni pizza was pretty good for a skating rink. Miya did real well hosting especially since it seemed she was responsible for multiple party's on her own. We waited maybe an hour for pizza, allowing guests to skate a nice amount before eating. Miya also helped light the candles and hand out pieces of the cake. I would book another party here for sure.

Kid K's school had an event here, not private, but a school skate on a Saturday morning. Along with many other groups. You've seen the place along 71, relatively easy to get to, big parking lot packed with cars. I've never been because I didn't grow up here and it's overwhelmingly a kid's place, but I know it's been here forever. Easy check-in (I bought tickets online through the school event site,) and great service at the ticket counter and at the skate one. Easy to get skates, free wrist pads, and $5 for "walker" thingies for beginners to lean on while learning (very helpful, wish they'd had them when I was a kid and coulda used one when I had knee surgery.) I loved to rollerskate when younger, and even did it a few times as an adult, but that was 30 years and 2 knee replacements ago. So, we brought along a high-school age family member to help K. I helped some on the carpet, and you can walk on the rink in shoes so I did some of that too. K loved it, even put up with the falls (which are just a normal part of learning, of course.) Hanging out with friends, listening to music, and learning a little on her first time skating. The place is clean, there are plenty of places to sit, there's snacks (for outrageous prices,) there's laser tag and arcade games and other entertainment. The noise is overwhelming. Not from the kids, really- from the PA. Music was loud enough you have to yell to talk. And then the announcements... Loud and distorted and almost painful. Really awful. Bring earplugs. Not kidding. My ears are still sore from the assault. But, look: kids will have fun. Eat before and after. There is a drinking fountain so they will survive. Definitely use the pads and walkers, and wear cushy pants. Bring earplugs. Enjoy a little nostalgia. And look forward to the time they announce that your skating session is over.
