Amazing. If you're looking for a vets office where they genuinely care & will be honest with you & do whatever they can for your furry friend... go here. I had a stray cat that hangs around my place and I feed and pretty much take care of now lol... well she got in a fight or something and her eye was reallyyyy messed up... I called my normal vet that I use for my dog and they didn't even seem to care and said they weren't taking any new animals and didn't even have any suggestion on where else I should go and hung up... I was a mess crying and so worried about this cat I didn't know if she was hurt internally or what bc she wouldn't even come out from hiding. So I called around to numerousssss vets and none had any openings soon or we're not accepting new animals.... EXCEPT HERE. They had a full schedule and stillll worked her in and tried to calm me down and they were honest to god angels. And prices very fair. Thennnnn I am watching a puppy til my sister can come get her & the puppy has a umbilical hernia and so I wanted to get her in to the vet asap and againnn they fit her in within a weeks time AND then prior to her appt she had a little blood in her stool so I called panicked seeing if they could squeeze her in sooner and they did! THAT DAY. Even with a packed schedule. And the vet took plenty of time with us explaining, answering any questions I had, etc and same with the vet techs. They genuinely care & want to help these precious animals. I'll never take a pet any where else. Thank you guys! read more

We adopted a dog from the Pike County pound, and fixing was included in the fee. This clinic donates their services to make sure pets are fixed. Scheduling was easy, and the staff were very friendly and professional. We dropped her off in the morning, and they gave us a call to let us know when she was ready to pick up. I moved to Ohio last June and obviously needed to find a good Vet. Chillicothe Animal Clinic has now cared for both my 11 year old Min Pin and our 6 month old rescue Lab/Rott mix. Lucy the minpin received her shots and an exam, and Amber the 6 month old puppy was spayed and chipped after her exam. The pricing was reasonable (for a Vet), and the care was excellent. Amber's doing well after her surgery, which was very well done. This Vet group definitely has my whole hearted recommendation! read more

Two recent experiences have prompted my review. I've known about this clinic for years and have taken animals here before. However, I opted in the last few years for another vet closer to work and home. With that said, just a couple of months ago I had a cat in distress urinating blood. My unable to get her in so I called CAC next. They had me bring her in immediately and treated me as if I have been a customer and my cat a patient for years. They were amazing! They treated her and even called a few days later to check in. The next incident followed an unfortunate accident with a UTV and an old dog. We had to get him in ASAP for euthanasia as he was in dire pain. Again, my regular vet couldn't see us so when I called CAC they worked us in immediately. I had two preteens with me that wanted to be with the dog in his final minutes and I am overwhelmed with the amount of love and compassion the staff showed us. They were quiet, calm, and comforting. Once again they made us feel like family. They made a paw print for him, placed him in a nice little burial bag, and even followed up with a sympathy card. I am so grateful for the service from this clinic that it will now become our regular veterinarian and not just a hopeful call when I'm turned away from our regular vet. I wish i could give 0 stars. The lady vet diagnosed my dog as epileptic, prescribed him phenobarbital. Everything was fine until a couple days before Christmas. He was out of his medication, i called to get a refill. She said no because he had to have blood work first (which actually was another 6 months away). I couldnt bring him in that day for blood work for a number of reasons, so i asked if i could bring him in after Christmas.. she then proceeded to tell me to find another vet and that she would not be giving him his refill.. anybody that knows, you cant just stop giving your dog phenobarbital. They have to be weened off.. he immediately started having seizures again. She told us if we took our bad review down she'd give him a wks worth, but she didnt even give him that.. so here i am, for the 3rd time, putting up this review. Marley is doing great now, no thanks to Chillicothe Animal Clinic, and their vet. All they care about is that $$$. read more

I took my older cat into them about 5 1/2 years ago. Don't remember the reason, but after the examination, was told he would be Dead in less than 6 months! Kind of bothered me, so I took him to another vet! Was told he was ok, just a little under the weather, so to speak. Well, like I said, that was over 5 years ago, and he's still living. In fact, he just had a birthday on September 16th and he is now 18 yrs old!! Long 6 months, wouldn't you say??? Would NOT in any way, recommend them for any kind of let care!! read more

They took my little dog in the Wednesday before Labor Day , her puppies had died in inside her . Living in Groveport I called close ER they let me know because it was holiday weekend they was very busy and it was long wait . Called Clinic they are the Only place that would take her right in . Was waiting for her when we got there . Her puppies had , died she was already septic , I couldn't had found a more caring veterinarian for my little girl , who called me more than once daily . I've been going to Chillicothe Animal Clinic since the early nineties for my pets needs. The entire staff is very caring, attentive and professional. Luckily most of my appointments have been regular visits for vaccinations and well health checks which they do a great job of tracking and notifying you when you are due. I have had the occasional emergency visit which they have given the appropriate sense of urgency and helped me find the best solution for my injured pet. I am very happy with CAC and recommend them highly and often! read more

Took my dog in to get a shot to help with her labor, they told me they did an ultrasound and all the puppies were in distress and it would be $1,000 for a C-section but they can spay her and it will be cheaper! You can't soa spay a dog who's just had puppies! They need the hormones to produce milk correctly! I told them bring her back to me right now! All puppies were born throughout that day like normal and all are healthy and perfect! LIARS!!!! read more

I have taken my dog there for years since I have had him, the staff there is friendly and courteous. The CAC also recently has made COVID appointments easy with well signed and posted directions to follow and a simple process as well. Dr. Picklesimer is so caring and thorough with my dogs. She respects them and shows her love for animals. She also spent several days and nights, trying to save my dog while he continually had convulsions. I truly love her care for my pups. read more

We took a cat here about 8 years ago (male) to be fixed. He died a few days later. Granted, it was 8 years ago, so this place could be completely different now. It was a horrible ordeal and I hope they've cleaned up shop. We suspect that he got an infection. read more

Beware! For the better part of a year misdiagnosed my cat, Chillicothe Animal Clinic did indeed . After many visits & poor information regarding the true sate of his health, they evaporated precious time that could have been used to save him @ Med Vets. Incompetence & the lack of due diligence is what i found in regards to my special needs cat. It's easy to take care of a healthy animal & say everything is ok & that will be 200 hundred bucks. They in fact got 300 bucks & did nothing for him that yielded any positive results in the 24 hour period prior to taking him to Med Vets. To add insult to injury they even misdiagnosed him one last time before i got the real story @ Med Vets. If you have a older cat please stay clear of this place as all they will do is take your money & say there sorry. Or at best at some point after it's too late they will throw up they're hands & tell you there is nothing they can do & then refer you to Med Vets. Well after it's already too late & after they have already milked your for hundreds of dollars. In addition to my own experience which my six sense tells me these vets operate in a world of ineptitude, two Med Vets vets told me that Chillicothe Animal Clinic is indeed the minor leagues in regards to animal care. They killed my cat with their paltry skills & cluelessness. Oh & thanks for the sympathy card that pushed me over the edge to share my experience with your house of horrors! read more
