Giving us the time we needed in a comfort room, literally allowing us to take all the time we needed while we said our goodbyes to allowing my husband to hold her while we said goodbye meant so much. We took our dog there because of breathing issues. It was determined he had fluid in his lungs. The team there was very attentive, caring, and very responsive to our questions. He had to spend a couple of days in an oxygen tent until the fluid drained so he could be transferred to Medvet Worthington to be seen by a cardiologist. We had never left him overnight anywhere before and the team at Pickerington let us spend time with him while he was in the oxygen chamber. That did a lot for his comfort level and helped lessen his anxiety (and ours). They kept us updated on his progress and we felt very comfortable with the care he was being given. His stay there overlapped several shifts and the quality of his care was consistently great! I will add that we were able to visit him 24/7. The facilities were modern and clean. This place is, no joke, a scam. I say this as someone who has been taking my cats and dogs to the vet for 15 years. Do NOT go here unless you are certain your pet is actively dying. I could go into the whole story of my experience, but basically we arrived at 2am for an emergency for our cat (she's fine). And by the time we were ready to leave at 4am, they didn't get us checked out until 6am, knowing we had an hour drive home. I felt delirious. And they wanted to charge us an additional $1,200 to just monitor the cat overtime. Which they deemed necessary ( it was not). Couldn't recommend less. read more

Took my two dogs there because they ate foreign objects. After 4+ hours of waiting and one large bill the lady finally came out, handed me a piece of paper then brought me my dogs. As she walked away from me I asked if my dogs were okay and all she said was "your good to go" no explanation or anything. Unbelievable, here I am worried about my dogs and they can't even do me the courtesy of explaining the x rays, and the final results, I have to read it myself. Poor customer service! Took my dog in because she ingested chocolate. They came and took her back to get her vitals, 45 minutes later the vet came out and told me that they would need to keep her over night. No exam,no exam tomorrow, just came out to the waiting room to tell me my dog had a heart rate that was life threatening and she needed to stay. I told her I would like to see my dog, she informed me that there no rooms available for that. After another 30 minutes later a tech came out with an estimate. I asked some more questions about them keeping her the tech told me I would need to talk to the vet again, another 25 minutes later, the vet came out. She was clearly annoyed, sat down and stared at me, didn't ask what I needed did say "I heard you had questions" just glared. I asked my questions she answered them clipped and clearly agitated. I told her I was uncomfortable leaving my dog but if that was best for my dog I would, but I wasn't leaving until I saw her. We arrived at medvet at 7:15, at 9:30 I was finally able to see my dog again. After I had been told my estimate and diagnosis, one that was procured with zero testing, in a room full of strangers. I had spent a total of less than five minutes with a real person and they wanted me to sign an estimate for 2600.00. After 20 minutes in a room with my dog, they came back I signed the agreement and the tech agreed that she probably didn't need to stay. Never saw the vet again, but after another two hours they agreed to treat her and let her go home. For an issue they insisted was life threatening they too. Their time making me feel pressured into giving them thousands of dollars but doing very little for my dog. I cannot express enough DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE! They want your money, there is no empathy, the front desk is cold impersonal, the vet is hard and takes zero time with people. As long as this review is I could go on for another 500 words of the things they screwed up, letting me sit in a room alone for a tech to come retrieve my dog that hadn't even been brought to me, a second tech coming in to ask me what how they were treating her, the front desk acting like I was bothering them when I check out. So far I am not impressed. We've been here an hour. Sitting in the car while our dog is inside. We brought him in for vomiting and diarrhea and hard stomach. No one seems very sympathetic or that anything is urgent. I don't like that he's in there without us. My Westie had food poisoning Saturday. He was very sick Sunday morning, so I ran him to Medvetz. I was told the wait was 4-6 hours. My dog was going into shock, but no one helped. We were put into a room with one hard plastic chair and a concrete floor. Period. The floor was dirty with stuff stuck to it. Finally, a girl brought my dog a fleece blanket to lay on. It was dirty with something crusted on it. The place was cold and that concrete floor was torture. After 3 hours, the dog was shivering and was in worse shape than when we came in. I am 84 years old and my back was killing me, so I had enough for the both of us. I walked out. On the way out, I glanced into the inner sanctum and saw there was only one young person working where the vets are. I came home, wrapped Robbie in an electric blanket, gave him spoonfuls of warm water and chicken broth. He was still one sick dog. Today, Monday, he ate shredded chicken mixed with broth. He is alert and will make it. I have one suggestion for Medet. If they are going to charge exorbitant fees, take some of your profits and hire someone to clean and another vet. Sadly my handsome furbaby had to be put down due to his failing health in an emergency situation. They say this vet is an emergency vet which is total bull. I called 1st thing in the morning telling them it was an emergency I got put on the wait list and headed up there. We get there and check in and they make us wait in the car for 2 hours while my poor furbaby is suffering. I walk in and tell then he is declining fast and is getting worse by the minute they finally take us in and put us in a room. It took another 4 d**n hours for them to help him I was so mortified and scarred already because this was my baby and he was suffering and they didn't care!!! My poor firbaby finally started leaving on his own and then I walk out 1 last time and tell them he's going on his own then only then did they do something about it. We had a house fire and the Columbus Fire Dept # 23 saved our dog! He suffered smoke inhalation and they took him to MedVet Diley Hill Emergency Center. They took such good care of our dog, Bernie Mac! They called me and kept me updated on how he was doing. Dr. Ellen even called me after he was released to check up on him! After caring for him for 24 hrs with extensive care, they didn't even charge us considering our situation! That was HUGE!!! Words cannot express how appreciative we are of them!!! I don't think anyone, owners or pets, like emergency trips to the vet but sometimes it happens. I had to use MedVet over the weekend as my senior cat Gizmo contracted an URI from his little brother (who likely caught it at another vet office since they are both indoor only) and my poor baby was sneezing and wheezing like crazy. I got here around 10:30am and this place was packed! They got Gizzy in pretty quick but wanted me to wait in the parking lot. After two hours I called for a status and told them i know they are busy, I know he's not in a life threatening situation so can I just go home and wait? I was hungry, had to pee and my phone was going to die. I was told to go to the gas station?! Lol like no thanks. Anyway, I just went home instead of wasting gas running my car for hours so I could disinfect my house and do laundry to get my boy a quarantine room when he came home. Anyway, the vet and techs let me know my baby wasn't being cooperative (sorry he is a pain!) but they were SO nice about it unlike our regular vet who gave me a pamphlet on aggressive cats (mine just hates the vet). They were not mean or condescending at all. I submitted the anesthesia consent around 2 and got a call around 5:15 that my boy was ready for pick up. The dr (forget her name) was very nice and gave me the run down on Gizmo X-ray and blood work. Actually, all the staff here, despite the crazy looking schedule were so nice to me, even if the gas station comment made me mad at the time. So yeah, this is like a human ER. Yes people, it's expensive ($700 for Gizmo which included blood work, X-ray, exam, antibiotics and sedation) but so is the ER and yes, wait times are long, but have y'all ever heard of what a triage is? My only thing is just let people go home and wait. No one needs to sit in a car for HOURS especially in this heat and with these gas price! (And sorry gas station food is mostly gross and so are the bathrooms) But if I ever had another emergency, I would use this facility, but let's hope I don't have to! read more

WORST PLACE EVER!!! I wish I could give ZERO stars! The service of this emergency room is abysmal, the staff wholly incompetent, and the care rendered poor!!! They should be ashamed of how awful they are, and need to be shut down immediately!! There was only 1 patient there when we arrived, my dog was ACTIVELY bleeding and other than a 2 sec 'triage' which was an absolute joke, NO DOCTOR or TECH or anyone came to even ATTEMPT to stop the bleeding; this after I told them that we had already tried and failed to stop it, which is what prompted the emergency visit in the middle of the night to begin with! After over an hour of waiting, I inquired about how much longer of a wait it would be, as the bleeding was not slowing down, was assured that someone would be in soon to at least apply a dressing to control the bleeding until the vet could come in, yet after another 45 mins of waiting, still NOTHING....not even a cursory assessment of the extent of the bleeding. The worst part, I heard MULTIPLE staff members laughing, joking, talking about their plans for the weekend, etc, having the time of their lives, while we waited in vain. REALLY?!?! All this time with staff bullshitting, while emergencies are left unattended!! UNBELIEVABLE! Finally, at the height of our frustration at our dog continuing to suffer and bleed out, we left without ever being seen. I would NEVER, EVER recommend it or go there again!!! I hope this place gets shut down, before someone's beloved animal dies waiting on them to do their damn job! This place is a death trap!Anyone foolish enough to take your loved pets there, BEWARE!! In looking at the other reviews, I see this is the type of care (or lack there off) that is common here. My 4 month old german shepherd puppy was suffering from something unknown at the time and my primary care vet referred me to Diley Hill. This was one of the worst experiences i've ever had in a animal hospital. I had just lost my last shepherd a few months prior due to getting hit by a car, and i was devastated to hear that my 4 month old puppy might be suffering from heart failure and do you want to know what the the nurse who discharged us told me? "he won't live long and will die soon" with such cold and bitter attitude. He still had an unknown diagnosis and we had not seen a cardiologist yet. She said this to me with what it seems like only assumption. I thought it was very unprofessional to talk to a patient about the longevity of their life without exhausting all resources to finalize an official diagnosis. After a cardiology appointment with medvet in worthington, it turns out he has a heart condition but can be treated with a simple surgery and he'll be able to live a normal and long life. I would just like an apology from that nurse and I will make sure to never recommend this place to ANYONE. DONT GO HERE!! read more

We took our dog there because she was having respiratory issues... after waiting for 2 hours they finally took her back for diagnostic tests, charged us $700 and said they didn't know what was wrong. Gave us pills only because I requested some kind of action besides a "shrug- we don't know what's wrong".., they sent us home saying to go to our regular vet if the pills don't work. They didn't. We requested the X-rays and information be sent to our vet... they never sent them... we were there a total of 3.5 hours, they did nothing, provided no answers, and left us sitting there while our dog was having difficulty breathing for HOURS. They were dancing around in the office while I sat there thinking my dog was dying... they said they wouldn't take a neck sample (she has a swollen throat) bec if it was a thyroid issue it could "cause big problems" yet my dog came back in bleeding under her neck from a sample they took without my permission then said it would cost extra to send it to pathology so they took the "dangerous sample" and then said we would need to pay extra to see what the results for that would be (when asked how much that would cost on top of the $700 they said they didn't know and it would take a few hours for any results)... I would have been fine if they had just sent the X-rays to our vet so we wouldn't have had to pay for the same thing twice but they couldn't even do that. I waited for 2 hours to only have my cat's breathing and heart rate checked as well as a quick feel of his organs. Just this very simple procedure costed ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTY THREE DOLLARS. For how long it took, you're better off waiting for your primary vet office to open and take your pet there. Now, if I were to have a urine sample and X-ray done like I was needing, over SIX HUNDRED DOLLARS. Most people today wouldn't spend that on themselves if they were dying. That is far too expensive. You are gouging your patients. Can't NOT recommend this place enough. On the plus side, most of the staff was very friendly. My little dog suddenly got sick and I rushed him to Diley Hill from Athens OH. The drive was worth it because the staff on duty 9pm-12am was efficient, thoughtful, and caring throughout my whole experience. I walked in thinking my dog had suffered a stroke or seizure earlier in the evening and was assessed at the desk and immediately taken to a room to meet a doctor. They did vitals and took my information/story about my dog within 10 minutes of walking in the door. I had called in advanced and the payment method was explained to me immediately, walking in the door and initial assessment is a base fee and as they assess further and understand more about the condition, a review of treatment and signing off on payment incrementally would happen. It was very transparent. The doctor or a nurse came to check on me frequently throughout my dog getting assessed to make sure I was okay, explain what they were finding, and to talk me through a course of action. I was finally most impressed by my interest in transferring my dog to a different vet closer to home, which I was nervous would be met poorly, as these places are typically run for the money and can be aggressive. The doctor understood and gave her opinion on doing that, called the vet I wanted to transfer to and scanned over all the x-rays and blood work results they had already run on my pup. I was so grateful at that step and interest in sharing their intel to best support my dogs treatment in the long run. Overall - though expensive (all 24/7 vets are) the staff I had the pleasure of working with were all kind, efficient and clearly cared about my dog and his best interest. We had to rush my 14 year old Australian shepherd here at 11pm. We were seen by Dr. Jennifer Crase. After some exams, I had to make the decision to have my dog put down. She was very compassionate and sympathetic along with the rest of the staff. They made a tough process a little bit easier with how they cared. That was my first time there. I wasn't expecting to get my dogs ashes back so fast, took two days when they said a week. They put a paw print, lock of hair, and card with it. Very sweet of them to do. I will never use medvet diley hill ever again twice I have taken my dog there for injuries and both times I was over charged and still had to take him somewhere else and pay someone else on top of them so he could get the proper treatment. The second injury they recommended that he be put down. But i took him to OSU vet med and they took care of him and 3 days later he came home and made a 100% full recovery. read more

Zero stars. Find another ER. My dead dog was ignored for two hours. He was not monitored, he was placed in an overheated bed, his labs were not run, he was not given SQ fluids or an antiemetic. I gave them the diagnosis upon arrival. I simply could not wait until Monday morning for his primary vet to open. I made the grave mistake not continuing on 25 miles to the main Med Vet site where he possibly would have had proper treatment. This unit claims to be an ER with an ICU but they "don't have enough monitors". I will never forget the incompetent Vet who lied to me and neglected to provide competent care for my dog. In my opinion she should have been fired. Definitely additional training was indicated. Lastly, when I reviewed his records they took ONE set of vitals on my dog. Only admission vitals. After I paid the deposit of 3200 dollars they said they would call me every 12 hours or I could check in at any time. I made it very clear I was not leaving him alone without the lab reports and some proper treatment. I waited outside, they did nothing (except leave him in an what I believe was an overheated bed for my Pug) They finally took him out discovered he was dead and did CPR without my consent. I would NEVER have approved CPR on a dog with a known heart condition. read more
