This is the location of the Thrift Shop run by Community Services. It's a short walk from the…read moreSteamship Authority terminal and Five Corners. Small amount of parking out front. Parking is very tight. The space looks like an old warehouse or storage garage that the volunteers keep pretty well organized and relatively clean. There's a lot of turnover here. You like it? Get or it will be gone the next day. This is a very popular shopping destination for islanders. But keep in mind that you will pay island prices. Like everything on the island, this place is very expensive. Ceramic vases and candle sticks that would go for a dollar or two elsewhere can sport $30 price tags. Or more. There's always a fair amount of furniture, but they don't have the space for too much. Some framed art but nothing very special, except for once a year when they have their famous art show that is a wild experience. The volunteers save their nicest donations of art related things to sell on an August weekend and it's a mob scene. Curated by Olga Hirshhorn, this is really a unique event. They have jewelry, folk art, antique dolls, ceramic pieces and every kind of art work you can imagine. The people who run this place keep it well organized. They have a huge space in back where they are able to sort through things and put aside holiday related items which they pull out at the right time. I don't spend a lot of time looking at the clothes, but they have a decent, if dowdy selection, including some fancy dresses and warm jackets. There are always a lot of beat up looking kitchen items, including the standard coffee mugs and frying pans, but sometimes you'll find fantastic china sets, vases and silver that would look great on anyone's table. The books are very overpriced and not in very good shape. The other thrift shop in Edgartown is much better for books. And although most of the staff are friendly, a couple are not helpful at all. You will pay more than off-island thrift shops. This is the Vineyard. Every day of the week, a different category is 1/2 price, which is a nice treat for shoppers. It's the island's biggest department store. Go spend some money and find yourself an island treasure.

This is more of a junk shop than a thrift store. People in vineyard haven bring their cast offs. They did have some furniture that was in fair shape, old paintings and lamps. Odds and ends. One man's junk is another man's treasure so they say. We thought it was just junk.

After swim classes the facilities are always being kept up with. The women's locker rooms can be a little slippery but it doesn't help when people ring out their bathing suit on occasion in the locker area. Swim caps are mandatory in the pool even if you have a young child that isn't going to dunk under water. Bring a fabric one or the front desk sells the plastic ones ( and goggles) . Classes: As many as you would expect from any gym. In the mid afternoon usually there's less classes but there's a room upstairs that is used as a multi purpose room for stretching etc ( the same one for classes) opens up. Spinning on the first floor . In the summer some classes fill up so you need to sign up. Free weights , cardio , machines( upstairs) : a great selection of all the above. A few cable weights, smith machine, stair climber and all the cardio machines you could ever want. The area is also well maintained by vacuuming . A wall of cubbies for storing items instead of the lockers downstairs. ( Yes, there's an elevator). Plenty of personal trainers. Childcare: during the winter there's child watch on certain days for kids under the kindergarten age . There's a after school program and they offer school vacation and early closing from school care. Summer camp fills up incredibly fast as do all the camps. Swim lessons for sign up. Aquila - cafe on the 1st floor with snacks ( high protein options), smoothies , coffee etc . They sell cakes ( make to order) , pies around the holidays. Parking: in the front and right . Additionally there a lot near the ice area as overflow for the Y.

They are so easy to get to during the day for a healthy pick-me-up ~ they also offer Uber Eats delivery. My favorite smoothie is the Cinnamon Toast Crunch and the loaded Oatmeal Bowl with drizzled peanut butter is outstanding!! Definitely consider popping in and giving them a try! Aquila is an extension of the coffee shop/gift shop also located on the Aquinnah Cliffs!! Great locally roasted coffee at both locations!!
