Terrible complex i've ever been Stay so far from there "AC broken in 90°F weather - '4 days wait' solution was unacceptable" Stayed here while the AC unit was completely non-functional in the middle of hot weather. A technician was sent, spent hours working on it, and the system still never cooled the room even slightly. We were then told there would be no further availability for up to 4 days. No working AC, no portable unit provided as promised, and no real urgency despite the conditions being clearly uncomfortable and borderline unlivable. In the meantime, the system kept running constantly with zero cooling, which is just wasted electricity and shows the issue was never properly resolved. We had no choice but to purchase temporary cooling (fan) ourselves just to make the space livable while waiting for action. For a property that provides essential utilities, this level of delay and lack of solution is not acceptable. Maintenance response needs to be much more responsive in situations like this. Would not expect this level of service again. read more

Stay away from SILAN ANTON Worst apartment complex in west Bloomfield specifically our leasing agent that helped us soooooo unprofessional and disrespectful SILAN Anton don't deal with her I don't know how she even got a job there Me and my wife we just moved from California and we were ready to rent our place She showed us 2 unit on the 19th of this month that they were not even ready super dirty she was so rude on our way out she said that there will be another unit renovated by the 27th we called today and she said our unit are all same not super clean and dirty and I don't think you will like it So unprofessional read more

Do not Rent Here... Worst place to live. The living room is leaking water creating mold on the ceiling roof and base boards, water coming from under the flooring and ruining all of it. Main bathroom is water coming from the baseboards. In addition the ceiling of our garage is leaking water. I have been asking them to come fix this since last week of July and nothing has been done. Piece of garbage rip off place to live. My in laws live here and the owners are greedy slum lords. They pay 1850 a month for this low quality slum who's maintenance is worse then the condition of the hell hole. They go in unannounced all the time to fix the same damn leak for 4 years leaving garbage and a mess behind every time. The grout in the bathrooms stabs your feet and the squeaky floors that you feel like your gonna fall through are horrendous. You can hear everything from the downstairs neighbors and the master bedroom and closet reek of cigarettes thanks to the smoking neighbor. My roommate and I lived at Chimney Hill Apartments for 2 years and though the move in process was easy during COVID times, that's about the only positive thing I can say about this place. In the time that we lived there, we submitted over 20+ maintenance requests for various issues, ie our water heater leaking, the front steps to our door falling apart, MAJOR water leaks coming from the ceiling in the mater bedroom, dishwasher leaking and being replaced with a new one that was even worse and more. I will agree with the other reviews as well, the walls are thin and the bugs are bad, even living on a second story unit. We had so many bee's, we couldn't use our balcony (that was wobbly and molded over). Also, after the first year, our rent was raised by $100 which was manageable. Around the time to resign, they were asking for $500 more than our initial rent was. I understand times are tough but asking tenants to pay 30% more in rent during these times is absolutely unheard of. In addition to these issues WHILE we lived there, it took almost 3 months for us to receive our security deposit. We moved out May 31st and just received our meniscal security deposit check on August 11th. After asking about it multiple times, the office sited "extended mail time during holidays", "maybe it got lost in the mail", "did you give us the right address", "ill check with accounting to see if it was cashed".... to finally be told a new check would be cut, to only get it over a month later, 10 days after the date on the check. I know it's hard to find rent for a decent price anywhere in metro Detroit right now, but PLEASE read this, save yourself the headache and spend your money elsewhere. read more

DO NOT RENT HERE! This has been such a terrible experience. The lack of professionalism and poor management is outrageous. We moved in into an apartment that did not have done what was promised before moving in. Our master bathroom is leaking water into our dinning room and the bathroom closet creating mold and ruining the floor. But Chimney Hill just seems to NOT care AT ALL. We have been asking them to come fix this since FEBRUARY and NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE. Most recently, they only say that they are "waiting on the contractor". How can you wait so long for something so serious like this? In addition, the ceiling of our garage is coming off and also has mold, a service request has been submitted and they have been IGNORING it so far. Yet, they have been calling us to PRESSURE us to renew our lease, but do not even have the decency to update us on the bathroom repair status or whatsoever. We have talked to managers, but even the managers do not even care. All that struggle for $1450 a month, it is NOT worth it. They do NOT care about their residents at all. I should have listened to the reviews, now I'm miserable. When I moved in the place had so many things that need to be fixed. I could not believe that someone thought the place was move in ready. I was finding things everyday. The tape on the patio doors Still look horrible I have not heard back from anyone on when that will be fixed. The staff is very nice and the repairs are fixed in a timely fashion for the most part. Now let's move on to the trash that is everywhere. I guess my neighbors don't know how to set out trash. Trash is everywhere before trash day. Rodents, flies the whole nine is hanging around our place. Management say they have let the neighbors know but it still continues. Now their can is right by my door. I run in the apartment so that flies don't come in. I'm so miserable, what a bad decision for the money that I pay. You are better off living in the projects! Oh and my place smells like trash! I have plug ins and air fresheners at my front door. I can't believe I have to suffer a whole year here. I hate coming home. Do not rent here please, save yourself the pain and suffering I'm experiencing. read more

This is the first time I have been compelled to go online and write a review. This is the worst apartment complex I have ever lived at. I have lived here several years. The apartments are old and use cheap materials. My roof has leaked three times. Everything has broken. In the winter, there is ice on the walls due to insufficient insulation. My apartment was not up to code for years until the city finally forced them to fix. They refused to fix my AC when it was 95 degrees in my apartment one summer. There is no humidifier on the furnace, so the humidity drops as low as 5% in the winter, leading to nose bleeds. There is trash all around my apartment, which they refuse to clean up. As a result of the trash they don't clean, there was a mouse in my garage that destroyed property stored there. Management is pleasant if there are no issues, but if you have a problem, they are difficult to work with. They ignore repair requests. I have windows with broken seals. I requested repair in writing on October after months of them ignoring them. They are still not repaired in March. I could go on and on. Run. Don't rent here. read more

Beginning my 10th year living in my Chimney Hill apartment I have never been more satisfied with the asthetics of my surrounds and especially the make-over of my apartment itself. My floors, cabinets and and countertops have recently been updated to a new and current look. It's beautiful. I feel like I am living in a brand new apartment, with all the comforts of my old one. Thank you Chimney Hill, especially Cheryl and Tony, for your outstanding service and pride in my home and the other good people you choose to live around us.
