Wow. This place is SO CUTE. I've been following Chin Chin on Instagram for years so I was very excited to get to try it. The shop itself is a little small but we were able to get seating which was nice. We split the two dishes and that was enough. I would order the marshmallow waffle cone ten times over- it was so amazing. Very sweet but very good. I'd never had sticky toffee pudding and I liked it but wow the waffle cone was amazing. Highly recommend.
I give their ice cream 20 out of 10! So freaking good. Make sure you don't get overwhelmed with all the food variety around and save some for this one.
I was on a roll to try out different hot chocolates during my stay in London and had to stop by Chin Chin for their signature hot chocolate with the torched marshmallow fluff!! Their hot chocolate was pretty rich and decadent, which I very much enjoyed! It was definitely more viscous compared to other hot chocolate drinks but I loved how it was so chocolate-y yet still sweet. The marshmallow was chewy and fluffy. It paired well with the thick chocolate but the ratio of marshmallow to amount of chocolate drink was a bit to high for me. I do love how they torched the marshmallow right in front of you and give you a little bowl for your cup in case the chocolate spills as you dig into your dessert. The store itself was really cute with some tightly packed tables/chairs. This location was in Camden market so it was popping on a weekend afternoon but my party of 3 was still able to get grab a spot to enjoy our hot chocolate. Would love to come back to try some of their other desserts!
This was easily the best hot chocolate I ever had. It is thick, rich and just the right amount of sweet. The house made marshmallow just brought to the next level. Such a beautiful and luxurious experience; so worth the price. I highly recommend checking out this place whenever you're nearby.
Tip: it's cash only. So unbelievably delicious! I ordered the the brownie cookie sandwich with tonka bean ice cream...and as I type this, my mouth is quite literally salivating. My husband ordered the sticky toffee warmie sundae - it was unreal. If you like toffee and caramel flavors, then you should definitely go for the sticky toffee. Chin Chin is apparently the first liquid nitrogen ice cream parlor in all of Europe. If you've never tried nitro ice cream, you need to do so immediately. The texture is so rich and creamy. You'll never be able to go back to just regular ice cream!

I came here for the infamous hot chocolate with the toasted marshmallow. It looked amazing but the dark chocolate they used was a bit too bitter for me. This store is VERY small, only about 4 tables and they only take cash. The service was super friendly however so I would definitely recommend to check this place out.

Came here as this place popped up on one of those Facebook videos, showing off their hot chocolate with an ooey gooey marshmallow on top. The place is right in the middle of Camden Market, the location is small with only about 3-4 tables inside. Thankfully it was a rainy day and the place was quiet and we managed to get a table. Warning the place is cash only -- something you don't see a lot anymore! We ordered each a hot chocolate with a marshmallow -- the cost quite a bit £4 something and you only get a small cup. However once you start eating the marshmallow, you know why you only get a small amount. The marshmallow is great and the best thing about the whole drink, it's as said ooey and gooey, burnt on top with a dark chocolate sq on top. The marshmallow is very very sweet, but oh so great. However the hot chocolate isn't so great, as the marshmallow is soo sweet, you don't want a sweet hot chocolate, it's quite bitter, reminding me of Mexican hot chocolate. However I enjoy my hot chocolate sweet and didn't really enjoy theirs. In conclusion: the marshmallow is better than the drink itself. I'd try it once just to have tried it, but I wouldn't go back. Plus the service wasn't that great, as the location is so small, you should talk and acknowledge your customers, however we said goodbye and thank you to the staff as we left and got nothing back from them :( Shame
White lab coats, safety goggles, beakers of many-coloured solutions, and billowing clouds of evaporating nitrogen. Sounds like your basic university chemistry lab, right? Pretty much, except you get to eat what you make here. And by 'you' I mean 'the folks behind the counter with all the safety equipment'. Chances are, you don't want to be on the one to accidentally freeze off an appendage with the vat of liquid nitrogen sitting behind the counter of KitchenAid stand mixers. However, you -do- get to choose your own adventure from amongst a frequently-changing assortment of ice cream flavours. In our case, we opted for one of the flavours on rotation, a basil chocolate chip topped with crushed hazelnuts, and a decadent Valrhona topped with raspberry sauce. Sure, the cool* factor here is through the roof and the prices aren't cheap, but remember that you're paying for more than just a frosty treat; you're getting an education and a show... and some of the freshest, most luscious ice cream to be found in London. --- * See what I did there? Being liquid nitrogen ice cream, it's much creamier than regular ice cream. If it's you're first time and you may only get one chance to visit, splurge and go for their more popular versions. When I came, it was the Burnt Caramel Butter Ice Cream sandwiched either between two cookies or two brownies- or if you can't decide- one of each. The toppings range from marshmallow to cinnamon toast, but with the Burnt Caramel, I found that their Truffle Crumble & Cinnamon Toast pieces paired perfectly, as it lent a slightly-sweet, slightly-salty balance to it. They also have seasonal flavors like pear & vanilla, but I guarantee that if you're an ice cream lover, you'll adore this place. They even have coffee and hot chocolate of the ice cream wasn't enough to satisfy that sugar craving you walked in with.
Incredible liquid nitrogen based ice cream. They have a few flavors to choose from daily but they rotate them frequently. The toppings were different and refreshing. The ice cream "scientists" are surrounded by ginormous nitrogen tanks, they have on goggles and lab coats to create you an awesome treat. The ice cream was so good, and the toppings were marvelous. It's hard to go wrong with the flavor combinations. What a fun experience! Definitely will be back if I'm ever in Camden again.
This place is iconic, the s'mores with tonka ice cream was amazing. The ice cream and marshmallows were eggless which surprised me, and they tasted delicious. The hot chocolate was a little underwhelming since the dark chocolate was too bitter for me but I'm not much of a dark chocolate person so if you are, you might enjoy it still! This store always has a long line outside so be prepared to wait 15 min to get your order in. Camden market is a popping location so it won't feel long.
YES. It's absolutely delicious. I ordered the hot chocolate and it was next level -- rich, indulgent, and perfectly chocolatey. The torched marshmallow on top was the best part: warm, gooey on the inside with that lightly caramelized finish that made every sip feel extra special. Such a cozy treat and absolutely worth the stop. If you're in the area, don't skip this place -- it's a must! read more

Popped by after enjoying the stalls at Camden market. Was pleased that there were about three tables with enough seating to bring a party of five. Ordered the hot chocolate with the torched marshmallow and enjoyed the contrast between the rich dark hot chocolate and the sweet Smokey torched marshmallow fluff. There's not a lot of hot chocolate in the cup and when you recieve it it's SCALDING, so be careful when dipping your spoon in. They sell the hot chocolate for home as well and the fluff if you want to make your own at home, which I would recommend doing to get a bang for your buck. Will definitely come back to try their ice creams and other baked desserts, though be aware that they don't sell their tiramisu inspired ice cream here. read more

This place is expensive but I think it's worth the price tag. The quantity of ice cream you get in whatever dessert you pick is not a lot but the quality is superior. It's also a fun experience watching it get made. The brown butter caramel was the best flavor. read more

Chin Chin Labs is located in Camden Markets, and is just wow. If I lived in London, I would be make a beeline for Chin Chin every weekend as their ice cream is deliciously smooth and melt in your mouth. The secret? Liquid nitrogen! I only visited once, and tried only one flavour - Valrhona Chocolate 80%, topped with hazelnut crumb. It was absolutely divine and seriously the smoothest ice cream I have ever tried! Their hot chocolate is indulgence at its best. Topped with a generous dollop (think ice cream scoop sized) of toasted marshmallow fluff, the drink itself is reminiscent more of drinking chocolate (thicker, richer consistency) than a mug of the regular stuff. Check out the picture and that delicious mound of toasted marshmallow! This place is pretty popular, and as others have noted, outside of Camden market. There was a pretty steady queue while we were there, but it seemed like they were pretty efficient at getting orders out and preventing too long of a wait. The seating area is rather limited, so count yourself lucky if you're able to snag a seat. All in all, very happy with this treat! read more
Chin chin labs. So good and interesting. Not alot of flavors to offer up, but what they did have was fantastic. It only has a very small seating area, but since its inside Camden lock marketplace there are plenty of places to park your ass to enjoy this yummy ice cream delight. I highly recommend the salted caramel warmie. The flavors play nicely off each other. The chocolate earlier was delish also. What the warmie is is a warm brownie cookie with your choice of ice cream flavors (5 or so) and a chocolate sauce that hardens to a shell and the combination is so delicious. Just try it once and see if your hooked. read more

Came here on a mission. To try that beautiful cup of Hot Chocolatey goodness. It didn't disappoint. There was a line out the door early on a Sunday morning, but it didn't take too long to get inside. The hot chocolate comes with an extra large scoop of homemade marshmallow, which was super delicious. One of the best 'mallows I've probably ever tasted. It definitely paired super well with the hot chocolate. The hot chocolate itself is quality, but super, super rich and sweet. I was grateful I had a bottle of water with me. If you have a big sweet tooth, you'll love it. I personally couldn't finish it because it was that sweet, but I was sad about it, as it was delicious haha. If you're a big hot chocolate fan, you'll definitely want to hit this place up. read more

Must Visit if you are a lover of ice cream. The process of making it was nitrogen liquid makes it the smoothest, creamyist ice cream I've ever had. They have a limited menu which is great because with only 4 flavours and 3 serving options I still struggled to choose what I wanted. Staff were friendly and made suggestions to customers when asked. Even let some try the toppings to help the decision process. I had what they labeled their best seller the 'Brown-wich' cookie sandwich with Burnt caramel icecream. The chocolate cookies were delicious! I would also recommend the Chin Chin hot chocolate with Marshmallow Fluff! read more

Believe in SCIENCE! Liquid nitrogen makes the best ice cream in London. It's so smooth and fresh and with Chin Chin Labs you also get the theatre of N2 (lq) clouds, lab coats, safety googles and chemistry beakers. I'm a scientist myself and this place is heaven. I only wish health and safety would let me do this in my lab. The ice cream is 3.95 a go and well worth it, especially with the amazing sauces and fresh made imaginative toppings like pistachio and salt cracked sugar and purple marshmallows. Expect some cool experimental flavours of ice cream too. Today's special of mango and pepper was just wonderful and even cooler to have seen it as a fresh liquid smoothie just seconds earlier. Sorry FroYo, Gelato and Churned Creams... Chemistry wins the best ice cream award! read more
Silky, flavorful, and made to order, Chin Chin Labs was delicious! I've tried other nitro ice creams before and though the textures were nice, the flavors never quite impressed. I tried Chin Chin's chocolate and burnt butter caramel flavors and they were right on the mark. The chocolate packed a punch but it was not too overwhelming while the burnt butter caramel had the flavor of the toasted sugar on a creme brulee. The texture is super smooth thanks to their whole process and I thought the ice cream base was very creamy as well. I tried the burnt caramel as a "warmie" which meant that it came with the brownie cookie on the bottom and covered with a chocolate shell. I was pretty passive about the cookie but did enjoy the shell with the ice cream. I think with ice cream, I prefer it paired with a really fudgey brownie rather than the dense cookie brownie. For the chocolate, we had it topped with the honey comb which added a nice light crunch. Each scoop of ice cream includes one topping, most of which are novel such as grilled white chocolate and truffle crumble. This place is tiny and the queue easily stretches outside around it, even on a cold day like on the one I went on (never too cold for ice cream in my book though). It moves quickly enough though and the staff were pleasant. There are a few tables inside the store, but since the space is so crammed, it's probably better to enjoy elsewhere. read more
The best hot chocolate I have ever had! Served in a bowl & spoon bc the marshmallow makes the chocolate overflowwww! So be careful on the first scoop. Very small location with only 4 tables. Line moves decently fast. Loved the marshmallow fluff I got on the hot chocolate. Takes cash and card. read more

You can't miss this place - it's the one with the swings outside. It's definitely fun to watch, and interesting to try the odd favour of the day! - I had the peanut-butter jelly. It tastes nice, and the texture is noticeably smoother :) Recommended especially for the novelty value! read more

Based in bustling Camden lock market, chin chin labs freezes its ever changing ice cream flavours on the spot using nitrogen. Staff are always super friendly and the portion sizes just keep getting larger and larger. I couldn't even finish my gigantic scoop of matcha marshmallow ice cream today! read more
Right outside Camden market is where Chin Chin makes magic happen! They make ice cream with liquid nitrogen right in front of you! They only have three flavors: vanilla, chocolate, and a rotating flavor. You can add different toppings to the ice cream and my favorite was the grilled white chocolate. I still dream about that white chocolate. I wish I bought a bag of it. The ice cream itself was pretty standard, but it was the experience of the liquid nitrogen and the white chocolate that brought it up to a whole other level. read more
Tried the salted caramel ice cream, it's a great concept and was quite good but not the best ice cream I've had. Their hot cocoa looks really good! I wish I got to try it but I was too full at that time. Small shop, super friendly staff and good to try if you're here. read more

Review #4 Being able to get ice cream on the instant, without having to wait for it to cool down is a big perk. The staff use physics and liquid nitrogen - which is rarely found - to create these awesome desserts. People often refer to Chin Chin as the best place to get ice cream in London. The texture and taste is really something you'll remember. Smooth and almost melting in your mouth, but still cool enough to be ice cream. They offer a wide rage of flavours and toppings you'll get obsessed with. I tried a brownie cookie, massive scoop of ice cream, molten chocolate shell & extra hazelnut sand -An absolute ice cream sexiness. I never expected chemical reactions to be so delicious. read more

Ice cream out of thin air? Yes please! Liquid nitrogen gives a great theatrical effect while you wait in line to enter the cafe (more like Dexter's Lab for desserts!!!) We got a vanilla bean ice cream scoop with a brownie underneath and melted chocolate on top. The ice cream was smooth and flavorful, the brownie was nice and chewy, and the chocolate topping was pure dark chocolate bliss, very decadent dessert. They have seasonal/monthly flavors so stay on the lookout for those if you're interested in something different. The hot chocolate with marshmallow top is very popular too, but I haven't tried it. read more
These folks have mastered the concept of nitro ice cream. They take natural ingredients and whip up a unique dessert in a made-to-order/customized fashion. From liquid to perfectly formed ball of ice cream, you can dress it up with specialty toppings such as house-made honey comb, pistachio and cardamom powder, a selection of sauces, or my favorite, the "grilled white chocolate," which tastes and feels like a space ice cream/bark chocolate hybrid. All these toppings are also for sale in packaged form to-go. Though the flavor selections are minimal, I am sure there is something for everyone from the valrhona chocolate to tonka bean & vanilla to the flashier flavor of burnt butter caramel (which is amazing, and has a bit of saltiness to it as well). They also rotate out a weekly special flavor so keep an eye out for that one. There are a selections of coffee and teas available as well, which is a good idea since the ice cream and toppings tend to run on the really really sweet side. If you add in the cookie 'wiches, it cuts the sweetness a bit as well (regardless of conventional wisdom on that front). Be prepared to shell out a bit more than you'd normally pay for a scoop of gelato or ice cream, but hey, this is novelty in the heart of Camden Lock Market, all natural ingredients, and hand-made to order. I followed my heart and it took me here! 4.5 - Love the hot chocolate, dislike the small space! It's so entertaining to watch the laboratorists to make the nitrogen ice cream and handmade marshmallow. I can't believe how many times I've passed by this place in Camden without noticing them. They have about 3-4 tables for people to sit. The queue is not long, but quite slow. I felt like a competition to get a seat in the place to drink my hot chocolate. However, it's common as it's the nature of London. I still love them nevertheless! Tip: Cash only read more
I really appreciate creative endeavours. I like them even if they fail. Chin Chin Laboratories fortunately are far from failure. If anyone came short it was me for not doing more research and ordering the most basic vanilla pod portion in a traditional cone. It was excellent, dont get me wrong. I just think I could have been more adventurous in my choice and so I will definitely revisit and update this review. Still, novelty and quality go hand to hand here! read more
