Ok I'll give you an idea of how good this place is: my lady prohibited me to get here otherwise she would be too jealous about the idea of me having one more ice cream from Gelatorino with respect to her? Is it enough? London seriously lacks on the ice cream panorama: I mean there are a couple of bad chains (I'm looking at you, Haagen Dasz and Amorino), another pretty good gelateria (Gelupo) but other than that... well.. frankly speaking other ice cream shops are mainly suffering from two of the common issues with ice cream, lack of flavors and heavy ice cream, transforming what it should be a wonderful snack to a heavy unpleasant experience. But here, oh no sir, not here! The ice cream is as delicious as you can conceive: basic flavors (fiordilatte, chocolate, hazelnuts and so on) are extremely tasteful, and the ice cream is rich without being too fat, at the right temperature (not frozen) and with a perfect texture. An ice cream to die for. First timers, try Fiordilatte: I know it seems odd to go for such a basic flavor but believe me, your first time will be amazing! I was sitting outside eating food from a different bakery because this one wasn't open yet. The worker had the door open and I was watching her get the store ready when I noticed she was tasting multiple containers of gelato with THE SAME SPOON! I thought sure enough I was missing something and she was switching spoons but when I took a closer look, sure enough she was using the same spoon on multiple tubs of gelato. Gelatorino was one of our ice cream stops while we were in London. They boasted outside seating and the service was quite good. The honey ordered his usual, some nutty pistachio (which we got with chopped pistachio on top) and I ordered a scoop of the pear sorbet. Both were quite good and the only real neutral for me was that the seating was a bit of an afterthought whereas for Morelli's Gelato right down the street the seating was incredibly comfortable and stylish. I think if they made the seating a bit nicer it would have been a full 5 stars for me, but all in all it was definitely a nice stop for a scoop in London. read more

We were looking for a ice cream shop in central London and a doorman sent us to the Gelatorino. When we walked in they were making fresh crepes and It smelled heavenly inside. I picked Salted Caramel and chocolate for my husband. It was rich and dense and creamy and the waffle cone was delicious. I highly recommend this for your Gelato desires. read more

Despite the freezing weather today, Gelatorino's promise of fresh made gelato was too much to resist You can tell that the gelato is fresh because the gelato making machines are in the shop. They also bake their other products in the store I like fruit flavours and the orange cream was right up my street. I got a small gelato for £3 (my wallet cried a little especially when I saw how small the small was) and was able to get two flavors. The only thing that I did not like was that I wasn't able to see all the flavors because there were covers on all of them! :( Maybe that's to keep their freshness??? I don't know. But I wish I could have been able to see all the flavors before choosing. I got the Breakfast in Turin and the Old Fashioned Cream. The Breakfast in Turin is a coffee ice cream with chocolate chips and the Old Fashioned Cream had an egg cream base with candied oranges throughout. I really loved both! Of the two, I like the Old Fashioned Cream better; I thought it was more unique - something I wouldn't be able to find in a grocery store if you know what I mean! My buddy got the Apple sorbet and Chocolate Chip. The apple sorbet = SO GOOD! Next time, I will definitely be trying one of their fruit sorbets. What a great find in the Covent Garden area. We had a delicious latte and each had crepes for lunch. Wife and I each had savory crepes with Parma ham and cheese for me and pesto, tomato, and mozzarella. Both very good. I liked hers a little more than mine but happy either way. Sooooooooo good. Covent Garden is crazy on the weekends so there was a line when I came here on a sunny Saturday afternoon but it moved pretty quickly. Staff is friendly. I got the chocolate-hazelnut and the vegan coffee choc chip (I think call breakfast in Turin). The combo was amazing, the coffee choc chip was a bit bitter by itself. Beware, the hours listed online are NOT the hours they are actually open. I know because we got there and it was long closed! We came the next evening and I was very happy we did! They don't display their gelato (which my boyfriend told me means it's better?), so you have to rely on your personal preferences and the flavor listing on the chalkboard. Whatever you choose, you will not regret it. Portions are smallish, particularly if you're used to super-sized US portions, but you don't need much. I went with a vanilla and chocolate gelato in a cone, definitely a safe choice but the choices were pretty standard I wasn't expecting to be disappointed. They were what I expected in term of texture for a gelato but they had barely any flavour. I have had better chocolate and vanilla from supermarket brands. Whenever I go to Italy, I have gelato at least twice a day. It's a weakness of mine, I admit. Gelatorino is a cut above your average cafe. For starters, on stepping inside, one is greeted, not with the aroma of coffee, but of chocolate. There's some kind of tap which runs melted chocolate, Willy Wonka style. And the ice cream... It's the best gelato I've eaten outside of Italy, and let me tell you, I've sampled a lot. The range of flavours is not extensive, but there's a decent variety of the classics, and a few specials. Me? I always get the hazelnut and the pistachio, as I never get those at my supermarket. You can tell that the people making the gelato are artisans who care about the quality of their product. It's flavourful, rich, creamy and with no chemical aftertaste or fatty deposit on the tongue. Unlike a more popular ice cream store (whose products are widely available in the shops), Gelatorino's friendly employees offer a fast, efficient service, so the ice cream is delivered at the right temperature. So if it's that great, why not five stars? Sometimes I've ordered other items on the menu, such as hot chocolate, crepes, etc. Although nice enough, the other dishes don't quite meet the same superlative standard of the gelato.
