Just ordered uber eats and was unable to finish my food. The lemon chicken was woody and the sauce was flavorless. The orange beef was mushy and in an indeterminate sauce that mostly just seemed like corn syrup. The rice was mushy. I am not trying to be a hater but even the fortune cookie was gross. My family and I placed a really large order instead of cooking Thanksgiving this year because no one really felt like cooking or cleaning up. I had my parents order as well as my order and others all written out with prices next to it and with what would've been my total cost. Needless to say I was surprised when my order was about $13 more than I had anticipated. It seems the menu that I picked up the same day the prices had gone up at the minimum $.75 per item. The food is actually pretty good and it's pretty standard Chinese food. I will say that the happy family was a little spicy but still very good. They do have coupons where if you spend over $38 you get a free General Tso's chicken. I would go back again, but I just wish the menu was updated so I knew exactly what my total cost was going to be. read more

I must say the food is great. The customer service is horrible. This lady is rude and is always messing up an order. First time ordering there, I asked for bean sprouts, she gave me extra onion because they didn't have bean sprout and didn't say that until I got there to pick up my food. I love this place. I was hesitant to come here at first because of all the reviews, but it's too convenient for me to pass up. I ordered the shrimp fu yung, wonton soup and shrimp egg rolls . The meal was delicious, crunchy and not to much salt . This was the first time I have eaten there The egg rolls weren't greasy and neither was the main course. I was thrilled to have purchased something that I liked which wasn't old or greasy. Sean fought for ya, China Express. I was going to go with one star. But the hubby fought for the two. He says 'come on a one is exceptionally awful, that was just bad.' Ok, so two stars.....still no good. Sean got General Tso chicken and I went with my old standby Kung Pau chicken. Some things I got to say about this... 1. Um....mystery meat. Close to the nastiest 'meat' ever. Super gristly....there was maybe one piece of chicken that actually resembled edible meat. Gross gross gross. 2. The rice that came with both dishes was bright yellow. Tasted ok, just looked super weird. Not sure why you would serve this rather than your normal steamed white rice. 3. The veggies were good, and the sauce on my Kung Pao was pretty yummy and adequately spicy. But just not enough to offset the nasty meat factor. 4. Egg rolls - overcooked and relatively flavorless. The workers here are Chinese of course which means when you order it seems as if there is a sense of urgency when you order which can be nerve racking so I recommend that you know what you want prior to ordering. The food portions are packed to max in the containers that you get when you get your food to go. I have never dined in. There are two or three tables inside that you can stay and eat in but I've always ordered from home. The food is delicious. I have tried several other Chinese places around and this one ranks up there as one of the better ones. The delivery times are quick so don't think you can go run errands and come back in time. They are usually earlier than they say by 10 minutes or so. The menu has great variety and specials. If you don't have a coupon and you order a large amount of food, just ask if you can get anything for free, they'll give you something. I would also recommend J and C Chinese take out in Rocky River. Ordered online, paid with a credit card, delivery showed up in about 45 minutes. I was really hungry so I did call around 30 minutes in just to make sure they actually got my order and that it wasn't lost in space, they had, and all was right with the world. I was lucky enough to stumble upon this Chinese food place when I bought my house, and in almost 3 years it is the only place I will order from. I have recommended it to many people, who now continue to choose this restaurant as their go-to Chinese Takeout place. The food is always amazing, and there is plenty of it. The menu is huge and includes many different options, including chicken tenders and french fries which have come in handy for picky children. 5:49pm - Placed an order and waited over an hour and no delivery. 6:47 - Called to check on order, busy signal. 6:52 - Called again, busy again. 6:55 - Called again, got through to a woman who asked what my phone number was and said she didn't have an order under that number. I then told her I had an order confirmation number and she ask what my total was and I told her it was about $30. She then quoted the exact price of $30.45 back to me as if to ask if that was my order. I said yes, and she again immediately said she didn't have my order. Didn't make much sense seeing as how she knew my exact bill total which I brought to her attention. Once she realized she was caught in her lie she said she would have the order ready in 20 minutes. Don't know how she'll have ready if she didn't have my order because I never told her what I ordered during our conversation. UPDATE: 7:43 - It's now been nearly 2 hours since original order. No sign of food. Called again and spoke with the same woman who immediately recognized who I was and said they are very busy and next time I ordered they would give me a discount. I'm never really impressed with Chinese food but I just ordered from here for the 1st time & it's fantastic. Chicken Egg Foo Young - a huge portion, enough for 3 meals for me. Fried chicken dumplings - I love these but don't usually order from others because they always have some phantom weird crunchy parts that freak me out. These don't have those! The dipping sauce is very flavorful & salty (in a good way). Order extra because you'll love it. Chicken fried rice - all the chicken is white meat. The onions in it are bite size so it's not overwhelming. It's not very flavorful on its own but I buy Yum-Yum Sauce from Giant Eagle & smother it with that. Delivery was quick. Definitely only ordering from here from now on. Also - they have free items if you spend a certain amount. I got 3 Crab Rangoon for spending $12+. read more

Good Chinese food is hard to come by. Specially a good delivery place. China Express has you covered. Open late, with a great english speaking telephone person, with options of having soda, beer, smokes, and wraps, delivered right to your door! And mind you its in little to no time. I always choose a form of chicken at every chinese place i go to. Schezwan, Govenors, Chicken and Broccoli, cajan. I have had all these from china express, and they were amazing. They always remember silverware and sauce, but you have to ask for the chopsticks! OH~! just be careful, the last fortune cookie i got from there said " come back later... i am sleeping! Oh my gosh. I'm sorry, but this was terrible. We ordered takeout late last night for delivery. We both ordered Chicken Teriyaki, but you wouldn't know that from what we received. It was mushy, strangely flavored breaded lumps of meat that tasted nothing like teriyaki - and nothing like chicken for that matter. It tasted like breaded fat. I'm not gonna front -- this is a Chinese take-out place. It's cheap, it's fast, it's friendly, and I've never had any problem with the grub I've gotten from this place. It's the closest Chinese take-out to my apartment, which alone means that I've been to this place probably more times than I've been to my own kitchen. Just had a sweet & sour chicken combo dinner and I regret ordering it so much. The rice taste like plastic... I am not exaggerating a bit. It lacked so much flavor. The chicken was incredibly chewy and tasted like old grease. I'm not expecting gourmet but the food was horrible. I just ordered from another Chinese delivery place and their crappy food inspired me to leave a good review for China Express. I am giving this 4 stars based on how it sizes up to every other Chinese restaurant's food that I've had delivered to my house. Maybe that is not setting the bar that high, because in my experience, Chinese delivery is generally on par with fast food like McDonald's or Taco Bell. But when I am craving some Chinese delivery because I am too damn lazy to get off the couch and get some "real" food, this is always a place I come back to. We decided to try this place as it was on my way home from work and we had a taste for Chinese Food. Unfortunately, after waiting 25 minutes for take out we did not get very good tasting food. Some observations: 1. Customer service: Practically non existent. I watched the woman behind the counter snap at people on the phone and make nasty comments after hanging up. There were many people calling asking where their food was because it had been over an hour and she was arguing with them regarding the length of time they had waited. She would continue talking about how "dumb" they were after hanging up. I heard her say to one person, "just cancel your order if you don't like". She was irritated with us for asking about the order we had been told would take 10-15 minutes when it was at 25 minutes. 2. Portion size: We got a 3 person family dinner. The containers with the General Tso chicken, shredded beef Szchewan and moo goo gai pan had VERY LITTLE meat in them, had vegetables flooded with sauce and half filled with rice, in addition to the separate containers of rice. The dinner was primarily rice that was greasy. The egg rolls, were greasy, half filled crusts and fairly limp. There was not enough real food to feed a family of three. 3. Taste: POOR. Very little taste. There was no spice in the sczhewan and the General Tso chicken was mainly breading. The soup as salty water. We will not be ordering there again. read more

I would give no stars if I could. Up until today I have never had a problem with their food or service. But, I won't be ordering from them again. They are very unprofessional. I ordered my food for delivery and in about a half of an hour the delivery guy was buzzing my apartment. I let him in and he came up and gave me my food but, said he had forgotten his credit card machine and just turned and left! I was like "OMG... What was that about?" 10 minutes later I get a call from some girl at the restaurant with a snippy attitude saying that "she was calling because, I needed to pay for my food"... (As if to insinuate that I was somehow trying to rip them off!) so, she asked for my card number and I gave it to her. Then she asked for it again. And, AGAIN I gave it to her. Then she asked me to speak slower and give her the card number AGAIN! Then she said "that it had went through and thank you have a good night." I thought this was the end of the aggravation, apparently NOT. 5 minutes later I get a call from then AGAIN!!! While they have sent someone back here again buzzing at my door at the same time!!! And, this time after I answer she puts the manager on the phone who argues with me for over 15 minutes saying my card didn't go through. By this point I'm thinking I've been charged about 7 or 8 times for one order of two combination platters and an appetizer! I told the manager; "I bet him a million dollars that the payment goes through and, that it's quite obvious the people he has working there are incompetent and don't know how to input a credit card number" so, he runs it and drum roll... IT GOES THROUGH. I have never dealt with such incompetent and argumentative people in my life! It's bad for business and, you lose customers... They have definitely lost one today! First time ordering from here and it will be my last. I ordered a quart of the Moo Goo Gai Pan. Over half of the quart was mushrooms. I order this dish for the chicken, the different vegetables, and sauce (not just mushrooms). Even after I took out the disproportionate amount of mushrooms, the quality of the food was poor. There was very little chicken and the sauce was bland. I understand it's delivery chinese, but this was the worst experience I've had from delivery chinese food. read more

Like Ace of Base says: I saw the Sign. I read all my fellow Yelpers reviews and should of known. Stopped here for lunch on my way home and got bourbon chicken and wonton. Stuff I have ordered numerous times before. I guess I am spoiled that First Wok in Euclid make super good versions of both. THIS version on the other hand, not so much. The bourbon chicken was breaded first off and tasted like orange chicken. No amount of me chugging Makers Mark made this taste like bourbon but in the eternal words of Harland "Colonel" Sanders : "Im too drunk to taste this chicken"...which didnt hold true for me! Also, the wonton broth had ZERO flavor and the wrappers they used were too thick and/or not cooked enough. Typical with most Chinese take-away spots they are friendly but getting more that 2 packets of hot sauce requires an act of Liu Fuling himself! Stuff here is cheap but ya get what ya pay for. NEVER AGAIN. I am SO upset. I ordered food at 7:15pm, it is now 9:22pm. I have called 3 times and each time they have said they were on their way. I live less than a mile away. I am totally furious and even if the food ever does arrive, it's going to be cold and disgusting. Don't go here. Save yourself the anguish.
