    Lo Mein

I would recommend steering clear of Szechwan Garden. The Lo Mein was inedible - the noodles were mush, little to no veggies and the chicken and shrimp were over cooked and very rubbery. I picked out the meat for my dog and threw the noodles in the trash. The Hot and Sour Soup was VERY sour and barely had any "hot" and definitely no sinus clearing wave of heat. It tasted (and looked) like egg drop sour that they had added some veg, a bit of pork and a A LOT of vinegar to it. My spring roll was "ok" in taste but was not drained coming out of the fryer and I ended up with quarter and dime sized grease stains on my sweater and jeans (fingers crossed they come out). While their price point was good there was absolutely no value since it the leftovers are going into the bin. It was very disappointing. Service was fine. They do give you homemade hot mustard but if the food isn't edible what's the point?

General Tsos Chicken and Crab Rangoon ...this is half the portion I got. Portions are generous

Best general tsos I've had in awhile! Love that they give you the option of picking your spice level. I ordered medium and it was perfect. A good kick without being overwhelming. My only comment would be that I would like the chicken just a touch crispier. I also ordered the crab Rangoon equally as delicious. Portion sizes are generous! My below picture is 1/3 the chicken and rice they gave me. And half of the crab Rangoon.

All I can say is I don't know how the ratings are this high. My girlfriend and her mom both said it tasted Bad and the rice was very sticky and so was the noodles..... my girlfriends mom ordered secshuan chicken and it was all nuts barely chicken. Beef lo mein was more like is this beef? Or not couldn't tell.. I'm my opinion chopsticks express and wasabi express blow this out of the water... don't waste ur time. Only reason I'm even giving it a 1 star is because my chicken was actually a little spicy. Sorry if we just had a bad day but won't be going back

Just ok. I'll admit working in Asiatown has spoiled me and made me a bit biased but this was just, ok. Nothing remarkable but not to awful except for the zen fried chicken, that was pretty bad.

Really solid food, I love their huge vegan menu! This time we ordered the zen boneless ribs, zen retreat soup, taste of nirvana, and vegetarian peking pan fried noodles. The ribs were very good, in my opinion. The soup was a little bland and not really what was explained to us by the staff, as it really only included seaweed and tofu rather than an array of vegetables (which is what they had said). It was still good but I don't know if I would order it again. The taste of nirvana and pan fried noodles were great!! All in all, this place has a lot of appeal with their large menu and will surely have something for everyone to enjoy. I'm excited to come back and try more of the options on the "zen menu" like the vegan fish, shrimp, and lobster.

This is my new favorite Chinese Restaurant! I'm vegan and they have so many options on their Zen menu. Here's what I got: -Zen Spareribs - yumm!! 10/10 - Zen Chicken Wings - seriously the cutest things ever. Little chunks of vegan chicken on a wooden skewer. These were life-changing! 10/10 - Zen General Tso's Chicken - delicious! 10/10 - Zen Wonton Soup - meh, I'd skip this next time. The wontons were very bland. 3/10 My poor boyfriend got taken super out of the way going to pick this up "because of a Google Maps issue" they told him after finally calling from the road in confusion. The food was delicious, especially recommending if you're vegan and looking for a Chinese food (or chicken wing!) fix!

The beginning of my lunch special. Delicious hot and sour soup and an egg roll.

Stumbled on this place and glad I did. Food is awesome. I had a yummy lunch special of Szechuan veggies. The hot and sour soup was delicious.! Great egg rolls. The real test will be on the return and my husband tests the general Taos for him that is the make or break. So watch for my update it won't be that long off. I would certainly check this place out at least for a lunch special

    Orange Beef?????? WTF?
    Sherry B.

There is no way this was Orange Beef. Either they got my order wrong or their interpretation of Orange Beef is messed up. Either way, it was awful.

Ordered takeout from here. I got the zen scallops and fried noodles. The zen scallops were odd and came in a weird disk shape. At first I didn't even realize what they were. The shrimp was also odd and not like anything I have ever ever seen. It was also rather bland and there was a lot of water at the bottom of the container. The saving grace was the fried noodles, which are some of the best I've had, and the only reason I'm giving three stars.

Great meals with philosophical friends (1 of 2)…read more My friend who hails from and now again lives in the western suburbs of CLE introduced me to Joe's Fine Deli and this Chinese restaurant - King Wah - which are considered area gold standards for their respective cuisines and have stood the test of time. My friend said that they might have done some remodeling and might be "off line." Their website and my phone call confirmed that they were open for business. Thus, going here was then easily agreed upon. I don't write too many reviews for Chinese restaurants. That said, allow me to be a jerk and bring up some dynamics I see - not so much with Asian food - but with consumers of Asian food. In the tech suburbs on Portland's west side, I have been in eateries where WASPy and "boring as watching paint dry" techies come in for a take-out order of lunch. These same guys sing the praises for Thai and Indian food, which they order with a high spice quotient, and I wonder if it's to counterbalance their lack of personal pep. I have eaten spicy food from these regions on a few occasions that I ordered in "dumbed down" form, my nose ran the entire time, and I wound up later going home sick. Back to King Wah. I'm open to ethnically diverse food. It just cannot be spicy. King Wah serves up the broad spectrum of Cantonese staples that Americans often choose and love. They might offer some menu items beyond Cantonese ones. Spicy items on the menu are clearly identified with the "hot pepper" icon. For me, ordering in a Chinese restaurant is a no-brainer. Is it going to be cashew chicken, lemon chicken, or beef broccoli? I had the cashew chicken. My friend ordered one of the fish entrees. We sampled each other's food and both dishes received the nod of approval. I liked my cashew chicken because it was a very satisfying larger portion that was also very tasty. The interior is clean and features some of the decor you may often see in Chinese restaurants. The service was excellent - low key, polite, and informative. Because the fried rice is "sold" separately, the overall tab might be a tad higher, but not by much. I will now go off on another tangent. I ponder some strange angles to situations. It's obvious that the management and most of the staff at King Wah might hail from China. I wonder what it must be like to come to the U.S., open a restaurant in a catchment area that is mostly non-ethnic Americans, and become the greatest thing since sliced bread to your customer base. I'm just trying to process their perceptions and acclimation along a trek that non-ethnic Americans will never experience. (For what it's worth, my foreign-born parents certainly went through this, albeit not as restauranteurs.) It's all good because it happens to every immigrant group that opens up what become popular restaurants in the U.S. and Canada and it's an interesting thing to watch unfold ... at least to me. Again, I don't partake in this cuisine often, but when I'm ready to go, I'm ready! I'm not giving this restaurant 5 stars because I was hoping that that dollop of fried rice would have come with the meal, but King Wah is clearly a 4 star experience and I would recommend it highly to aficionados of more mainstream Cantonese Chinese cuisine.

Food was ready when I arrived, and the woman at the bar who handled the takeout orders was pleasant. The problem was the food itself. My son enjoyed his Orange Chicken, and the crab Rangoon and egg rolls were good. However, my General Tso's chicken was not very good at all. Mostly breading, and what chicken existed was overcooked and tough. I will not be ordering that dish again from here. I'll try another one of my favorites next time, but I can make better General Tso's at home using my air fryer.

The sauce wasn't particularly flavorful and the beef wasn't very plentiful in the dish either. It wasn't good nor was it bad. It was the very definition of 3 stars (what the kids today might call "mid"). It got the job done but it wasn't what you would call memorable. Maybe some other dishes might have been worth trying but I have to say no one in my group was knocked out by their orders and we all got something different so I'm not exactly confident I would have a different outcome if I had selected something else. Also, in regards to delivery set up, they didn't provide enough silverware so one person from my party had to eat their noodles with a spoon. I was lucky enough to get a fork but it was definitely not sturdy enough to handle the thicker noodles that came with the pad see ew and it would bend when I attempted to pick up more than a single noodle or piece of beef. If you're ordering for meal at home, this might not be an issue but, if you're out somewhere without access to proper /additional utensils this could be something worth considering.

When we got sat, it took around 15 minutes for a server to greet us and when she did, the energy shifted. I understand people have bad days but the tip percentage is decided upon the quality of service. A bitter attitude and a lack of attention is not the usual expectation when dining out. When our appetizer arrived, disappointed accompanied it. The Bang Bang Shrimp has always been a crowd favorite; this time around it was burnt yet soggy pieces of shrimp. The sauce was enveloped by the taste of frying oil, causing the flavor to be bitter. By the time our entrees arrived, morale was at an all time low but the first bite of my roll made up for it. The Ichiban roll is unique- asparagus with spicy salmon and yellow tail may sound bizarre but it works. I've come to the conclusion that Sakana is purely a sushi restaurant. I have never been displeased by the quality and flavor of the sushi. Henceforth I will be ordering off the sushi menu and I recommend you do the same.
