Ordered carry out from China Fun yesterday. Food was ready very quickly and hot, but the large Shrimp Fried Rice only included a few small shrimp (mostly on top), a reasonable amount of chopped yellow onion. 96% was just yellow colored rice. I don't expect a lot from carry out Chinese food, but it contained no scrambled egg, no scallions, no seasoning, no peas, no carrots or any other ingredients. 'Been eating Chinese for over 60 years. This represents the poorest example of shrimp fried rice I have ever had. I live nearby and can confirm the quality of their food has deteriorated drastically over the past 5 years. In the past I tried to give them the benefit off the doubt in an effort to support local small family businesses, but the good will is over after purchasing from their menu for over 10 years. The prices are currently at least 25% higher than what's advertised in online menus. In the future, I will drive a bit farther to Daphne for ANY Chinese food. It was insultingly poor quality food and I honestly don't think they care. Feeling really ripped off, I've finally concluded they are in it exclusively for the money and nothing more these days. They finally and permanently lost me as a customer. If a competing Chinese restaurant opened in Spanish Fort, they'd be out of business as quickly as the word got out to the locals. read more

China Fun is a small Chinese restaurant with more of an emphasis on takeout and is an overall decent spot if you are in the area and wanting New York style takeout Chinese restaurant. The menu is what you wouod expect from a takeout focused New York style Chinese food menu, but that is perfectly fine and appreciated. These culinary offerings are tasty and embraced by so many as culinary favorites. Service was quick and I had my meal in no time flat. This little restaurant is a great to go place for Chinese. It has 2 tables inside. I've been coming here for my family for take out for over 4 years now. I have never had a bad experience with the food, the workers or anything. The food is very good! Delicious! The prices are not crazy either. You can get a meal (minus the drink unless you buy it) for the price of a whopper meal. Idk about you but I'd rather have quality food over quick junk. Oh and the average wait time is 10-15 minutes! The lady has been here forever. She's very sweet and I think her husband works with her. The place is always clean too. I have been to the Dragon buffet down the road for years too and I much prefer to come here. If this lady ever decides to open a buffet....she will CRUSH any competition! Called in an order to china fun and it had to have been the worst takeout order we have ever gotten. The generals Tao chicken looked and tasted like it had been setting on a food bar for days. The fried dumplings tasted burnt and the egg rolls crunchy on the outside and a little under cooked on the inside. We weren't even able to eat it. Big waste of money read more

Sort if the quintessential "hole in the wall" with amazing food!!! Their egg drop soup is so good! And the fried rice was truly the best I've ever had. I saw that exact same review for the rice, and was a little skeptical going in. No joke. Best rice I've ever had! Friendly, but not overly. Only two tables to sit at so plan on taking it to go. My husband wasn't a fan of the general gso chicken. And it was cold. But mine was good.

The young man taking orders could care less about he customers. We were very friendly and brick could not break his stone face. My meal was Hunan Shrimp dinner was very heavy to a point that I could not eat it all. My wife said hers was OK but nothing to write home about. The pack of noodles they gave us were very stale not consumable. Also, no fortune cookie was included with our meal. We were very disappointed in just about everything with one exception. Our favorite dishes are: Orange Chicken: Real orange chicken... not the crap you find in a bag. Fresh and delicious with orange slices on a bed of broccoli. So good!!! Sweet and Sour Chicken: this barely makes it in the house! I have to literally stop my kids from eating it all before I'm able to get a few pieces! Remarkable breaded pieces of chicken with sweet and sour sauce on the side. Fantastic! Broccoli and Beef: Sooo much flavor and broccoli is tender, but not over cooked. Beef is tender and flavorful... amazing on all fronts! Mongolian Beef: If you like great food with a kick! This is the dish...the beef is tender and spicy. Onions are cooked perfectly and the sauce goes wonderfully on everything. Vegetable LoMain: noodles are perfectly cooked, seasoning is on point. This dish is a must! We haven't ordered takeout here since moving back into the area and It seems they have improved. We ordered moo goo gai pan, chicken fried rice, chicken wings, and a Kung pao chicken combination, which were all very good. Pleasantly surprised and will definitely be ordering from here again. This place is the absolute best Chinese food on the eastern shore. I get the Singapore Mei Fun almost every week and every single time. The spicy noodles are just the right amount of heat and all of the meats mixed in are so tasty. I should have known better when you walk into the place and there are bugs flying around everywhere and then it took lest than a couple of minutes to have the food made. Looking at the other reviews, I feel I must have caught them on a bad day. As far as the menu, it's just like every other a strip mall Chinese food place. Same menus, same decor, same pictures. Not much in the way of atmosphere. There are a few tables, but you might prefer to take it to go. I ordered weekday lunch: the kung pao chicken combo and crab rangoon. The crab rangoon was excellent. Better than most places. Rich and creamy. Perfection. Two stars for it. Unfortunately, the kung pao chicken was terrible. It, along with the pork fried rice, tasted and smelled burned. I asked for extra spicy, but it still wasn't all that hot. I spat the egg roll out after the first bite. I didn't like it, but I don't normally like egg rolls, so your mileage may vary. It's fast and cheap, and the cashier was nice. If your expectations are low and hunger is high, this may work out better for you. As for me, I'll skip it next time. read more

Outstanding food. Stopped in while traveling through the area, and ordered Singapore noodles and roast pork with broccoli, my go-to favorites. Both were among the best I've found anywhere. The Singapore mei fun was prepared with just enough fire and curry to give it a zing, without being overpowering. Lots of chicken, shrimp and beef as well. Yum. The roast pork was, unlike most places, real roast pork, big chunks of it. No wafer thin stir fry here. Even the broccoli was perfectly cooked. Highly recommend this place! read more

I hate giving out 1 star unless something awful is involved, so this is the best I can do for China Fun. This place is a quick walking distance from my home but I had never ever been and had a hankering for some Kung Pao and was lacking the ingredients to make my own. Don't go. I should have just walked out. I immediately felt like I was an inconvenience to these people, Not friendly is being nice, It was if I had irritated them by pulling out my wallet. It also smelled a bit odd inside. My order was to-go and while I waited the telephone rang a few times (lunch) and was ignored. It was a bit amusing because I was a walk-in, but geez! No one else has commented on this but my meal was salty as hell! It also didn't smell right. It went in the trash. Portions are big. The menu is typical Chinese carry-out. The prices were OK if the food would have been edible. I knew better than to try to call in so I chalked it up to "lesson to be learned" category. Hate trashing a local business, especially after only one experience! It was the lack of care by the personnel that led me to this review, more so than the yucky food. The hot & sour soup was probably the best I've ever had -- & would say the same about the egg roll. However, the pork fried rice & Kung Pao Chicken had an overpowering taste of "old grease". I think they both would have been 5 star without that old grease taste that is incredibly hard to get rid off because the abundance of sauce & veggies in the Kung Pao was impressive! I'd give them another chance but not quite sure how to ask someone if the grease is fresh.... That is the only reason it will be a while before I return for anything other than the soup. read more

We had China Fun today as our regular chinese restaurant was closed. The food was absolutely awful! We ordered the General Tso's chicken lunch special, sesame chicken lunch special and shrimp fried rice. I thought the food was covered in bbq sauce but upon calling the restaurant I was informed that it was ketchup in the sauce. I have never had anything like this before and I get Chinese every week. This is definitely not what I'm accustomed to. Also the egg rolls must have been sitting out for a while as they were dark brown and dried out. The restaurant did not offer to rectify the situation. Best Chinese food I've had in the area. It's takeout but they do have a few tables so you cab eat there. I would recommend calling ahead with your order because they make everything fresh and it usually takes around 30 minutes for your order to be ready. read more

My mom has been eating here at least once every 2 weeks if not every week for awhile now. It has always been good, except for today. I picked up some soup, and it tasted nothing like it normally does and it wasn't good AT ALL. When we called, the woman working there was very rude and said she did not care at all if we didn't like the soup. Really? Won't ever be going here again even though it is less than 5 mins from my house. Besides that, it was about $5 more than it usually is and we order the same things every time. This place looks like your typical Chinese take-out but OMG it's SO good!! We ordered combination fried rice, general tso's chicken, egg rolls, and crab rangoons. Everything was delicious! The chicken wasn't drowned in sauce, the fried rice almost had a smokey flavor to it and the egg rolls were perfect, not full of cabbage like most egg rolls. I personally think this is the best Chinese available on the Eastern Shore. The food is fresh and hot, the vegetables don't taste like they've been frozen (nice crisp texture), and the egg rolls are delicious - not at all soggy. Not much seating available, but it's a reliable choice for takeout - just call ahead, and it's ready when you get there. Very reasonably priced, too.
