I LOVE the lo mein here! The main dishes are, simply put, average. I've ordered delivery multiple times, all large orders, and it's always been correct. The restaurant is usually very prompt with delivery orders, but the last time I ordered my food took 2 hours to arrive. I called after an hour and a half. It was hot, and didn't taste reheated when it arrived. So, I'm not sure if it was an issue with the restaurant, or the site used to order. The food is very good, prices are good, and the delivery was right on time. I ordered Kung Pow chicken and asked for no peanuts and it was exactly how I asked. This is probably one of the worst places to order. Especially if you want to eat within the hour. They always take more than an hour to deliver or get our food ready for us. They typically mess it up. One time, they waited until we had already placed our order and had been waiting an hour to call and ask us about which main dish we had wanted. Then we were over charged for it and we had to wait another hour. After two hours, once we'd finally gotten our food, the order was wrong! The chicken smelled rancid and looked noticeable different and sludge-like. Different than normal. We specified fried rice and received white rice. It's odd because they added extra teriyaki sauce and didn't include vegetables, two requests that were right beneath our request for fried rice. I absolutely love chinese food and around Jefferson we have several options to choose from. It will be hard to go back to one of the other places after trying the China Garden. All of the food is fresh. They have a very wide variety of stuff to choose from and all at low prices. For 7.99 you can get a dinner entree, rice, Soup and an Egg roll. The people are so nice and the little hole in the wall restaurant is actually quite beautiful. Really well decorated. I would highly recommend the Mongolian tripple, sesame chicken, shrimp with asaparagus, or teryaki chicken. But I honestly don't think you could go wrong with eating anything from here. We will deffinitly return. read more

China Garden is a welcome addition to the Jefferson area. Or I should say the management change a few years back. It was pretty bad before but the last few years it has turned a corner. Their Chinese is not great but the best in the area. Their Thai on the other hand is really quite good. The Chinese is a lot better there than after being delivered so not far to judge them on that part anyway. They also have a fairly liberal delivery policy which out here is a huge bonus. It won't be the best you've ever had but you can get a very respectable shrimp masaman, Tom Kha Gai, basil rolls and other goodness delivered to your door in the country, seriously, what's there to complain about? If you're 5+ miles away just be sure to tip good as to not ruin it for the rest of us. :) read more

Placed an order for delivery was told 55 minutes. An hour and a half later still no food. . 3 phone calls was told 5 mins each time. At least that's what I thought she said. She was screaming at someone while she was on the phone with me. I told her to cancel my order and credit my card. I will never again eat at this place. read more

Great food. I love the hot and sour chicken. Just don't order soup with your to go order or you pay over $2 for the single portion. The staff are friendly and create a pleasant atmosphere. Probably the best Chinese Jefferson has to offer, but considering the limited food options that isn't saying much. Food: the eggs are undersized fried rolls of mush that taste like they were frozen and prepackaged. The general tso chicken is edible. The fried rice is white rice with soy sauce completely lacking in flavor. The 2.00 wonton soup is water with two wontons topped with scallions and basil leaves. Chicken and broccoli is also edible. This has to be my favorite Chinese place in Jefferson. We got pot stickers, pork lo mein, Mongolian beef and orange chicken. It was all good but the lo main is small noodles instead of the normal larger noodles and that's honestly what's preventing the 5 stars. I'm a huge lo mein person. So sad to be leaving a two star review for this restaurant because the food is great! However, each time I have ordered delivery, (twice) it has taken them over an hour. I have had to call and ask where my food was, only for them to say sorry and that the delivery guy would be leaving soon. Upon the delivery guy arriving to my house, we did not leave a tip. After all, by the time my doorbell rang, it had been an hour and 45 minutes since I placed my order. He proceeded to ask "no tip" and got really upset and walked away. RUDE! I have been living in Jefferson for over a year and never tried this restaurant, thinking it was one of those "fast food" Chinese restaurant where the food is mediocre at best. Boy, was I wrong; I know they do a lot of take out, but I have never had anything bad yet. The Thai selection is wonderful. I would recommend the pan fried noodles with chicken. Asked for a refund, and they said they couldn't because we ordered from the app and we would have to call them for a refund and it wasn't their problem. I'm super picky about Chinese food so when we moved to Jefferson I was worried about finding a new place. We tried another place in town that a local recommended and it was disgusting. Made my husband sick. We then tried China Garden and we were both pleasantly surprised! There mei fun may be the best I've ever had. The chicken and broccoli is also another of our favorites. Try the Thai fried rice. It's just spicy enough. I had the pork and it was delicious. Service is quick and friendly. I notice that several other dinners spoke to the wait staff with familiarity so definitely local regulars. This was my third time dining here and I will definitely be back. I have been a customer of this restaurant since they opened a year ago. I mostly depend on their delivery service and have found that sometimes it is a little bit of a wait but it is worth it. The quality of the food is outstanding and the vegetables are always bright with color and fresh. It is the second best Hot and Sour soup I have ever had. And trust that I have tried most of the offerings within a 40 mile radius. Some of the entrees' I have tried are: Pepper Steak, General Tsos Chicken, Mongolian Chicken and Beef, Teriyaki Chicken, and Sesame Chicken. I look forward to trying many of their delicious dishes. The soups are always perfectly brothy and not gelatinous like some of the lower quality restaurants I have tried. The prices and portions are perfectly paired and they have great lunch and dinner combos. The people that run the place are very nice and cheerful, something you don't find at a lot of Asian style restaurants.
