If your looking for Chinese food in Tulare there's really only one place to go. When I first came here I was skeptical at first. It's located in a strip mall, so that alone may turn some people away. I decided to give it a shot anyway, and now I've become a regular. I usually come for the lunch special. The dish I love ordering is the shrimp jalapeño. It usually comes with a side of fried rice and chow mein. I've never been a chow mien fan so I just get the fried rice. The shrimp is full of flavor. It's cooked with the jalapeños and garlic among other herbs and spices. It's so tasty that now I have it at least twice a week. read more

My husband and I love this place!! Every time we order for take out it never disappoints. The reason why I'm giving 3 stars is because customer service is horrible! Not sure if she is the owner but we didn't have a menu available to order over the phone so when I called she was very rude and told me to come in instead of her reading me the items over the phone. I get it, they were probably busy but I didn't feel like waiting 20 min inside the store for take out.. so I hung up because I was already frustrated with her attitude. Called back again (only because I wanted Chinese food really bad, I'm pregnant!) and she was still very rude my husband took over the phone call and ordered. So next time, I'll have my husband order the take out, and she did throw in a menu for the next time we call! read more

I only gave 1 Starr and that is only for the service I use to receive when going to this establishment. I pass through this area regularly and stop because they had one of the most kindest servers I've ever experienced. But the owner is rude and I've heard her yell at her workers with a restaurant full of customers very unprofessional!! I just recently stopped by hoping to get my same server the reason why I've made this a regular stop when passing through. I find out that she was let go i which now makes this place horrible to frequent. They have those sticky roach traps right by the drink dispenser full of dead roaches some still alive also right by the storing of the high chairs for kids to use very unsanitary. When speaking to a server that was there asking her what happened to my normal server i was informed that she was just let go for unjust reason also fired another worker because the owner did not want her to get a work permit so she could only pay her under the table highly illegal. It's hard to believe that this place will be in business much longer just in a months time it has went down hill so fast. I will never stop here again which is sad I enjoyed making this stop and having the best customer service from one worker. This past time was a horrible experience. Seeing how filthy it has gotten I wouldn't recommend this place to my worse enemy!! I hope the health department really takes a good look into this place and either closes or down or holds them accountable for the much needed cleaning from top to bottom. read more

The food here is great, and the staff are super friendly. I'm from San Francisco, an I lived in China Town for three years. The Mushu Pork here is as good, or better, than any I have eaten in SF, or anywhere else. The sesame chicken was a little sweet for my taste, but still very good, and my kids loved it. One of my kids spilled his water glass, as they were so sweet cleaning up - not a complaint, and they brought him another edited he could ask for it. I would absolutely eat here again! I tried this place for the first time today. It was okay!! I ordered Honey Glazed Walnut Shrimp it was too sweet!!! It's not what I was expecting, too thick of a glaze, my plate was garnished with lettuce & 2 maraschino cherries. My daughter had orange chicken the glaze was extremely sweet, as well, chow mein was okay. The fish aquarium in the dining room was horribly dirty could barely see the fish swimming. The service was not the best but just okay. The servers look as they are unhappy and forced to be there, the atmosphere was blah!!! Worst Chinese food I've ever had figured on the high reviews this place had I would give it a shot ordered the almond chicken chow mein (boiled noodle no flavor with almond chicken poured over it) I was thinking it would be chicken chow mein with almonds thrown in wrong! Thought the prices were fair but food was so so. Orange chicken was to sweet and rice was average. High point they did have crisp noode.

We always went to Jean Jean Chinese Resturant in Tulare but when they closed we were lost. Luckily we only had to try a couple of resturants before we found China Inn. It came closest to the delicious food we got at Jean Jean. So we're happy now. I haven't tried everything so I can't say everything is great but it's a good place to give your favorites a try. Only one thing I don't recommend, the BBQ pork. I know, this is the one thing we really love but....it's just not good. Enjoy the rest of the food. read more

This is my favorite restaurant to go to with my sister when I'm in town visiting my parents. Definitely the best Chinese restaurant in the area. The service is super friendly and attentive. The place is not the fanciest but it's always clean. And the food is pretty darn good! I've tried many of their dishes and have never been disappointed by any. I've ordered their orange chicken, Mongolian beef, honey walnut shrimp, salt n pepper shrimp, fried rice, chow mein, and egg foo young. It's all delicious. All their shrimp dishes are made made with large juicy shrimp. Another thing I love about china inn is that they use only white meat for their chicken dishes. No chewy dark leg meat! Their lunch specials are about $7 and they aren't shy with their portions. It comes with a soup, rice, chow mein and your choice of an entree. I usually always get their Mongolian beef. Everything comes out of the kitchen piping hot and freshly made. I highly recommend their honey walnut shrimp, it's the best I've ever tasted. They have pretty good prices considering the big portions they give you. And they'll also do half orders on some of their dishes if you don't want too much. The place is usually pretty full around lunch and dinner time. For those traveling on the 99 it's just right off the freeway.
