Perfect afternoon lunch! Each of our dishes were perfect. This restaurant is strictly authentic in their cooking. Old fashioned Chinese cooking at its best. Fried bao was tender inside and slightly cooked at the bottom. Shu mai is big and full of tender pork and shrimp. Fried fish was delicious with the sweet and sour side sauce, not to mention the bite of the jalapenos and onions. If you want authenticity, come to New China Restaurant. Phoned a take out order for house chow mein and sesame balls. Most polite help at the counter. The parking lot seemed full, and there was a good amount of patrons dining in the traditional, ethnic decor. The chow mein was tasty and very filling. The sesame balls, a quantity of three, were huge! We plan to stop by again in the future. read more

Me and my family absolutely love this spot. Their chow mein, honey walnut shrimp and wonton soup are my top 3 faves! The wonton soup is especially my favorite since it has such a nice umami taste to it. I've also tried the beef with mushroom dish and it's also a 10/10 option. Coming from a small town it's always nice to find a variety of different places to eat! I had heard about this Chinese restaurant in Delano, and decided to give it a try! This local small business is located on Cecil Avenue. You walk in and seat yourself. The servers will come and and give you menus and take your drink order. The service was a little slow, but I only saw one woman working the front, so that could have been why. I ordered the Chinese fried chicken plate with pork fried rice and chow mein. I am not a big fan of chow mein, but did eat the majority served on my plate. Everything came out fresh and hot! The chicken with so moist and had a delicious crispy skin. My mom ordered the Green bean chicken plate with pork fried rice. She did say it was a bit on the salty side, but ate what she could. My dad ordered the chicken chow mein that he enjoyed. The food is a little on the greasy side. The portions are big enough to share with someone if you wanted. None of us were able to eat it all because it was a lot of food, but very tasty! My family and I have been here so many times now and this establishment truly deserves this 5 star rating. The food is really good and my husband and mom's favorite here is the beef mushroom dish. Every time we come visit, I try to change it up a little bit so I can try other things and so far I have not been disappointed. When they closed down Chui King, I was bummed but we have grown to really like this place a lot. The building is still the same and they haven't did a lot of upgrades or anything like that after Chui King. They don't have tons of seating, but they are able to accommodate for large groups. We have come many times with more than 10 people at a time and they have always been able to take care of us. I found out recently they also have catering trays you can order. We purchased some trays for my mom's 78th birthday party last weekend and it was a hit. There was literally nothing left and everyone kept asking where we got our food order from. We ordered a tray of my mom's favorite mushroom beef, we ordered 5 orders of 5 spice shrimp and they put it in a tray for us and last an order of chicken chow mein. I told my husband the trays were a little pricey, but we can't put a price on my mom's birthday so we went ahead and got it. The staff is always friendly. I love supporting local and family owned businesses. Parking is a little crazy sometimes, but you can also park on the side of the street. If you've never been to New China, just an FYI the big red door in the back by the parking area is the restaurant entrance. I only say that because some of my family thought you have to walk all the way around to the front to enter. You can enter from either way, but just wanted to give you a little heads up in case you have never been here. There's something for everyone, so if you haven't visited yet then you should definitely swing by to check it out w friends and family. Highly recommend them for your next event! :-) read more

DELICIOUSSSSS, they got the best dinner combos. It's so flavorful. Best Chinese food in all of Kern county. Very filling as well, they give a lot of what you order, and it's always steaming hot. Their orange chicken, fried rice, and chow mein are to DIE FOR. Very clean restaurant as well. Front desk sells these cookies that have almonds, 4 for $1, bomb as hell. Was in Delano with my mom and she was craving Chinese food. We ended up with some lunch specials. The food was pretty good and boy do you get a plate full. My mom got the spareribs. Yum! The pieces I had didn't have bones....until I ate some of her leftovers the next day and some had bones. My husband who is picky got orange chicken. He apparently liked it and was open to come back there if we were in Delano. That totally says alot for chinese food from my husband. I loved the orange chicken. It was like a sweet and sour type fried chicken but with the orange sauce. It had just enough sweetness. I had the Mangolian beef. It was different that what I expected but I liked it. It had a little kick to it and it had bamboo shoots in it too. This entree had big green bell peppers and onions so I was glad I got some veggies because no one else really had veggies. SoThere's nothing better than " just made " Char Sui straight out of the oven... . Juicy ,tender and flavorful. Growing up , Char Sui and Rice was many times our meals. Mother was always busy working with limited time to prepare complete meals for us . I enjoyed this growing up and today,it's still one of my childhood favorites. The Curry Tomato Beef Chow Mein , top notch and yummy. The noodle used is Chuka Soba type with a slight crunch. Everything is good about it. The Curry was mild and not over powering. I love the zest of the Tomatoes that brings the flavorness with the Beef. Got the salt and pepper lunch special. Be ready to split. The portions are huge. Got it with steam rice and veggies, which were super fresh (ask for no carrots and onions though).
