Egg foo young pancakes were not as "burnt stringy" as I like them, but were firm and had a great taste with the brown gravy. Moo shoo chicken had a good amount of chicken, pancakes were tasty and had a very delicious, light sauce. Vegetable fried rice was good, It was the yellow, saffron type rice and had a good taste. Overall, the amount of food was substantial. Double bagged. Very good value for the money. Since China Moon in Red Bank closed we have been searching for a good Chinese take out. Well, we found it!

I still have it a 4 star because I've had terrible food before this just needs a little help and timing. I will chalk it up to being a holiday and busy. It comes with an egg roll, which is a little on the smaller side for Chinese but it's still pretty tasty. I've had the steamed pork dumplings which are very good and their soups and pork fried rice are also very good. This place is much better than any other Chinese delivery place I've tried in the area.

Roaches in my General Tso's! I brought the container back to them and they grabbed it out of my hands and threw it out! They're a bunch of dirty, lying, cheats. I WILL NEVER go back. And strongly suggest no one ever go there. I spoke with the managers at The Windmill next door and they told me they've gotten countless complaints about bugs from their food. UNBELIEVABLE. Right off the bat, it was helpful that they were one of not many Chinese joints open on Monday, so that is definitely something to note. Another great factor in their service was how quick my food came out. I think I waited about 5-6 minutes for my order to be ready, which was helpful considering I only get an hour long lunch break. I got there just in time for the lunch special, which was also a plus. I ordered the sesame chicken lunch special, which came with your choice of rice and your choice of soup. I got it with the pork fried rice and wonton soup. I also got an egg roll and an order of their fried crab rangoons (which I order every time I get Chinese take-out). I started with the wonton soup. It was okay, definitely could have used just a pinch more of salt in the broth, but the wontons themselves were not too bad. Next I moved onto the crab rangoons. They had a nice crunch to them, but could have probably used a bit more filling. The sauce they came with was pretty standard. I then moved on to my main dish, the sesame chicken and pork fried rice. At first glance, it didn't look too appealing, however let me assure you, looks are deceiving. The rice had great flavor, and i always love when places add white onion to the fried rice. The chicken was also pretty decent, with a great tasting sauce coating it. Overall, I was pretty happy with it. I started eating my egg roll around this time, but I wasn't really the biggest fan of it, I actually only had about 2-3 bites of it. To sum it up, the food was pretty average, with the main dish being the best. As far as the ambiance, jt was pretty slow and empty, but considering it was a Monday at around 2pm, I would take that stat with a grain of salt. I'm sure that definitely helped allow them to get my food prepared as quick as they did, so I definitely won't complain. It was also very quiet in there, I would definitely recommend getting some music to play softly in the background. Overall, I'm going to give Shing Loon a 3/5 star rating. They have a few things that could be improved, as mentioned above, but in a pinch I would definitely be back.

And poor quality meat. The sweet and sour chicken was ok but it's probably hard to mess up fried chicken with dipping sauce. The crab rangoons were good also. But I wouldn't frequent a restaurant if the only redeeming thing they make is an appetizer. Also, their online ordering system is awful. There are no descriptions for the dishes and you can't pay for your food online. You have to pay when you get there. It's a little bizarre and confusing. I wish they at least had a description for each dish and maybe even a picture on the online menu. Or they should post a picture of the actual store menu on their website. People may have no idea what moo goo gai pan is (I don't!). Pretty disappointing. But we aren't local so we won't be back no matter what.
