Decent, reliable, pretty much your standard menu. Nothing cutting edge. OK value. Always busy, so s local favorite for many.

They do a really good job. The food is super fresh and the portions are generous. We ate in the restaurant and it was a nice experience.

Nice experience at Little Szechuan this Monday. Excellent Lunch special with choice of soup, entree including your choice of rice. Little Szechuan is not quite table cloth Chinese but it is pretty close. Lovely fried noodles with duck sauce on the table, Chinese tea was not offered. The food is cooked fresh, egg rolls were piping hot as was the soup and entrees. Very solid Chinese food, service was solid. Chicken with spicy hot pepper sauce was very good as was the lo mein and fried rice. I will return and make sure to bring an adult beverage or 2 as it is BYOB. Lunch menu is offered until 3pm I am looking forward to trying their Hunan beef which is one of my favorites for Dinner. Plenty of parking available in the private lot. read more

Depressing ambiance empty and lunch took forever don't go here if you are on your lunch hour- don't go here if you want to feel welcome by the people who run the restaurant. The food is good. The atmosphere is fine, but the service is terrible. We got the wrong food. The waitress disappeared for almost almost the entire time that we were there. Do yourself a favor and go for takeout instead. read more

been going here for 30 years or more their food is always some of the best Chinese food in the area. I know the place changed hands a couple of years ago. unfortunately the old place was 5 stars, maybe it's not as good as 20 years ago, but it is still 4 stars. new owner are very hard working and very nice people. Not 5 stars anymore but Chinese food at 4 stars is still very good. service was prompt and courteous. Ambiance is the same exact as it was years ago. The food here is so disappointing and tasteless! Chinese cuisine is one my my favorites for all of its flavors. Some are delicate and some mote bold, but none should be without flavor at all! I feel as though the cooks here make zero effort beyond the very minimum tip produce their dishes. I'm sorry, but that's honestly the way it seems. This has always been "Americanized" Chinese food at this restaurant.... not authentic Chinatown style, and this is even more important to have FLAVORFUL FOOD as Americans like flavorful Chinese!! read more

Not the same. Food quality went down as prices went up. People will pay more for quality. Old hard dry rice. How cheap can you get. Dirty tables. Rubbery meat. Basic steamed veggies is a safer bet but nothing else. Sad. read more

Little Szechuan changed ownership last year and while I will certainly miss the prior management, I am very happy to see the new owners have picked up right where they left off. Proper sit down service for a Chinese restaurant is rare in our area, so having this place just around the corner is something special . People should be taking advantage of this luxury. I have eatern here on numerous occasions since the ownership change over and I have not been disappointed. All of the food remains top notch. Is the food exactly the same as it used to be, of course not. Like any restaurant which has switched chefs, things are prone to change. But is the food good? ABSOLUTELY! I love coming here. Some of the highlights for me are the Szechuan Wantons and the chicken with Peanuts in Hot Pepper Sauce. So I'm glad to see the tradition of Little Szechuan continuing in Little Silver. Honestly, I've never written a bad review about a restaurant before, but I feel like I need to warn people so that they don't go home and get sick. The crispy noodles on the table were rancid. I took a bite out of one and put it on my plate and was worried about the little piece that I bit off might make me sick. I've never had a bitter crispy noodle at a Chinese restaurant in my life. I couldn't get the taste out of my mouth. The food was greasy and the restaurant was just dirty. Overall, nothing tasted right, everything just tasted "off." It wasn't just me. My husband who is not critical about things like this at all said we are never going back. If we hadn't been invited by other people, I wouldn't have even stayed. When I asked the waitress to give us a different soy sauce bottle because the one on the table absolutely disgustingly sticky, she brought me another one and asked me if it was better. It wasn't much better. I felt like telling her she should try using a CLEAN cloth to wipe them off. I had a Taka me in chicken soup that was so greasy with just a few pieces of chicken floating around and a couple of bean sprouts. The steamed vegetable dumplings were tasteless dough balls filled w/dead shredded cabbage. Another person who was sitting next to me had beef and snow peas. It looked like it was left over from a week ago. I might call the board of health on Monday. read more

This is NOT the Little Szechuan we all grew up with and enjoyed for decades. Absolutely terrible in every regard. Been here three times, all 1-star. Untrained, inattentive service (they are usually kids, its not their fault - blame ownership). Speaking of which, ownership/management does not speak English and have zero desire to fix whats broken. They can't communicate with customers. Dirty tables remain uncleared for 20-60 minutes at a time. Even though it was 25% full, food takes a long time to come out, and when it does, it comes out watery, bland and unappetizing looking. Food comes from the kitchen staggered, so people don't get everything at once. Plates are puddled with water, soup is canned or pre-made from a food supply company, beef is odd colored, skimpy portions, sauces are flavorless and there's not a doubt in my mind the kitchen is not up to code. An absolute shame as the sit-down Chinese restaurant model is a near-extinct business, and this place is the worst. Its disgraceful they kept the name, soiled a legacy. Every single take-out place within a 10 mile radius of this business is better. AVOID!!!! read more

Best Chinese restaurant in Monmouth County. Had dinner in the dining room among very few ( almost empty) seats. The service was perfect. However for some unknown reason, ( other than great food ) their take area was extremely busy. In the hour that we were there, I would think about 40 orders to go were picked up. read more
