This high end restaurant offers a traditional Chinese menu accompanied by an extensive wine list. The interior is a beautiful dining area with a sleek bar and private area for large groups. Located in the busy Sandyford industrial Estate, after being in Kilmacud for 23 years, there is also an excellent lunch menu on offer.

Mediocre Chinese food Starters - spring rolls and main - beef & ginger. The 2 course lunch deal was the cheaper option at €15, in my opinion this is expensive for lunch time and the quantity served. I wouldn't go back in a hurry unfortunately.

Great Authentic Chinese restaurant! I went on a Monday and it was still very busy so make sure to book in advance. It can be quite pricey but they do have a set course menu to avail of with great options. I had the pork ribs which were lovely and tender with a divine sauce over them. For the main I thought I would be adventurous and burn my mouth with the spicy Tofu, not for the faint hearted but if you can handle heat it was good. The tofu was just perfect with lots of hot chillies in the sauce. For dessert, I was the exact opposite of adventurous and got the selection of ice cream... am I 6 years old? Nevertheless it was needed after the spicy main. China Sichuan is the best Chinese I've been to in Dublin serving up authentic Chinese cuisine in a nice upscale setting.

The Sichuan is without a doubt the king of high end Chinese food in Dublin, and has been for a very long time. Go with a group, order too much food and share everything. Service is friendly, precise and unfussy. The decor is modern and comfortable. The food is really really good - ask for their recommendations and avoid the temptation to stick to the typical fare. We went last Friday for a Christmas lunch and I'm still smiling.

Great buzz in the place tonight.

Not wanting to cook dinner we opted to spin to Sandyford for a quick bite in the China Sichuan of which we had heard good reports.

This is my local Chinese and I order it maybe once a month...ok maybe more....! It's great for when…read moreyou're hungover or just too wrecked to cook, they're just down the road form me and they deliver it really quick! One time I rang them, left to go to the pass machine and it was at my apartment by the time I got back! I've always found the food really good - I usually go for a chow mein or maybe chicken friend rice, but the last time I ordered it, the food wasn't great. But, it's been good more times than it's been bad, so I'm going to let them have an off day! What I like most about it is that there's no minimum order with them - if I'm ordering on my own (boo hoo me) it usually comes to less than a tenner, and some places are fussy about the minimum amount of food you can order.

My lovely fiancee has already written about Wongs as our default Chinese take away, but since I am…read morethe one always pushing for Chinese food I figured I would weigh in. The food here is of good quality - it is not the best take away Chinese food I have ever had, but it is good enough to keep me going back. Their portions are generous, the meat actually tastes like meat (yes I have had this issue) and the quality of the staple dishes is very good (Kung Po. Curry, Satay etc.) Some highlights: Their fried noodles are closer to the vermicelli style than the Lo Mein style (which I prefer) and are well cooked and very tasty - worth trying on their own before using as a side dish. The Singapore fried rice (and equivalent noodles) are nicely spicey without going overboard - if this is your type of dish you will not be disappointed. The Chicken balls are very good - fluffy batter, not too oily and far too tempting to eat just-one-more. Delivery - super fast! While I lived in the US I had a craving for "proper" Chinese take out (east coast Chinese food was, in my experience, very poor) - Wongs satisfies that craving, perhaps a little too well :)

Review of Green Dragon Well Chinese Restaurant This lovely…read moreplace, tucked away in the upper floor of an unassuming building in the Killiney shopping center, proves that wonderful moments can occur in surprising places. We arrived at 3pm on a Monday, as the door downstairs was open and a sandwich sign out front proclaimed that they were available for business. We requested a table for four only to find that they were not open until 4pm. But then, the first bit of magic happened: the hostess said "You know, if you're willing to wait about ten or fifteen minutes we'd be happy to have you. It will just take a few minutes to open the kitchen. You can sit at the table and look at the menu." This was wonderful enough, but she continued to be friendly (offering us the option of forks and plates or bowls and chopsticks), helpful (offering advice on what we might like and what the chef's specialties were) and kind (she offered up the Chinese menu with additional available dishes). They brought us jasmine tea. Then a luscious wonton soup. Then delicious pan-fried dumplings and the main courses. We had dried spicy beef that was wonderfully complex while not being too spicy, and the chef's special duck that was tender and uniquely flavorful. We finished with the Gold and Silver Buns, simple steamed and fried bread that was light and sweet. We cannot recommend Green Dragon Well highly enough. From its surprising beauty and welcoming, happy employees and owners, to the delicious food (every dish was special and authentic), it was a perfect-and perfectly priced-dining experience. All the stars.

As a takeaway, this place is no better, no worse than the usual. Ashamedly, the times I tend to…read moreorder from here, are when I am feeling a little fragile (or just a little fat) and need a three in one. Their three in ones are great. No denying it. Apart from that, their crispy shredded chicken and their Cantonese style duck are also good, anything else I've had from this place ranges from just meh, to completely tasteless. So as far as the food goes; standard. In saying that, I came in the other night to look at their eat-in menu. We were seated, given a bowl of prawn crackers and tap water and began scanning the menu. I understand that takeaway is always going to be cheaper but holy God. Where you would pay just under a tenner for duck and rice at home, here it was sixteen something for the same thing not including rice. Feeling instantly ripped off, we politely made our excuses and got up to leave. When we did so we were greeted with an icy, angry tone and intense glares from the staff. I could see the women at the front desk running their eyes back and forth over the table to see if we had eaten anything (we had eaten two prawn crackers each) before they waved us off disgustedly. I would like to say that I have had better service over the phone, however, while often nice, I have found in the past that if I have had any special request or even just a question, the person at the other end has either gotten quite rude and snappy or just plainly can't answer it. They don't appear to have the patience necessary for the basic customer service. In conclusion, the Green Dragon Well is fine for a weekend three in one, but other than that, I don't think I will be rushing to come back. Especially not to sit in. *On a side note, stay away from their orange/lemon chicken. My friends have got both and it is literally radioactive slime, think Nickleodeon slime only highlighter orange/lemon.
