Now the rice, kind of a miss, definitely was not fluffy steamed variety and more made earlier and sat out til it was needed. Came here for takeout for our Christmas Eve tradition because I recently got a gluten-free diagnosis. They can make a ton of the menu gluten free, you just have to ask but they were really nice showing us what the options were and answering all my questions. It seemed like any of the chicken, beef, pork, or vegetables they could make with a gluten free version of the sauce, plus fried rice and chow mei fun. We got: General Tso's chicken Hunan bean curd with vegetables Chicken and eggplant Chow mei fun Singapore noodles And brown rice! They marked everything for us and had it ready in 15 minutes. It tasted great and I feel great too! There are some tables in case you want to eat there, but it's primarily a take out spot. read more

They keep switching up the container sizes. Went in there only abt 3 times in 3 or 4 wks. The first time the Beef & Broccoli was in the largest takeout brown container I believe they have. We were happy thinking we had found our new Chinese Restaurant spot! The 2nd time only got 1 Broccoli w Sauce; that time it was in a white, round container to go. The 3rd time, our 2 Beef & Broccoli containers were in these medium containers pictured here and this was a much less Broccoli portion, yet the charges were all for large-size portions even when we were gvn smaller containers so less portions, of course. I read all the rave reviews; the place is OK for 非中文 Nothing really to write home about. Standard Chinese take out, that you could find anywhere. My Con is the meat and vegetables are too big for chopsticks. You need a knife and fork for them. Which is a no-no in Chinese stir fry cuisine. But, for the price; you get a hot meal that'll fill you up. Maybe I'm a little spoiled; I grew up with Chinese food in Chinatown. BIG difference. read more

Yeah, this place is OK. My parents used to really like this other Chinese restaurant in Poughkeepsie when we used to live here, but it was unfortunately closed the day we visited, so we tried this random restaurant instead. It's your average Chinese takeout place for Chinese-American food. Nothing really blew me away while I ate here: at the same time, everything was quite alright. I enjoyed the Lo Mein, Fried Rice, Beef & Broccoli, Cajun Chicken, and General Tso's Chicken, among other things. The great thing about this place being a hole-in-the-wall in the middle of nowhere is the price: incredibly affordable, exceeding my expectations of a typical Chinese takeout place. Horrible I asked my son did u order the General He responded Yes So I thought they made something simalar. It just didn't taste right but I was starvig. The yellow rice was bland in color they also said ran out of the dry peppers I like. In middle of night I got up with terrible cramps and soiled on myself, plus couldn't stop vomiting. I had lunch at Chinatown Restaurant which is a small Chinese takeout place located in the 9 Mall Plaza (Kohl's/Firestone). They offer the standard Chinese dishes and chef's suggestions, dishes/items priced under $12. 46 Luncheon Specials ($5.25 each) are served with pork fried rice and soup or egg roll, as well as 35 Combination Platters ($6.75-$6.95) served with pork fried rice and egg roll. The menu states NO MSG and brown rice is served here. The place is order at the counter with open kitchen and there is also self serve table seating inside. I ordered the L32 Shrimp Lo Mein Luncheon Special ($5.25 plus tax) with Pork Fried Rice and Hot & Sour Soup. The food was ready to go in under 10 minutes after ordering. The lo mein dish had tender shrimp (cleaned) with mixed vegetables (cabbage, onion, carrots) with soft noodles, but this dish was overcooked and salty tasting. The fried rice (yellow color) had a firm texture with onions and minimal roast pork cubes (red food coloring coming off). The hot & sour soup was very spicy, but was very bland lacking the flavor, which had sliced fresh mushrooms, vegetables, & tofu in a thin broth (orange oily film formed in plastic container). While the portion of food was good for the price, I was disappointed by the taste of the lo mein and especially the lack of flavor in the very spicy hot & sour soup. I needed a Super Big Gulp from 7-Eleven to wash down the aftertaste. read more

The chicken wasn't crispy and the sauce was so bland we couldn't tell which was which. My sisters sweet and sour chicken was so crispy and oily it was inedible. Disappointed after reading posted reviews. Ordered General Tso's chicken. The chicken was dry with a very thick, not crispy coating that hid the small portions of chicken pieces. The chicken had a distinct shrimp flavor. Only two small pieces of broccoli. Rice and roll were tasty. The staff was very nice. read more

I would not recommend this restaurant for take out - the beef in the beef and broccoli is very low quality, the broccoli was ok but the sauce was very jelly like. If you are Celiac or Gluten sensitive craving Chinese food, this is the place to go. Jay and I spoke yesterday about my husband having Celiac disease and he assured me that he could adjust the majority of items on the menu. Just tell him when we call about the need for GF. We ordered Chicken and Broccoli, Pepper Steak AND Fried Rice. Fried rice was outstanding. No soy sauce added to give it color and even though we have GF soy sauce substitute we did not feel the need to use it as the rice was seasoned and perfectly fried.
