This family-run place is one of our go to's for fried chicken wings! We normally order just the wings (includes four full wings) and they are always fresh & piping hot! TIP: open up the bag so the air can be let out during the ride home; it stops the wings from becoming soggy & allow them to be crispier when you're ready to eat them

Food was prepared quickly and well. The service was friendly. The seating area is small & cozy. Take out is always an option.

Adore every dish, also recommend leave the kiddies at home. As a mother's, rather shocked by how often friends thought their children delightful, as they ran through restaurants. It is not the fellow diner's responsibility to babysit children. This place is blessedly free, usually of toddler age, children. The steak, mushrooms, Pasta, that's where a true Italian restaurant shines, is their pasta Devine? Do you want to use the delicious bread, to soak up every bit of sauce. This is the place. Dress nicely but not a black tie, or even too formal. Wonderful food, great staff. Admit, often order in, as prefer a quiet night at home, but the food still top notch!

We ordered oysters, prosciutto with watermelon, chickpea-crusted fried calamari, scallops, and two pasta dishes--one with veal and the other with scallops. Plus cocktails and wine. The oysters were magnificent--fresh and delicious. The pasta wasn't particularly memorable, but the scallops turned out to be very tasty... While the dishes weren't extraordinary, they were certainly tasty enough. The most unpleasant--and even awkward--part was that the waiters were in no rush to clear away dirty dishes (and sometimes didn't do it at all), even though the tables there are quite small. You end up eating surrounded by dirty plates and glasses, which certainly doesn't help the impression of the service quality. Even when we asked for the dishes to be cleared, it didn't happen. We were told they would clear everything when they brought our second round of cocktails, but since the cocktails never arrived, the dirty dishes stayed on the table. It's unlikely we'll visit this restaurant again. We live just a seven-minute drive away, but we have no desire to spend over $300 again to eat in an atmosphere reminiscent of a roadside diner.

More recently, a coworker of mine mentioned she had dined here. Hubs and I had just finished with a gender reveal party in Stony Point and decided to come here then afterwards head up home. Ship L. has a warm, woodsy charm with dark woods, a large bar area to the right as you enter. This place has a spacious dining area on the left with an old-school energy that feels just right for a long-standing rest'nt like this one. Service was great from everyone: friendly, attentive and welcoming all around. That said, awesome service and history can only carry a restaurant but so far. We were told their long-standing chef of 30+ yrs either resigned(?) or didn't want to work here(?) and based on what my coworker told me- that she noticed a difference in the cooking not too long ago when she came here. Sadly, it shows. Our escargots were extremely salty. My husband's pork chop was salty. His vegetables also salty. At that point, I held out hope that my Chilean sea bass might at least redeem the evening. No such luck. Salty again. Even the mushroom risotto- which actually had delicious flavor, was overpowered by too much salt. By then, after one appetizer and two entrées all salty, we figured dessert would at least save the night. Nope. I ordered profiteroles with chocolate gelato instead of vanilla and was truly looking forward to them. Except, the profiteroles were rock hard. The chocolate drizzle tasted like Hershey's syrup, making the dessert taste cheap for a restaurant of this type. My husband, who always goes for sorbet, ordered the mango flavor- but to me it tasted like an unripe mango blended with sugar just to make it palatable.. If you're from the Caribbean or know a true mango taste, you know exactly what I mean. And don't even get me started on the cocktails- they tasted more like juice than actual drinks. At the end of the night, we realized we weren't imagining things. A $245 dinner with weak cocktails, overly salty food and disappointing desserts was no balance for a restaurant with such a long-standing history. For that reason... we out.

We received an email, that they would be doing a soft opening November 1st. We were really looking forward to a Spanish meal! When we arrived, the place was packed! Usually, a positive sign. Apparently, we weren't the only ones, that received the E-mail. We let the bartender know that we had a reservation, the answer was pretty much; see if you can find a seat. First off - they should change the name from Flores Tapas to Flores - burger and taco shack. Based on the "new" menu. It's very sad - because it's neither "fish nor fowl". Is it Mexican street food or a burger joint? It takes forever for the food to come out of a totally confused kitchen and even though there are numbers on the table, they don't know where to bring it. It's the fault of the "21st century"ordering system they are employing. IT is totally "Fakakta"!! Theoretically, the order goes from your phone to the kitchen, where they process it and prepare your food, then the runner brings it to your table. The reality is disappointingly different. You're better off, sitting at the bar; getting blitzed and watching TV. The fast food gets there sooner! You can do that at home and not have to worry about driving home drunk. Sadly, they spent a small fortune on theme glasses, seat back covers that look like Santa's hat, and specialty merchandise. See photos. I have a feeling, that a lot of the people that were there tonight. Sitting around at the tables, waiting for their food, that took over an hour to arrive won't be back! Especially a lot of the senior citizens or anyone over 30 years old that wondered what was going on? It was suggested; that as a Tapas restaurant they couldn't survive. Wappingers isn't ready for them. However, there are dozens of Mexican taco places within a few miles and burger joints to choose from. Let's hope they fair well.

Unfortunately, the appetizers were a rough start. The lobster bisque was very watery/liquidy, and the lobster itself was tough. The Brussels sprouts were also overcooked. That said, the staff handled the situation very well and were extremely attentive and accommodating when we sent the soup back. The main entrées were much better and really saved the experience. I had the sea bass, my husband ordered the ribeye, and my sister-in-law had the veal -- all were hot, flavorful, and cooked very well. The veal was especially tender. Service throughout the evening was excellent, and you can tell the team is trying hard to make this newer restaurant successful. Overall, while the appetizers and overall execution didn't quite match the upscale price point yet, the entrées and attentive staff gave us enough reason to come back and give them another try. Hopefully, with a little refinement, especially on the starters, they can grow into the fine dining experience they're aiming for.
