It would have been nicer if I had of eaten a packet of chewing gum. The Mongolian Lamb was so chewy and hard, to charge anyone $27 is outright thievery. The so called fried rice, was basically some rice with a few bits of I think it may have been the ends of shallots and of course I had to pay for some prawns in it. They would have made at least $19 on the rice alone. What an utter wrought. A take away for me is somewhat of a luxury these days and not something I indulge myself in very much at all. What a rotten way to run a business not giving a f.......... about customers or how they spoil their meals. Shame on the Chef and the owners. Paying $50 for two items and neither were edible is a darn disgrace in anyones eyes. Sad thing is, they all keep getting away with it. read more

My husband and I were visiting Sydney and had several people recommend Chinese Noodle House so we had to check it out. We really had no idea what to get, so ordered a full order of steamed pork dumplings, a chicken pancake, and a order of fried noodle with beef. Everything came out as it was ready and was piping hot, perfect for the cool evening. The chicken pancake was my favorite, it reminded me of a burrito but with a delicate wrap. The noodles and dumplings were also very good! In what I believe is northern Chinese fashion, both had a slightly thicker feel than I am used to but I loved how it gave the noodles such a unique chew and made the dish feel so substantial. This is definitely worth a visit if you are in the Sydney area, but do not confuse it with Chinese Noodle Restaurant next door! read more

I've been to this restaurant twice . That was nearly 8 years ago. (I live in the states) I think about it all the time - the best dumplings and chicken spring pancakes I ever had. I wish I had more time to have other menu items. It's a very small, hole in the wall, family run restaurant. You can see the cooks prepping the meals fresh in the corner kitchen. Great noodle shop in Chinatown! I came here with a friend since we were craving some noodles for breakfast. There's some seating indoors, but there's also plenty of seating outside as well. We shared the beef sliced soup noodles, and a half order (6 pieces) of the pan-fried pork and Chinese cabbage dumplings. The noodles in the soup were fresh, and the soup definitely hit the spot! The dumplings were crispy with a great filling (good filling and wrapping ratio). A reminder, this place is CASH ONLY. Absolutely packed early on a Saturday morning and having tasted the Dodd and experienced the service I can see why

This is a review for the Chinese Noodle "House". Their tents for the seating area outside are in green while the other restaurant with a similar name has the dark red tents. We were seated fairly quickly as we made it at the start of dinner time. The inside seating area is small and can only fit about 25 people. We received a teacup, bowl, and a pair of chopsticks each. As expected from an Asian place, the dinnerware was not spotless clean. We were given hot tea as well which was not as hot as I expected either. We ordered the braised beef noodle soup, noodle in pork mince sauce, and the pan fried pork bun. The braised beef noodle soup was our best dish. It was very flavorful and the noodles had a good consistency. The noodle in pork mince sauce was decent as well. Lastly, the fried pork buns were a bit oily and the meat somewhat dry. I would probably not order these again. Overall, the service was quick and the staff was responsive. read more

The crowds eating and waiting outside this small shop is a testament of their food. Definitely go for the huge sized boiled dumplings. At 10.80$ for 16 pieces, it's bang for your budget and will last you for a whole day! You can always take the leftovers away and steam them again. We wanted to go to Chinese Noodle "Restaurant" but ended up in this Chinese Noodle "House" next door. Even though the "House" also offered good fried dumpling and egg plants, I wish I had noticed that they are two different restaurants catering to similar northern Chinese food. The Chinese name for the "Restaurant " has 5 characters, the "House" has 4. The reason for my mistake was that one of the pictures in the "Restaurant " Yelp is actually the "House" with 4 Chinese characters. Hope this helps people find the shop they intend to visit. Back to food, fried dumpling, egg plant both very good, beef noodle soup and seafood fried noodle both ok. Beef can be more tender and I should know better not to order seafood in a noodle shop. read more
