This restaurant has a huge wall of windows overlooking the Thames. We got there, sat down ordered our drinks and apps. Our waitress appeared irritable and asked to take our dinner orders. We reminded her we had just got there and had not even got our drinks yet. She seemed in a rush and had forgotten about our drinks. We ordered the tempura, veggie gyozas and shumai. All were good. I ordered the veggie green curry and it was pretty good! My family had the jalapeño maki and tenkasu rolls. Our moody waitress brought us our food. She was clearly preoccupied or just hated her job! This made for an uncomfortable dining experience. Though we would have liked to order dessert, we just asked for the check and left as soon as we settled the bill. read more

We were staying at the Park Plaza Hotel and decided to come to Chino Latino on our last day for dinner. We got the: Calamari Crispy Duck English Sirloin on the Rock The English sirloin was 10/10! It was juicy, flavorful, tender and just cook perfectly on the rocks. The Crispy Duck was definitely crispy and very good. 10/10 Calamari was good but not my favorite. I would have liked it better if there was some crispness to it. 7/10 Overall, if you have the opportunity to come here, give it a try! read more

By far my most FRUSTRATING dining experience during my time in London. I arrived with my party of 8 and was seated shortly after the restaurant opened. We came for the special added marathon menu, which the concierge told us would be available at the restaurant the day before the marathon (one of us in the party was going to run the marathon). After some confusion, the staff informed us that the menu we came for was only available from the bar, so naturally we moved. We ordered around 10 mins later, and the salads and kids items came out in the standard amount of time. However, around 30 mins after we ordered, half of our party still had not received their food, 3 of which ordered pasta! After telling our server, the pasta dishes came out shortly, yet my meal (the wagyu burger) still had yet to be delivered. I informed our server of this, and several other servers who approached our table, until finally, 80 MINUTES after I ordered and a solid 20 minutes after everyone in my party finished eating, I finally received my food. It was on the house, which was a relief, but definitely not worth the wait. The burger was too well done and only had 1 small pickle, and the fries were mediocre at best. The only thing positive I can say is that this restaurant has some nice vibes with a dj and all, but a lot of it is lost in the bar section which is where I sat. Overall, I wouldn't recommend unless you're willing to pay a few pounds extra for average food and disappointing customer service. read more

Great bar located in the London Plaza Riverbank hotel. I say it was a great bar for one reason: The Bartender, Danny. This guy knows how to make a cocktail, really, he does. Danny was by far the best mixologist we encountered in London and we tried several, maybe many. It's a very nice hotel and the bar has a great view of the Thames River, but it is a bit sterile if your looking for atmosphere. If I ever return to London, I will go back. read more

Spending 350 usd per night and told the best option I have to eat is a limited menu room service or to go off site. I took a red eye flight from the US and deeply disappointed the only option for quality food is to look offsite from the hotel. This would normally be ok but the hotel is remote on Albert embankment with no options within walking distance to dine at. Pretty hotel but paying for a 5 star hotel should not prohibit me from dining at eating the 5 star dining after 8 hours of travel. read more

This restaurant is in the Riverbank Plaza Hotel on the Albert Embankment. Nice view of Big Ben across the river. There's a nice swanky bar lounge with ultra cool modern decor, white leather sofas and a blue back lit bar. The cocktails were fabulous - I had a Passionate Buffalo- with bourbon, lychee, ginger beer and passion fruit. De-lish. They give you some wasabi crunchy coated peanuts which were addictive. The meal was a bit of a disappointment. Style is modern Pan-Asian. For starters: Tempura Mozzarella & Tomato - didn't think this combo worked-very bland. They give you a few dots of basil sauce. Would've been better with way more sauce. The tomato was a big dry beef tomato with no flavor. Yellowtail Sashimi - thinly sliced with ponzu sauce and chili. Tasted like smoked salmon :( Crab Dim Sum - in a rice paper roll with veggies. Tasted fresh, but not much flavor Mains: Duck with miso sauce and kumquat sauce. - Duck was very nicely cooked, miso sauce was perfect. Kumquat sauce tasted like orange marmalade - didn't think it went well Sea Bream - in a broth. The crispy salted skin was great, but the rest of the dish just had a subtle flavor. Overall, I think we wanted to be wowed by interesting flavor combinations, and we weren't. We even had 40% off the bill from OpenTable, but still seemed expensive for what it was. After a little confusion in finding the restaurant (Tell your cab driver it's in the Riverbank Plaza Hotel or he will drop you off at Vauxhall station) and working out what sort of restaurant it is (ignore the Latino part of the name) we had a pleasant evening all in all. The bar was as Victoria C's review says nice and swanky, with quite a mixture of clientele... tourists, business people and girly catch-up types. I found the table service a little confusing with the when to serve or not balance a little out of balance. And I think it may be cheaper to ask for a cocktail without alcohol rather than a £7.50 glass of orange juice and lemonade. Once we went through to the restaurant we were seated at a great big table which was only just the right size given what we were about to eat. We were not so subtly recommended to have one of the tasting menus in particular the £49 per person one based on 4 people eating. We did have a 40% discount with our top table booking so we went for it. What a feast! The presentation was great... some dishes were better than others there was a real mix of sort of Japanese and sort of Chinese dishes that just kept on coming. The lobster at the end was just perfect. All in all, I found the service a little pushy, the pricing quite high but the discount makes it worth it, the atmosphere ok (we had a couple of odd ones in the bar stand there staring at us through the glass which was a little off putting) and the food good. Thanks to the previous yelpers, I was able to easily find the restaurant, which is in the Riverbank Plaza Hotel wth a great view of the water. The bar was quite swank, really cute and fun. I would say the name is a bit misleading, bc the food is really asian and doesnt have much if any of a latin influence--more Pan Asian as Victoria said, but the food was fantastic. We had the Rengin tasting menu, which was the following items: Apps: Crispy soft shell crab, California rolls: I really enjoyed this dish though I'm not a huge fan of deep fried things, but still yummy. Beetroot salad: I dont normally like beetroot, but again really delicious with a light cream cheese in b/w. Seared white tuna: AMAZING dish! It was light, fresh, and delicious! Small Dishes Grilled scallops: Elegant, light, nicely flavored but allowed for the scallops to shine through which were super fresh Pork, crab and glass noodle samosas: These were the only that were OK, i didnt care too much for it Main Dishes: Sirloin steak on hot rocks: AWESOME dish, I would recommend to anyone. Black Cod, spicy miso: Also deliciously flavored dish and again light enough sauce that didnt overwhelm the dish. Dessert platter: Literally everything you could ever ask for: Sorbet, chocolate ice cream, cheesecake, fruits, and the list goes on. I ate a late lunch at the Chino Latino (inside the Park Plaza Hotel) in London, England on 5/21/2015. It was my 1st time there. The decor is wonderful. My beef burger w/cheddar was 14 pounds plus 1.25 for the cheddar. My lemonade (it was a lemon soda) was 3.25 pounds. I'm visiting London for a short time and decided to find somewhere upper scale. Found this place on yelp and I walked a long way to come here. Didn't realize it was in a hotel. When I arrived, I realized I was a bit under-dressed but decided to put on the pullover I had in my backpack which brought me up to speed enough. The hostess told me the restaurant sit-down area was was full, even though the entire room was almost empty, and I'm not exaggerating. She said the only spots I could have were the sushi bar or the drink bar. I chose the sushi bar and was sat staring at a plain red wall. Guess I should have chosen the drink bar. I thought maybe people with reservations would arrive and sit at the nicer seats with the view, but there were two window tables still untouched by the time I left, not including the rest of the empty seats in the middle of the room. The crispy duck was alright, definitely a "small dish" not unlike an appetizer, unfortunately. The suggested beer was not great.The waiter was ok at best, definitely seemed like he had to force it to seem nice, not genuine. Then I ordered a salmon roll since the duck wasn't much. I don't know if it was supposed to come with real seaweed or not but it was probably one of the least authentic sushi I've ever had, even though I know this place is supposed to be "fusion".. I'd be willing to bet 1000 that the wasabi was horseradish. After looking back, I'm not even sure why I'm giving this two stars instead of one...The ambiance was the only thing going for it, as long as you're at a good spot. read more

The food was quite tasty! Generally though, it was definitely a style over substance situation. The Square tables were very high in relation to the banquettes and the lighting was dim when I sat down. For small plates read tapas not starters. I got calamari but there was no accompanying dip as I would have expected and no explanation from the waitress. As my Bento arrived it got much darker. I said "did it just get darker?" Yes, she explained, they had turned the lights down "is it a problem?" Well, it's a bit dark I said. Then, she must have gone into the kitchen as I heard someone say loudly "Too dark? Who said that?" I guess I was getting pointed at. Male staff member came over and offered to move me out into the bar area. I opted to stay. I'm glad I wasn't trying to read a menu! The bento was small. Two very small filo rolls and a dip, a 2" Square of salmon, a cup of pak Choi and half a cup of rice. Very expensive and not exceptional. I was disappointed. This was the worst service we have ever had. It took over 30 minutes to get our very simple drinks or even water to the table and over an hour and 15 minutes to get any food which came out wrong and incomplete. We had to ask several times for place settings. We were told that the kitchen couldn't deal with the orders (there were 4 total tables there at lunch) and that the chefs didn't know how to make our order because it was a new menu. (it was a Cuban sandwich which is very simple to make). Although our server did apologize there was no offer to remove the service charge or make any adjustments for the major hassle we had to endure. We had 3 people and each person was completely finished with their dish before the next dish, sometimes incorrectly, arrived. This was okay food but the service was beyond terrible. It opened tonite and is almost a full house Ihad the lamb chops, best I have ever eaten, cooked perfect with good spice. Scottish chops have a different texture than New Zealand or Colorado. My daughter had the duck breast which was served on a banana leaf, sliced and very tasty. Good wine list. Being from California I looked for California wines. Chenin blanc was good where ever it was from. Nice river view makes a great feel. Great for date or just tasty food.they bring a little black dish with what looks like a tablet in it. Chino Latino is located next to the lobby inside the riverside plaza hotel. It's the ideal place for business lunch as the restaurant is quite classy and quiet. The service is quick if you have a small group but for large group the kitchen seems to struggle (even when the restaurant is empty). The food is absolutely gorgeous even though the portions can be small. They do have set menus if you find it too difficult to choose from the lovely fusion menu. read more

I did not expect to find incredible sushi in a place in a place that sounds like a Mexican restaurant, but that's what I got. After a long flight I just wanted a beer and a little something to eat. Two hours later ( and about 100 pounds or $150 ) I had tried 5 different plates of sushi each one amazing. A week later I came back and got some more sushi and some lamb cutlets, also great.
