Came here with friends for NYE dinner before going to see fireworks. They are Londoners, and they chose the place. And I'm so glad they did!! Service - absolutely top notch, from the time we entered, to our amazing waiter who was so good at suggesting dishes, and recommending desserts. Ambiance - very cute place, super central in London, easy to get to from subway. Food - omg, the food was so good!! We had Crab Dumplings (!!!), Black Pepper Prawns, Chicken Satay and Spring Rolls, to start. Lovely Negronis for drinks, and then great bottle of white wine. And my main course was Char Grilled aged ribeye, with a side of crispy baby potatoes. There was nothing left when we were done. Amazing meal!

First, this place is open LATE! As a NYer who travels for work, finding a quality restaurant, of any restaurant in the area that has the kitchen open later than 9:30PM is quite difficult. Often, I'm out for drinks or working late and need a bite a bit later, esp when you're jet lagged and going to bed is quite hard at that hour coming from NY, you want a later dinner. And this place hit the spot! Wow. The flavors here are incredible. The Tom Kha soup was so flavorful. The lamb chops were so freaking tasty and cooked to perfection. The green beans were addictively good. I couldn't get over how each dish was just one flavor boom after the next. Cannot wait to return! The best and the service was so friendly and made sure we had the best time, even as the night wrapped.

Very nice Pan-Asian restaurant with good food and cocktails. I had the 9-courses £45 tasty menu which was good but probably not the best value for money since all the dishes were shared between two people (therefore £90 for the 9 dishes) and the sum of the individual dishes from the regular menu would have been lower. Most dishes were good, especially the Malaysian Chicken Curry Puffs and the Mamak BBQ Chicken; while the Truffle Egg Fried Rice was definitely too salty. Desserts are phenomenal though, both the Sticky Mango and the Thai Tea Macaron were great and memorable. Cocktails are good too and, although rather small, they are not watered down. I had the Bangkok Margarita which was a nice twist to a regular Margarita.

We also told them we wanted to get the order to go and so they gave us waters and after checking out the menu, we ordered one each of the park and crab soup dumpling and the truffle chicken soup dumpling. The came out in about 10 minutes and even though we were in a hurry, we listened to the recommendation not to take it to go because it wouldn't taste as good. We ate in there in a matter of minutes and liked the pork and crab one better. The truffle chicken was unique though and I am glad we tried it. Great staff and vibe!

Came here with two friends for FirstTable!…read more Good: - the truffle soup dumplings were amazing! The soup was fun to suck out of the dumpling and there was this fun flipping spoon thing to do afterwards as well - The pacman dumplings were fun - I didn't think they tasted the best but the presentation was delightful - The duck ho fen was amazing - I loved the flavor, the noodles were so chewy and the duck itself was a little dry though. - The bavette fried rice was good- meat still dry - Food came out so fast! great service and nice staff - The place was very fun ambiance-wise and I enjoyed the casual but upscale asian fusion theme - Super reasonably priced! Bad: - The meat was dry in all the dishes we had, too chewy and not juicy enough Overall I enjoyed the experience and would highly recommend!

Duck & Rice, Soho, London, England -- April 5…read more Our family of four with two kids ages 9 and 10 made our way to Duck & Rice after walking through the Chinatown area, which was absolutely packed and fun to explore, and we were looking for something lively with shareable dishes, and the overall experience felt energetic with some real highs and a few misses. Arrival and First Impressions The space has a strong personality with a mix of pub and restaurant energy and it felt busy from the moment we walked in, matching the chaos outside in Soho, but still relatively well controlled with a steady flow of service and a constant buzz that made it feel like a place always in motion. The Highlights Food came out quickly and leaned into that comfort style Chinese menu with a mix of dumplings and larger plates, and the soup dumplings were the clear favorite for the table with both kids fully on board which is always a win. The crispy duck with pancakes was also solid and more in line with what we expected, and overall the variety kept everyone engaged even if the kids stayed mostly in their comfort zone. The Challenges Portion sizes were a bit tricky for a family of four with several dishes coming in sets of three which meant ordering extra just to share evenly, and a few items missed the mark including shu mai that felt a bit dry. The duck and rice being served closer to room temperature was intentional to keep it tender but still felt a little off from expectation, and surprisingly there were no chili oil or similar condiments for the dumplings which would have helped quite a bit. The overall noise and energy level can also be a lot after a full day out. Final Thoughts This is a lively spot that fits right into the Soho and Chinatown energy and works well if you are looking for a fun fast paced meal with shareable dishes, but it is not without a few quirks and inconsistencies. We are glad we tried it and there are definitely things worth ordering, but with so many strong options nearby we would probably explore elsewhere next time, making it worth it for the experience but not a must return.

They are known for providing foods from various Far Eastern countries. My meal was excellent. I had Prawn Crackers to start. A good sized portion came out. The crackers had a bit of a kick to them which was fine with me since I like spicy food. I followed it with Duck Pancakes (Shredded duck, hoisin sauce, fresh cucumber & spring onions) which was like Moo Shoo Duck and a Yamato Fillet Steak (Fillet seared to perfection with fresh garlic, black peppercorns, butter, and sake served with fried onion) which is one of their signature dishes. I had an Egg Fried Rice to go with the Steak. My drink was a St. Clements Cocktail (Tropical fresh orange, sweet pineapple & sour lemon juice, topped with white rum & orange liqueur) was very refreshing and something that I will try to make at home. Nick was my server. He took good care of me. I enjoyed chatting with him, and would ask for him again when I return.
