I found out this morning that there's an employee in this building that cannot read English or is illiterate and cannot follow through with a request. A DVD has to be taken from where the Dropbox is inside the building to somebody else in the building. I've been informed that whoever the employee is cannot do this and therefore the DVD hasn't been getting to the right person. I would suggest employing some people that have got some work ethics and can follow through with this simple task. read more

Impressive library that's huge and very well organized, aesthetically pleasing, holds an extensive collection of books for all ages, as well as looks well maintained. We enjoyed our little visit here though we only had a little over an hour before closing. The children's section takes up about half of the second floor. There's tons of books (obviously), DVDs, periodicals, and even artistic creations by children and community members. Looks like that's also a lot of different programs and events you can attend or join here. The building itself is quite inspiring as it's got some very nice architectural features like angled walls, wood paneling for ceilings, lots of use of metal textures and non symmetrical designs which really makes this library an interesting place to hang out at. There's even a cafe on the first floor in case you get hungry. Overall, we enjoyed our visit. read more

This is a great library. It's beautiful but it is also a good size with a great selection. My kids LOVE the youth areas. And I love to sit up there with them because the windows are expansive and the views are wonderful. I also utilize the feature offered by the library to order a book online from any of the libraries in the county and have them delivered to my library of choice. That has been so helpful. read more

Due to the construction and wanting to drop my 2 DVDs off when I normally would because the library was closed I asked an employee today who wais actually inside the building to simply take two of my DVDs and put them in the Dropbox inside. Completely and utterly unwilling to help. I wouldn't recommend this library to anybody. read more

So I decided to take my grandson to the PVPL for both of our first times....we had a blast.... They have a cute coffee café as you walk in on the ground floor! The layout of the library is gracious to say the least. The staff is extremely helpful and it's just a nice fun place! Not like when we were kids and everyone was always Shhhhh! Shh! you!! Come and take stroll around the place, its a nice adventure!! read more

Reminds me of an idustrial type library. It's not your typical cozy, at home, touchy feely kind of library. This one is very modern with lots of steel beams and steel walls. It's like a huge piece of abstract art that offers the exploration into the imagination. As soon as you walk in you notice the expanse of the whole place. I felt so small. A nice lady who was behind the check out counter greeted me and asked if I needed any help. Yes, I needed to get a library card. She was very friendly and helpful. Once I received my new card, I slowly wandered around trying to figure out where things were. The main area has a plethora of books. And yes, it even even has a small cafe. Computer's, videos and audio tapes can also be checked out there. The teen section is located on the main floor in the back, while the children's section is upstairs. Ohh, and yes, this library even has a big auditorium upstairs. Nothing is small here. They offer computer classes, children story times, crafts and so much more. Parents beware of the upstairs groomer! My wife and I took our 9 y/o son to the Prescott Valley library to check out some books that would peak his interest in reading. The staff referred us to the children's section upstairs when they learned his age. The upstairs librarian asked what topics he may like. We informed her he likes adventures, sports, cars and trucks, motorcycles, and just about anything outdoors. She then asked how old he was. When she learned he was 9, she became very excited to tell us about a special section for kids 9-12 years old called the tween section and told us we should check that area. When my wife and I were searching around the tween section we found books on sex, growing up transgender, pride books, BLM books, among many other very inappropriate books for young children. Fortunately we noticed this and we were able to usher our son and other kids away from the area before they could see any of this. What that section didn't include was books on just about every topic we told the librarian he was interested in! Why would she send us to that area with our young kids! That is not her place to push her agenda on our family and we will not be visiting again! So very disappointing. read more

An interesting library that has tons of great books. Friendly staff and convenient computer stations that help you locate books. If you have a mobile device you can sign up to get selected library books by electronic means. Comfortable areas to sit and read a book. A cafe is available to have a snack. It's very clean, quiet and the staff is always a pleasure. The little cafe is amazing, love everything in there. Great coffee and munchies. The building itself is beautiful and well established, so many genres of books, movies, audio books, magazines, etc. read more

This library was build with adults in mind. Big, spacious, with plenty of huge rooms for events and small rooms you can rent out to study in. Very industrial-looking and beautiful. But the design has one major flaw: echoing noise. The children's section is upstairs, but there's nothing to divide it from the rest of the library. It's all open space. When my child stubs her toe instead of comforting her I have to shush her and cover her mouth so that she doesn't disturb the "quiet" of the library. Also, you have to walk through the downstairs to get upstairs, and children aren't known for being discreet. My son was talking loudly (he was three at the time) and a man walking past us told him to "shut the f**k up." He said that to my three-year-old. I know he wasn't a library employee, but I've always felt panicky and on edge there ever since. Not a kid-friendly design. Wish my kids and I felt comfortable at our library. read more

This library is very modern. They have a strong website and good presence in the community. I am able to reserve books online and borrow ebooks as well as going into the library and getting help for anything I need related to books. The staff is courteous and well-informed. They also have a nice little coffee shop which is patronized by many people. This is a good perk. If they don't have a book on shelf, they will assist you in obtaining it from another library. If you have email, they will notify you that way. Then you can go right in and get it. Very convenient. They are open long hours Monday-Thursday, and somewhat shorter hours on Friday and Saturday. They are a real asset to Prescott Valley. read more
