When you're in the mountains isn't it a requirement to stay in a cabin? In all seriousness, I don't like to really rough it and I am always a little nervous when my boyfriend says, "Hey! I booked a cabin in South Fork." Where in the h*ll is South Fork? I would reiterate what a lot of the other reviews say, the owners are very nice and even though you can tell the buildings are dated, they make sure they are very clean units and ours was decorated super cute; Route 66. We did ride motorcycles and had a great place to park right next to it and because the weather didn't warm up until around 11am when we were there they gave us an hour later check out to ensure we wouldn't have to ride our motorcycles on potentially frosty roads. We arrived in town after 8pm so literally everything was closed but when the next day arrived and you could see everything...what a cute little town. We will definitely be back!

Went to Creede and surrounding areas for weekend trip and checked into the Chinook cabins. We stayed in Grandmas Cottage. Very cute and cozy. The folks there were very nice and have lots of pride in their place and it shows. The cabin was neat and clean stocked with everything you need for a stay. The old timey sink was the best !! Would give it 5 stars but the heater was so noisy, clinking and clanking Great place.

Owners Rich and Debbie were great. They accidentally double-booked us in another cabin on the 4th of July weekend (unfortunately, we were the latter booking), and cut us a great deal for a single night in the Victorian Rose cabin. Plus, they called around to help find us a place to stay on our second night. The cabin we stayed in is over 100 years old, but in great shape. Very fun place to stay. And, we had lunch the next day at the smokehouse barbecue, which Rich and Debbie both run on the property. It was great!! Oh, and they're pet-friendly, so we were able to have our dog with us, too. Highly recommend them!

Dave (owner) and his wife were super friendly, as was his mother, Crystal. We had a nice, quiet…read morespot, near hummingbird feeders, so we had constant entertainment. Apparently a bear(s) visited the campground all three Thursday nights we were there (and a few other nights, as well). The bear(s) was interested in the hummingbird feeders and trash bins, but Dave splashed Pine Sol around and that seemed to deter them. On the day we were to leave, we were on track to pull out between 10:00 and 10:30 AM, until I walked around to the street-side of the trailer to remove the chocks and discovered the tire had deflated so much, I could not remove either one. While we were inflating the tire, Dave showed up and started helping, unbidden. As it turned out, he ended up getting his jack, jacking up the trailer, removing the tire, placing it in the bed of the truck and telling us where to go to get the valve stem repaired. He said he'd check on the trailer periodically while we were gone to make sure no one was getting too close to the jack, etc. (He estimated it would be an hour; turned out to be more like 1.5 hours). No sooner had we returned and backed the truck up in front of the trailer, he was already out there to get the tire out of the bed of the truck and put it back on the trailer! When it was all said and done, my husband asked him what we owed him because we had way overstayed our check-out time and this sort of service certainly isn't in his job description, Dave refused anything. That was a lot of work, and we truly appreciate it.
