Wonderful accommodating and pleasant staff!

Wonderful service, great food, cute place! I'd recommend trying this restaurant for some really nice Peruvian food

Chios Rotisserie, Garner NC
Bruce K.

Hi. My name is Bruce. I am a Peruvian Chicken addict. Chios got me another fix and that's a good thing. As is usual, this chicken is rotisserie cooked over charcoal. It is moist, delicious and they sauces they offer range from mild to nuclear. I went with the medium yellow sauce and it was perfect. The restaurant is clean, the young lady who took my order was nice, and the dinner was inexpensive. I'm a fan! [Review 11909 overall, 1691 of 2019.]

Quick healthy meal choice: 1/4 white chicken with 2 regular generous sized sides--salad and black beans. Salad is only romaine a few shredded carrots and cucumbers with choice of three dressings: Italian, ranch or balsamic. Huge cup of lovely black beans, perfectly spiced and served hot. The chicken was tender, juicy and the breast was well endowed, really a good sized portion. A filling meal for $7.99. Order at the counter and in no time they deliver to your table. Brisk takeout business on this Monday evening. Big menu for a small place--chicken and 11 different sides, plus 5 main entrees (all Peruvian but pictures and descriptions provided), 5 sandwiches that can be made into combos plus 4 different desserts to choose from. I'll be back to explore something new, now that I've tasted how good their chicken is.

Whole chicken w yucca & tostones = $20!!

If you're searching for some of the best rotisserie chicken with traditional Peruvian sides, Chios Rotisserie should not be missed! It's a small little local family-owned restaurant with 5-6 tables & counter service, and I love the bright painting on the walls. The staff is always SUPER friendly & the food quality is perfect! I'm so fond of Mami Noras but this place competes because their sauces are better + their fryer oil is changed daily & the food just tastes so much cleaner (and the building is much cleaner too!)It's tucked away in a shopping center at the intersection of Timber Dr & Hwy70 (one of my fave shopping centers bc it's 5min from downtown Raleigh & is never busy!). The food is made fresh to order and is always so tasty. Sara & I get a whole rotisserie chicken + 2 large sides, and it ends up being $20... for a ton of food! I love the yucca fries because they're crispy & so flavorful, and they're SO good dipped in their 4 housemade dipping sauces. They have 2 mustard based ones, 1 hot one, and 1 garlic chimichurri type sauce. The hot one is soooo good (lots of pica & heat) and the chimichurri is so garlicky & flavorful. Very unique & very good! What more? They also do made-to-order empanadas, though those take ~10-15mins to make & cook thoroughly... but you can call ahead to save yourself time! Annnnnndddddd..... THEY DELIVER!!! They deliver within 5 miles of the restaurant! Score. All in all, Chios will treat you right... do yourselves a favor & get here now! The flavors are on point, the service is great, and it's definitely not to be missed!!

Lots of flavor! Even on the fries lol chicken is really moist and flavorful, and sold it a good price for the Quarter combo. Corn was crisp yet sweet. I really liked it

The chicken here is amazing. If you are a fan of coal slaw then you are in for a treat as well. The staff is super friendly (they let me wear the chicken) and we will certainly be returning for more!

Best rotisserie chicken I had in years since i moved from NYC to NC Good service and nice decor

This little rotisserie is my new favorite. I love it. It's tucked back in a shopping center and is super convenient to just swing by after some shopping. There is plenty of parking so there is no reason to not check it out. The restaurant is super clean and tons of seating. It is a bright and cheery spot with the friendliest staff around. The rotisserie chicken is tender and spiced to perfection. My favorite sides are the yucca and the tostones. I comment every time how fresh they taste which tells me they clean their oil constantly. If I could give 6 stars I would.

Tried this as an alternative to Alpaca. Very tasty. More sauces than Alpaca and larger portion sizes

After running errands, we drove just six minutes to El Chapin, a Guatemalan restaurant. Forget Tex-Mex--this is a completely different Latin cuisine experience. The two of us spent $76 (including tax and tip), but we intentionally ordered extra to take home leftovers. Parking was easy, right out front, and the restaurant itself is spacious. Since we arrived just a few minutes after opening, we had the place to ourselves at first and were seated immediately. Service was prompt and very helpful--the server even suggested we might have ordered too much food (he was right, but we didn't mind!). Here's what we tried: Plato Chorizo y Longaniza - a sausage platter with salad, rice, refried black beans, and two delicious housemade corn tortillas. Pollo Adobado - marinated chicken with rice, salad, refried black beans and two housemade corn tortillas . Ceviche de Camarón - fresh and tangy, though light on shrimp, which tasted a bit tough Fried Plantains - perfectly done, sweet, and satisfying. Plus, I had an unsweetened iced tea with lemon. The highlights for me were the flavorful rice (with vegetables mixed in, including carrots and squash), the marinated chicken, and the sausages. The plantains were also excellent. The ceviche had great flavor but could've used more shrimp. The only miss for me was the salad--generous in portion but iceberg-based, so a bit bland. Overall, the food was fresh, flavorful, not heavy or greasy, and we left with enough for another one or two meals. We'll definitely be back.

Che Empanadas - Some sort of yummy spicy meat and pepper one

Rating based on: Consistency, Cleanliness, Quality, Taste, and Presentation…read more Let me be REAL with you....I walked into Che Empanadas thinking this was some ordinary empanada spot. I was magnificently WRONG. This place is absolutely BANGING, and I'm so glad I found it tucked away here in Raleigh, NC. First up, the Beef Empanada. Listen. The meat is juicy, tender, seasoned with what I can only describe as impeccable love. The crust? Flaky, moist, golden perfection. Ground beef, onions, peppers, olives....every bite hits different. You can TELL they put their heart into this.... Then I tried the Dino Cheese....a scrumptious four-cheese blend wrapped in that same magnificent golden crust, dipped in their Chimichurri sauce, and oh my GOD. The flavor combo is luscious beyond words. That chimi hits like a flavor bomb and elevates every single bite. Now let me keep it honest with you because you know I'm a REAL one....in the pictures, the empanadas look a lot bigger than what they are in person. But with that said, if you have the urge to put up a couple extra dollars, this experience is WORTH it. Every. Single. Penny. The Knish....a Jewish-Argentinian classic with homemade potato and caramelized onion wrapped in flaky dough....MELTS in your mouth. I'm telling you, it's worth the drive alone. Scrumptious doesn't even begin to cover it. And the sweets? The Cubana....guava and cream cheese pastry....is luscious, buttery, and hits that perfect sweet spot. The Alfajor de Chocolate....dulce de leche sandwiched between crispy chocolate wafers and dipped in chocolate....absolutely MAGNIFICENT. Sumptuous is right. I tried about 80% of the menu and everything was delicious. And believe me, I KNOW good bakeries. I grew up a few blocks from Delancey Street in NYC....you feel me? I've been to more bakeries than I can count, and Che Empanadas? It takes the cake. The presentation is clean, the packaging is on point, and you can taste the authenticity in every bite. This isn't some mass-produced nonsense....this is handcrafted, Argentine soul food done RIGHT. Do yourself a favor. Go. Now. RIGHT NOW.. for a religious experience and I don't even care if you're atheist or not this place will blow your mind away.!

Che Empanadas is located inside Transfer Co. Food Hall on the southern edge of downtown Raleigh…read more Coming from North Raleigh, it's a bit of a trek, but Transfer Co. has become a regular destination for us despite the drive. Parking can usually be found outside, but on the Sunday morning we visited, the lot and nearby street spaces were full. I circled back to Chavis Way, where parking is more reliable, and from there a short trail leads straight into the food hall. There was no line, and our order was taken promptly. We started with: Bacon, Egg & Cheese Empanada Sausage, Egg & Cheese Empanada At $9.20 + tax and tip for two, it was a light but flavorful start. The empanadas were so good that we each went back for another round, bringing the total to $18.40 + taxes and tip for two empanadas each which was plenty of food for breakfast. The empanadas themselves were excellent: flaky crusts, generous fillings, and thoughtful seasoning. Both flavors were outstanding, and in past visits we've had the same experience with other varieties. Seating was plentiful inside the hall, and water is available in the center. Servie is prompt and friendly. In my opinion, these are the best empanadas in the triangle, and maybe the best we've ever had. Highly recommended.

This is the short summary: Don't go, this place is infested with cockroaches see pics. Complete…read morereview: I came here with my whole family and my in laws on Saturday. I am Peruvian and I've eaten at the Mi Peru restaurant in Durham a few times and I always liked it, it was too far for me though. Once I found out another Mi Peru opened closer I had to try it. For starters the strip mall where it is located is not the nicest location. The restaurant itself feels a bit old and not very clean. I was about to leave but I decided to take a chance. We ordered a few dishes to share: ceviche, chicharron de pescado, arroz chaufa, aji de gallina and seco de res. And even desserts : Alfajor, tres leches and crema volteada. Food overall wasn't bad, I actually liked it, it wasn't amazing but not bad at all. The service on the other hand was terrible, there was a young guy and a young girl who had no idea how to wait tables, we were missing silverware, we had to ask for plates and glasses, .... That duo was a mess. They seemed too occupied flirting with each other than caring for the 2 tables that were occupied. Anyhow, when we got to bill I noticed that an 18% tip was mandatory !! 18 % for the terrible service I had received, that was really unfair. I paid over $180 for 5 adults and 2 kids and terrible service. Up until that point I was determined to leave and just give this place 3 stars . But then I decided to go to the bathroom and on my way to the bathroom there was a cockroach in the hallway, that was disgusting so I moved quickly into the bathroom. Inside the bathroom under the sink there was another cockroach !!! I almost threw up wondering how many cockroaches are probably running around in the kitchen!!! It is sad for me to post this as a Peruvian but I care more about the safety of the people and the reputation of the Peruvian food. My advice to the owners of Mi Peru.( the original ) which I respect. Don't destroy your brand, close the restaurant and fumigate it completely, then remodel it, clean it, hire better waiters and then reopen. Or pick a nicer location if possible. I am not coming back and will advise everyone I know not to go either.
