We placed our takeout order at the counter and it was ready in about 10-15 minutes which was just enough time for me to finish my beer. I ordered the quarter white chicken with tacu tacu (rice topped with beans) and corn plus a side of plantains to split with the group. Thank goodness someone told me about this place. It doesn't look like much from the outside and even after you enter. But, take your time looking at the menu and pictures of their selections. EVERYTHING is delicious, and reasonably priced. I got the whole chicken to last me for a couple of days. And always the sweet plantains. The flavors are out of this world. Group of three stopped by for lunch. A great little strip mall restaurant surrounded by competitors of different Nationalities. Bright interior. Walk in and order at the counter and they will bring it out to you. No fountain drinks but lots of bottled drinks. Food was spectacular. Cooked to order so there is a wait. The chicken was tasty, and we really enjoyed the yellow mayo based sauce. I'd never heard of "Tacu Tacu" before, so I looked it up on my phone, most pictures I saw it had a fried egg on it - this is just stale rice with pinto bean paste. No egg. It's considered a "premium" side for some reason - would not recommend. Also disappointed with the black beans and the chimichuri dipping sauce. The beans were very under seasoned. We had to go look for salt. It helped, but some garlic and spices would do wonders. The chimichuri looked awesome; bright green, lots of parsley - but just had no flavor at all. My wife got the house salad - just limp lettuce, cabbage and carrots out of a bag. It wasn't horrible, nothing was 'bad', but nothing was amazing either. read more

Brisk takeout business on this Monday evening. It's a small little local family-owned restaurant with 5-6 tables & counter service, and I love the bright painting on the walls. The staff is always SUPER friendly & the food quality is perfect! I'm so fond of Mami Noras but this place competes because their sauces are better + their fryer oil is changed daily & the food just tastes so much cleaner (and the building is much cleaner too!)It's tucked away in a shopping center at the intersection of Timber Dr & Hwy70 (one of my fave shopping centers bc it's 5min from downtown Raleigh & is never busy!). The food is made fresh to order and is always so tasty. Sara & I get a whole rotisserie chicken + 2 large sides, and it ends up being $20... for a ton of food! I love the yucca fries because they're crispy & so flavorful, and they're SO good dipped in their 4 housemade dipping sauces. They have 2 mustard based ones, 1 hot one, and 1 garlic chimichurri type sauce. The hot one is soooo good (lots of pica & heat) and the chimichurri is so garlicky & flavorful. How often do you see a 5 star review when they leave out part of your order? They forgot my 3 leche cake but it happens on deliveries sometimes. The half chicken was so tender and well seasoned - I don't think it could be made any better. Same with the side of black beans - huge portion and absolutely delicious. Salad and fries good too. But this chicken is outstanding! Highly recommend. Go in person and they'll give you your cake too which I didn't really need because portions were so big. read more

Reviews are based on chives and today my choice was not the best for a place like this. I loved the menu but instead of getting what they specifically in I got chicken salad. It was average, chunky meat but took much mayo. The yucca fries were nicely done. Overall just an average meal. The service was terrific and I will return to try something else. read more

Adding an update (March 8, 2022) Cold rainy night, stopped in to grab a very fast dinner with my son. It was 7:35. My son informed me they closed at 8:00 pm, but I figured we could quickly eat and be done by then. Ordered dinner ($30 total), and was given our order (wrapped up like it was to go, which I thought was odd.) Sat down to eat and asked for utensils. Was literally asked by by the (owner?) if we wanted to go eat outside. They were getting ready to close at 8:pm. Um.. seriously? Did I mention the cold, windy, rainy part? AND it was only 7:45. AND there was another couple at another table still eating. If they were planning on taking our order and money, we should have been told beforehand that the order would need to be "to go". I would have left and gone to Chik-Fil-A where I could sit and eat. We have frequented Chios MANY times in the past. Looks like Alpaca or Chik Fil A just became our new go-to Not knocking the food at Chios, which we have always enjoyed, but the entire incident left us with a VERY bad taste. read more

The best ceviche I have had outside Miami. It isn't that the Miami spots were better, it's just where I have eaten ceviche this delicious. My fourth time ordering and they're consistently good. I order the fish ceviche bc of shellfish allergies so haven't tried the others. So good! read more

This little rotisserie is my new favorite. I love it. It's tucked back in a shopping center and is super convenient to just swing by after some shopping. There is plenty of parking so there is no reason to not check it out. The restaurant is super clean and tons of seating. It is a bright and cheery spot with the friendliest staff around. The rotisserie chicken is tender and spiced to perfection. My favorite sides are the yucca and the tostones. I comment every time how fresh they taste which tells me they clean their oil constantly. Fantastic! We've tried other excellent Peruvian chicken places in the area, and Chios Rotisserie rates right up there with them. Today, we were greeted immediately and given plenty of time to look at the huge wall menu before we ordered. The woman who greeted us and took our order was friendly and smiling and checked on us frequently to make sure we were happy with our food (we were!). The chicken (we both ordered 1/4 white) was perfectly cooked and spiced, and the sides (yucca fries, plantains and black beans) met our high expectations. The restaurant is clean, bright and very small. The chairs could have been more comfortable and the cutlery was in a communal basket so many hands touched it, but those are the only "deltas." It had been too long since we'd been to this shopping center in Garner. We now have a very good reason to go more often! read more

Happy that this local place exists in the Garner area. The staff is always super nice and accommodating. You can tell they really care about the business and the food they are putting out. Overall, the food is quite good, a few sides aren't my favorite (corn, house salad). The rotisserie chicken is very good and done just right, however, a couple of their other mains are not quite perfected (ceviche plate). Recently moved from North Raleigh to the Garner area and it is not so easy to find delicious food around this zip code ‍ (to put it nicely). I had been craving Peruvian, and I am so glad I ran across this place! They are soooooo good, the chicken is seasoned perfectly, I love their veggie rice, white rice, and their black beans. I am looking forward to trying the rest of their menu. I do, however, wish their "large" size was a bit larger. It's only a smidge bigger than their regular sized sides. 10/25 Deivery problem solved. Ordered Ubereats today and had the option to order each item individually. My food was delivered hot, fresh and delicious. If you order with Doordash you are forced to order a combo with each entre which includes a side and a drink and jacks the price way up. Now I get the menu set up for this restaurant so I can continue to order this awesome food at a reasonable price from Ubereats. read more

This place used to be very good pre pandemic, we loved the rotisserie chicken and all of the sides but I'm thinking that the pandemic has taken its toll on financially on the owners and the menu items have suffered. The chicken was very bland, didn't taste like rotisserie chicken, just a random back chicken leg quarter. The black beans were bland, like someone just opened a can and heated them up. The yum fries were still good but the tostones were small and tough. The yellow sauce tasted very salty and not like it used to at all. It was pretty disappointing to say the least. The people working there are very nice so it pains me to give a 2 star review.. I hope they are able to get back to the way they used to cook.. as for now we won't return. read more

Updated review. Have been back several times and they had chicken every time! I particularly like the fact that if you get a to-go order you get a container of all the different dips. Nice touch. I haven't done a call in order but instead have simply walked in and requested an order to go. Even without a heads-up the wait time has been no more than 5 minutes. Not bad. Not bad at all. Oh, the chicken. Super yummy. Sorry, but I have to give you the lowest rating possible. Why? Simple, I went there to get some yummy chicken and what did they NOT have. Yup. Chicken. I arrived at 6:45 on a Friday evening and they didn't have any white meat chicken and stated that it would be 15 minutes before I could get that...during their grand opening. Not only that, there were three people ahead of me waiting for the same thing. So sad. I will try them one more time to see if they are able to get their act together. read more

Quality food. The seasonings and sauces are really delicious and authentic and the service is pretty good. The restaurant itself is really small and quaint and always very clean. The beef empanadas have boiled egg, raisins, and olives in them which sounded strange to me at first but they definitely make it work. The arroz chaufa is great as well but a little too oily. The fries weren't great but that's just me nitpicking. Overall I was satisfied with this restaurant and I will be back. read more

tl;dr We've now eaten from Chios Rotisserie several times. What started a five star experience has now ended at a "meh" experience. The food is solid, but the people running the restaurant appear not to have much experience doing so. Their online presence is a disaster and ultimately creates a poor customer service experience that blemishes the otherwise quite wonderful food. Oh -- and be careful when you bite into the empanadas; mine consistently contained olive pits. Full Review: When we first went to Chios we stopped at the restaurant and ordered a to go menu. It was fabulous. The chicken delicious, the sides yummy, and the empanada to tide me over while waiting nice and made-to-order. This was a place we were going to return to over and over when in the mood for delicious Latin American rotisserie chicken. The next time we ordered online, we used their website, which was difficult to navigate. The food had been so great, we didn't mind. I went to pick up the order and found the place nearly closed, with the kitchen shut down and staff mopping. I explained I was there to pick up my order that I had placed 30 minutes earlier. I was told that the restaurant was closed, the kitchen had been closed and the order had been received after closing hours. When I questioned why the website would allow me to place an order when the place was pretty much closed, I was essentially told I had screwed up and I should have looked at the restaurant's opening hours before ordering. Great customer service. I asked that our bill please be credited, since the food wasn't available, and the manager told me she would do it the next day (she did). We tried one more time, this time carefully ordering online while the restaurant was open. We again struggled with the website but managed to place our order for takeout. I went and picked up the order. When we got home, the food was good, but not as flavorful as our first visit. The empanada contained olives (and also egg, if you're not used to that) that had not been pitted, so I bit down on several pits or pit fragments. This seems an easy mistake to avoid. I also realized a few items in our order got missed. None of it was a big deal ultimately, but given the previous take out hassles and the declining food experience, we soured on the restaurant and it's gone from one of our favorites in the area to a "maybe, if we can't think of anything else and are too lazy to cook at home" choice. We hope your experience is better than ours, as it's a cute place with home cooked food that is definitely above average. read more

Went back to chios recently as I was working in the area. As I previously wrote on my last review, the food is good but one thing I noticed that will make me not return is the portion sizes have significantly decreased. I paid almost 9 dollars (with tax) for a quarter chicken. That seems excessive and I left feeling hungry. I live close to Chios Rotisserie so I was excited to see we had a place to Peruvian Chicken near by. I stopped in and got two whole chickens and a good assortment of their sides. I have to say I was a bit underwhelmed. The food was not bad by any stretch but they aren't a par with Mama Nori's. Atmosphere 2 - This is your typical strip mall takeout place where you can eat at in a pinch. Service 4 - I have no complaints about the service. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and nice. Given it is counter service leaving me with such a good impression is saying a lot. Cost/Value 3 - The food quality is good but the prices are not cheap. Food 3 - The food was okay. Ordered Chios through Doordash today. Ordered the 1/2 Chicken with salad and vegetable rice and the Beef Lomito sandwich. I have dined at the restaurant many times. It is one of my favorite restaurants in the Garner/Raleigh area. The staff is extremely nice, professional and efficient. I haven't had a bad meal yet. Their rotisserie chicken is seasoned so well, always tender and juicy, crunchy seasoned skin. I get the vegetable rice and salad and use the yellow sauce for salad dressing. Their sauces are homemade from scratch and really really good. The Beef Lomito sandwich has beef strips, purple onion, tomato and lettuce on a homemade bun. Bread is fresh and the meat is tender and seasoned to perfection. If you are looking for HOMEMADE authentic Peruvian food, this is your place! It is locally owned and operated. Not a chain restaurant like the "other" place. Please choose locally owned and operated over the chain, corporate owned locations and support small businesses. This is a good one!! read more
