1. No clear demarcation of where to pick up delivery inside. It was chaos at the register and mistake are bound to happen. And my transaction was screwed up, but didn't know until I got my destination about 20 miles from the store. Even after clarifying my name on the order to cashier several times, she STILL gave me the wrong order. It was too far to go back to get our real order so we ended up scavaging food from the other people's order. Someone somewhere got my order. Unfortunately I made the mistake of stopping at your Butler, Pa. store with my wife for a lunch takeout and was sorely disappointed. I thought I ordered the Barbacoa Beef burrito but when I got home it was not as requested. The Barbacoa I usually receive when ordering this burrito is supposed to be shredded and somewhat spicy. I received chunks of meat ( lots were burnt) with no flavor and many pieces full of gristle. Since I live 20 miles from this store, it was not possible to return and exchange for what I originally ordered. I guess one needs to open the bag and inspect the burrito to confirm what was ordered is what was to be in the bag. Not planning on returning to Chipotle anytime in the near future. It was a nice effort to spice up Butler's fast food selection, but the execution left my heart as empty as my belly. The chicken burrito reminded me of a snowy PA roads: cold and salty. You're lucky if it's only the hope that kills you not the bacteria from undercooked poultry. Secondly, the store as a whole made my local landfill seem like a better place to scoop some guacamole -- when they actually have it. Lastly, I must give credit to the employees for putting up with what seems like a lackluster general manager. I can't imagine the regional manager is too pleased with this location. The health department needs to check on this location and shut them down. Ever since it opened it has been absolutely filthy. I sat there eating wanting to puke at how horrendous the store is. Workers walked past me as I ate. How is this level of filth ok? It doesn't make you want to eat the food if the store is that filthy. Now I'm scared I have food poisoning from this place. That's how dirty the store is. Sorry I didn't want to even take pictures I was so appalled. Food all over the floor got stuck in my shoes. The table I ate at had grease and food debris. The worst Chipotle I've been to - shocking, actually. Counters were not cleaned at all, meat was gristly, chips were stale, out of fajitas. One worker stood at register instead of helping at least clean off the counters. The health dept should check this place out. Very disappointed. read more

Visited twice in July, three weeks apart, and left with the same impression. During both visits I was with a different person who and without any prompting, voiced the same concerns that I had. Poor cleanliness throughout the dining area - hand prints on glass, food and trash on the floors, drink area unkempt, and tables/chairs in disarray. Shoddy food management. The first time they were out of chicken, yesterday they were out guacamole and scraping the bottom of the steak pan with burnt pieces remaining. This is a common complaint in the critiques i read. Poor workflow. Had four people (that I saw) "working", but only one person was fulfilling orders while one was busy in the prep area and two others stood and watched. Bottom-line seems to be the same problems that affects other poorly ran restaurants - lack of competent leadership is the foremost problem and then possibly faulty work processes or inadequate training and oversight. That said, I did enjoy the meal I got even though I couldn't get the choices I wanted. However, one more visit without the other issues being corrected will be my last. read more

The food was OK but nothing spectacular. What has really bothered me is the condition of the store. Everything in the steam table is almost empty and looks dried out. They always seem to be scraping the end of something to get your food. This is a brand new store and its worrisome that it is already in this condition. On our last visit neither bathroom had any TP or paper towels (I am not exaggerating). The staff acted immediately when i told them and were very friendly. I would love to have this choice available in Butler so I really really hope they clean up their act and get on their feet. This is a Chipotle disappointment. Several issues account for the low rating. But first the food is good. Secondly the service is good for what it is , they basically just prepare your order. On the down side is the constant lack of some items. It is rare that they will have prepared enough salad dressing. There is no substitute for this so you just don't get a dressing for your salad. We always have chicken except when they are out of chicken!! Really! The entire restaurant is unkempt. The floors are littered, the serving counter is littered with food from other orders, the trash receptacles overflowing, bench seat is loose and other trash cans are partially blocking the rear exit. Workers were there but weren't directed to address these issues so they socialized. No one seems happy, so this attitude was reflected in their customer interactions. Adding to these woes they wanted to charge an additional fee for the burrito which has forever been free when ordering a bowl or a salad ! I've had chipotle for years and in many locations. Friendly service, but the food was subpar and not as advertised. Ordered the Whole30 Salad Bowl with carnitas. The meat wasn't warm, and there were no "fajita veggies" or salsa. There were greens, a reasonable-to-generous amount of meat, diced tomatoes, maybe 5 little pieces of red onion, and a lot of guacamole. You could maybe argue that the tomatoes and onions where the salsa, but nothing resembled fajita veggies. They had mistagged the bag when I picked up and made it fresh while I waited. Beyond the pleasant employees, I really don't have much good to say. All I ordered was a pretty basic chicken burrito. It wasn't hot (I'd say closer to cold than even warm), and the chicken had the texture of a cheap handbag. Beyond that, even the chips stunk. I'll give them a pass for being inferior than Chili's' chips (for who can really compete with that crispy triangle of genius?), but there's no value to be had here. You get like 20 boring chips. First I want to say I like Chipotle's food, when it's done the way it's supposed to be. I've tried this location about 5 times now. Always thinking it was an off day and would be better this time. This place is filthy. I'm not sure if they ever wipe the tables during business hours. Your always sure to find a few bits and pieces of others burritos who ate before you and those before them and so on. The floor is even worse. Yesterday when I stopped there was no utensils and no napkins. That's not unusual tho. There were dirty trays laying on the drink station and a few on tables. The nozzles on the soda machine were dirty. If you feel ill after dining here it may be from the mold on the nozzles. My advice is to buy a soda elsewhere, have some Clorox wipes handy, some pre-packaged utensils and some napkins in hand if you dine in. Better yet, order online, go in and grab your bag without looking around. Next the employees. There always seems to be enough to do what needs done, but it appears nothing gets done. There's a lot of standing and talking. While there is one exceptionally nice gentleman who works here, the rest look like they are in pain and can barely speak let alone fold the burrito. I pick it up to eat and everything falls out the bottom. I was the last one in line recently and when I was being rung up, the girl who made my burrito was picking food and eating it where she just made my lunch. Now the food. Dry cardboard chicken served from a container they are always scrapping the bottom of to fill the burrito. Beans that look as tho they had died in the pan. Rest in peace. Queso, well they scrap from the bottom of that as well. They dig through all the dried stuff on the sides that has crusted during the past 8 hours. I don't think they ever clean up the food area. Whatever falls off bowl or tortilla when it's being made just lies there. My guess is probably from open to close. Come on Chipotle. You have got to do better than this. We went the first week it opened and they were having typical just-opened problems which were forgivable. The meal was great nonetheless. Other reviewers write that the food wasn't hot but ours was plenty hot. We went back a few weeks later and they had run out of chicken but it didn't matter because we had a steak burrito and bowl. Even with these glitches the employees are so upbeat and pleasant that it makes it a great experience. The fellow behind the prep table alerted us to the fact that there was no chicken and presented us with all alternatives. The young man who rang up our meal made us feel like welcome customers and thanked us for our purchase. How often does that happen any more? read more

This is BY FAR the worst chipotle in PA. We have given them many chances and each time is worse than the last. We won't be back after today. They are ALWAYS out of stuff. Whether it's veggies, guacamole, chicken, UTENSILS. I wanted a simple bowl with pollo asada chicken , they said it was being cut and seasoned shouldn't be more than 5 mins .... It took the guy 5 mins just to put his gloves on, I watched him cut it, look up to see me still waiting and he stopped and started doing something else. No regard to the paying customers. This was the first I was in a Chipotle and the last judging from the Butler Chipotle. It was set up like a cafeteria in a cramped little space. The food was cold and the chicken was burnt. I never write restaurant reviews, but the experience was so bad I would warn people to stay away from this place. Been to Butler Chipotle 4 times in the last 3 months. No peppers or onions on every visit. This left a very bland bowl of rice, beans, and meat. Not very tasty or Mexican without peppers and onions. No unsweetened iced tea on first 2 visits. Got take out and brought my own drink for visit 3 and 4. I got better Mexican food at Applebee's. For $12 folks I will eat elsewhere to actually get what I pay for. Butler team members nice enough, but clueless. No initiative when things run out. Lack of management, lack of appropriate stock. Walmart & Aldi grocers within 200 yard walk. And no one could go get needed produce. They do not measure up to the Chipotle brand. No wonder it's empty every time I've been there. Food was cold, not a clean table in the joint, they are out of most everything, and the pop machine has been out for weeks. Just don't expect them to tell you that we you order a pop, because they won't. Oh and the guacamole was just a chunk of avocado in a little cup... that's not guacamole.
