Shrimp fajitas
Denise W.

This place was really busy so had to sit at the bar. The shrimp fajitas were yummy and the chips and salsa were good too. The service was great!

I guess I'm more of a traditionalist when it comes to authentic Mexican cuisine, but I wasn't really impressed with the style of fare and menu options here. If you like a trendy twist to Mexican food, like celery and waffle fries instead of beans and rice, this is the place for you.

Brussel sprouts

Absolutely loved everything we got. Birria quesadilla, Brussel spouts, fajitas, and frozen strawberry margs. The Brussels were absolutely amazing with the cotija cheese and lime. YUM. Crispy and perfect. Would return just for those alone. Great spot. Quick service. Thank you!

Always fresh food. I stopped for lunch & had the Mad Mex bowl with portobello mushrooms & it was fantastic. Grilled portobellos over farro, black beans, corn, peppers & onion. Guacamole on top. I had a 16 oz margarita on the rocks, but switched to a Patron silver next. They have a lot of tequilas to choose from. Still a solid choice for fresh Mexican food with a varied menu & lots of veg options. Nice interior decor.

The local Mad Mex I frequent has always been the closest to my house, as I find them all to be consistent. After moving closer to the Cranberry area, this location became our newest go-to. My favorite things about the chain in general include - 1.) Regular $5 20 ounce beer specials, where there is typically a good value (unique offering, high ABV, etc) 2.) Their rotating menu - obviously the Gobblerito is a fan favorite, but their rotating tacos, burritos and occasional wing specials are always appreciated 3.) Their Holiday deals (think $40 deal for two during Valentine's Day, margarita specials outside of normal Happy Hours, tequila specials) 4.) And of course, the basics - their staple items that we tend to order the most are always steady, from salads to tacos to enchiladas (I'm not a huge burrito guy, blasphemy, I know!) And while we always have good service here, in light of current events, their takeout has been appreciated and I can't thank their staff enough!

Getting lunch with friends

It was so great to be back for lunch and visiting one of several locations that's minutes from my home. It had been too long since my last visit. I met a small group for a lunch and we were seated promptly. It was fun to see all the holiday decorations up on NYE. Our server was friendly and we put orders right away for drinks followed by our meals. I enjoyed the festive Apple cider mule which was fantastic. Another friend enjoyed the margarita. I was thrilled to see the carnitas burrito was back on the menu which I ordered as a barito with guacamole on the side. It was so good I finished the whole thing. I left everyone try some of the blue corn bread and it was a a hit. Stop in if you are in the area.

Great bartenders and love the food. Expect texmex and not traditional Mexican. Then San Fran sauce is the best thing on the menu.

We aren't huge "chain" goers. My husband had just returned home from a two week work trip to Asia and we as craving Mexican food. We decided to finally give Emiliano's a try. The restaurant was far bigger than I realized and it was busy on a Friday night. It was clean, though I do feel like the tiled table may never be fully clean with the grout lines looking a little gross. We got our chips and salsa and ordered an additional queso. My husband got the fajitas, I got a burrito, and our 5 & 3 year old weren't feeling adventurous and chose the chicken fingers and fries. The fajitas weren't bad, but a very small portion for the cost. The burrito was interesting to me because the veggies inside were hardly cooked. I feel like mostly raw veggies aren't usually in a burrito and because of that I didn't enjoy it much. Not to mention the chicken was overcooked and "woody." Our kids ate their chicken fine and the fries were actually very good. The service was fine but pretty slow to refill drinks. That night after returning home my husband and I had a bout of diarrhea and our 3 year old was up all night throwing up and had diarrhea the whole next day. Somehow our five year old came out unscathed. We can only assume we got food poisoning and we will not be back. The food wasnt great before but really not good following our evening of sickness. Beware!

I ordered 3 tacos with 2 sides. The refried beans and rice were good. Two of the tacos had ground beef and one had chicken. All were bland with no spice or flavor at all. And the beef in the tacos didn't resemble beef. It was more like a beef mash (or mush). At first I thought they accidentally gave me bean tacos, but a closer look confirmed they were beef. Unfortunately, we won't likely go back.

I am not local to the Cranberry area, so this was my first time visiting this restaurant. This location of Patron Mexican Grill is right off of 79 and 228, and they have other locations in the greater Pittsburgh area. Since is is off a more major roadway, it is a little tricky to get into if you have never been before. There is not a direct turn from 228 into the parking lot, you have to turn off slightly before the restaurant. However, is it nothing crazy and is manageable to locate with a GPS. There is a large private parking lot for Patron, and also the multiple businesses nearby. You will not have any issue finding parking that is close to the entrance here! There is a lot of seating, and many different options - booths, low tables, bar seating, and even a patio. This restaurant will have no issues accommodating your party of any size. The place is decorated nicely, and it gives an elevated experience when dining inside. Truly, it feels like you stepped into a restaurant right off the street in Mexico and are under the stars and lights! We arrived around 7:30 on a Friday evening in August, and it was not very busy. A few other groups and couples were dining in on this night, but the majority of the restaurant was empty. Thus, we were seated immediately and served complimentary Chips and Salsa. My mom and sister ordered the Frozen Strawberry Margarita. They both opted for the 12-ounce size. The presentation was great, as they come with a sugar rim, lemon wedge, and lime wedge. I also thought that for the price, they were a great value. Once we had munched on the chips for awhile, we decided to order a Queso Dip to have along with the salsa. The Queso came, and it was pretty good. However, it does not come with chips, just FYI! The chips here are not bottomless, as you have to pay for refills. I was disappointed that we had to pay for more chips, even with ordering a more "premium" dip. Since this is rather unusual for a restaurant of this type, I was quite surprised to learn this. From the time we ordered until the time our entrees came, it was about 15 minutes, so very quick. Each of us got our own entree. My mom ordered the Taco Salad. The idea behind this is better than the actual execution. It comes in almost an extra-large taco shell with a deconstructed salad on top. Since it is in the shell, it was hard to combine and get a full bite out of. Also, the tomato was quite literally just an entire slice. This is one of those dishes that is cute for a picture, but unrealistic otherwise. My sister ordered a A-la-carte Beef Hard Shell Taco with Cheese and Lettuce, a A-la-carte Chicken Enchilada, and a side of Mexican Rice. She enjoyed her meal and did not have any issues. I also thought that for the prices of the a-la-carte items, the portions were pretty good. I ordered one of the Patron Especialidades, Carnitas, which came with pork tips, rice, beans, lettuce, pico de gallo, guacamole, jalapenos, and tortilla on the side. On the menu, this is marked as a Patron Signature Dish. Typically, I will order Carnitas at a new Mexican restaurant to be able to compare it to others I have had before. Unfortunately, this was just not good. The meat was extremely hard to chew and definitely overcooked. You expect this type of meat to be tender and moist, and this was the exact opposite. I am usually someone who can eat just about anything and enjoy it, but this was not good. I am not sure if it has been sitting for too long, or what the issue was, but I would strongly recommend against ordering this from here. The other aspects of the dish were fine, but considering the meat is the main part of the dish, this gets a thumbs down from me. Overall, I thought this place was expensive when compared to other restaurants with similar menus. On top of that, they seem to nickel and dime here, such as not giving refills on the chips. There were some items that were worth the value, but you need to be careful about what you are ordering. Our experience here was less than average. The food seemed to be hit or miss, as we enjoyed the appetizers and drinks, but 2 out of the 3 entrees we ordered were disappointing. I thought it was slightly expensive, but it seems like the portion sizes are generous. Service as a whole was average, could have been better could have been worse. I am not sure if I would choose to eat here again on my next trip to this area, but I am not completely against giving it another try to see if my visit just happened on an off day.

Food is average no complaints. Asked waitress about happy…read morehour or specials, she pointed to list including $2 queso so I ordered one plus dinner. Would have give the difference in tip to her but decided 10% was more than deserved. Ps: just walked outside to my car and threw up.

The vegetable options are limited, and that probably supports the authenticity of the place. The space is relatively small and attached to a small Mexican grocery store. The staff were very kind and on top of getting the order together in a short period of time. We placed an online order for takeout, and the overall experience went well. The restaurant is using an online ordering service I haven't heard of, which always feels like rolling the dice. In this case, everything went well and our order was ready exactly on time. In terms of the food, the vegetable sides were nicely done. The quesadilla was what it was. The vegetable option was uninspired, but I don't think the vegetable option was a priority for the restaurant. The vegetable fajitas was more of a block of cheese with some limited vegetables underneath, but it worked. Apply any required hot sauce and condiments. All told, I suspect this is a solid destination if you're aiming for a meat based option. It's a little bit of a stretch to try and find vegetable forward items. That's more of a me problem than a problem with the restaurant. It's certainly a better Mexican destination than I expected to find in Wexford.
