We both had the honey chipotle chicken so we know that was what did it. Not worth the experience, I recommend the location in lenoir - have never had an issue with them. On Friday 12/1/23 at 11:13 am I went to Chipotle in Hickory, NC for the first time ever with my husband on our Day Date. We wanted to go someplace where we have never gone before to eat lunch. Upon sitting down and beginning to eat, we realized the food was not even heated nor was the cheese dip and the chips were so salty that we were unable to eat them. I ate about a 1/4 of my burrito and my husband ate about 1/3 of his burrito bowl. We left most of the food. It didn't taste good. By the end of the evening we were sick as dogs! Food poisoning! Why? They gave my husband little to no chicken LITERALLY NOT EVEN A FULL SCOOP, as I asked for more chicken they said they were upcharging for another scoop (THERE WAS NO CHICKEN THE FIRST TIME) then the spanish lady wanted to catch an attitude. Like why pay $30 for two bowls and the portions are literally what I can feed a child. Don't work in a food place and have an attitude let alone act like y'all cant make more food. We placed a 13 person group delivery order and half the order was wrong, not even close. Labels with the order was right but contents wrong. Also all the food was cool, not even close to warm. The food smells so good. The place looks clean enough. The staff could not care less about you, your food, or whether your food is made well. There's almost no communication between staff and customer, and when folding a burrito it is folded into a small round ball. I'm asked for them to spread the fixings along the tortilla to enhance the burrito bites and she just topped them all on top of one another. Its not a burrito. It's literally a round ball that won't be able to eat normally. This is the second time this has happened. Further I'm getting more and more annoyed with "we can't make it unless you specifically order this item online." My daughter was not able to order food and we took everything home so she could make herself dinner. I love chipotle so so much, and for this to be chipotle in Hickory is a disgrace. read more

I honestly made an account just to write a review of this chipotle. Let me start by saying, I am very difficult to bother. This is something that actually infuriated me. This chipotle is disgusting and is the biggest disappointment I've ever experienced at a restaurant. I walk into this chipotle with a friend who has never had it. I love chipotle, the ones I've been to that actually give a ****. There was lettuce all over the floor, queso that looked like vomit by the bar stools at the front, and straw wrappers galore around the fountain drinks. My friend looked at me in shock, and I was actually EMBARRASSED I suggested this place. The girl who had one job which is to give me rice, steak and beans did great (regardless of the rice being half cooked?) but the next guy had a disgusting mess of a station. Spilled corn everywhere, watery sour cream and tomatoes to mix. Not to mention, they were FROZEN. The corn was absolutely frozen. It was a horrible bite of crunch rice and frozen corn mixed with hot steak. What a cluster **** of texture, let me tell you. My friend opted out of even trying the place, but I was so hungry and I can't observe if rice is undercooked or corn is frozen by the appearance. I grew up with a Chipotle, so this was a very sad and repetitive experience here considering they keep raising the price and hire 15yr olds. I have been to this location before without issue, however in my order today, both burrito bowls were incorrectly made. I returned the full order to the pick up window where I originally picked up my order so they could see for themselves. While the manager was polite, she questioned "what I meant" by the order being completely wrong. I answered that the sofritas burrito bowl was missing sofritas and the chicken burrito bowl was missing black beans and had sour cream and guacamole, which I did not ask for. She offered to re-make the order, but at that point we were tired of waiting since we had taken the order home and then driven back out to the location. To add to frustration, the manager could not issue a refund on site and I had to call customer service for the refund. I believe better customer service could have been provided. I have worked in restaurants and I have never questioned a customer who returned their order due to inaccuracy, it's an awkward enough interaction as is and I did not appreciate it. The girl working the register said they could only make an "adult" quesadilla if I pulled out my phone and ordered it online. I think my jaw actually hit the floor!! I settled for a kids quesadilla. Really disappointed in the food I purchased Saturday 9/30/23 in Hickory, NC. Food was ice cold. Asked for several different sauces in my bowl but my gosh one of them was so very spicy hot that the dish is inedible. Trust me, I like spicy food. Tacos cold, not a hint of warmness. usually have to peel them apart because of juices, no chance of sticking together tonight! Burrito Bowl ice cold also...can't even dip a chip in into it. Looking for something not fried or on a bun, I walked into Chipotle with a hearty hunger and excited to try a great burrito. Overall, I found this location to be clean, orderly and well-staffed. There was a little confusion over ordering, which may be due to the acoustics of the industrial themed restaurant. Be sure to get all the topping you'd like as they did not have lettuce for some reason at the end of the production area. Great for a quick dinner or hot lunch. read more

Turn over here for employees and portion consistency is terrible, but this experience takes the cake for me. We used to frequently visit this location (3x a week) to order food to go and this was the first time I have ever been charged for a side of sour cream and cheese that I like to put on my $10+ bowl because they are cold ingredients and I like to wait until I get home to add them to the warm rice and meat. I was told in a harsh voice "it's policy" which I have NEVER been charged for these before and I've never seen this woman working there before. Christian was the logged in host for the register. I have always thought a Chipotle to be at LEAST 4 stars. I am going othave to deduct a star from this one. Some of the other reviews bashed this Chipotle because they were comparing it to Mexican food. Comparing Chipotle to authentic Mexican food is as close as taco bell is to authentic Mexican food. Chipotle is Chipotle and it is by far my favorite fast food type joint. This location is particularly stingy with their portions. At first I assumed it to be contingent on who is serving but after coming here over and over again I am positive that they are reluctant to filling your plate. I do not know how many times I have to ask for more rice, more beans, more corn, etc. There is a picture below of a very unfilled burrito bowl. Food is standard Chipotle and tastes like any other chipotle. What irked me is that the girl whose sole job it is to roll burritos didn't even try to roll mine. By that I mean she half attempted to shove the edges into the sloppy roll. Poor technique. She never fully closed it, recognized that she had rolled it improperly, looked at it and shrugged and threw some foil on it like it was done. Don't remember her name but she had reddish-brown hair and glasses. My boyfriend had to re-roll it when we got home. It was definitely possible, and he had no trouble with it (even with no previous burrito rolling experience). The thing is that we paid for someone else to do it, and they didn't even try. I visit many Chipotle locations around the States during my travels and road work and have to give a positive review based on my lunch Thursday 8/13/20. I had both types of rice and they were both cooked well and seasoned perfectly, not too oily or salty. The staff got it right. Unfortunately, I have had many negative experiences at other Chipotle locations where they don't seem to be following the proper cooking and seasoning instructions. Unfortunately, most of the time you don't realize it until you leave and have to throw out your food. If it wasn't for my recent experience at this Chipotle, I would probably start looking for a different favorite go to fast food restaurant. If you are in to over priced, over spiced Mexican food then this is the place for you. It was definitely a place I will not revisit. The cilantro is overwhelming and some other unnamed spice I can't quite put my finger on. The chips were stale and the dipping sauce was tasteless. Employees need to pay attention to delivery drivers when they come to pick up the orders . I have went there 2 times to pick up orders . One time I stood there waiting on a order and finally when it was done one of the employees just put the order on the shelf instead of handing it to me and second time I went there I waited on an order for 20 minutes thinking that they was still working on it but it was on the other shelf at the drive thru . Orders are to be put on the shelf so that the delivery drivers wouldn't have to stand there and wait. Because our time gets wasted if we have to stand there more than 5 or 10 minutes read more

Worst Chipotle EVER!!! First off- I ordered. The people were RUDE and not friendly. I ordered chips and the lady didn't put them in the bag then rolled her eyes when i asked for them. So I asked for a little bit of cheese and the guy put 4 pieces of cheese so i ask for more and here i have a blanket of cheese(see pictures) so i get home, pull of the blanket of cheese and see about 12 pieces of chicken. We were excited to try this place since Chipotles in other locations seems to get great mentions on Twitter. We were so disappointed. The food was overpriced for what you get. Guacamole costs extra and so does chips & salsa. The chips are already packaged in a paper bag and they were awful..thick and stale. And our food was cold. We won't be going here again. "It is not my job" another person on the line stated a temperature adjustment that needed to be made and this was her response. Food at this location was so-so. It was during the final hours of Christmas shopping season, and the tail-end of lunch. Many bins were nearly empty, and quite honestly, my pork was refrigerator cold. They tried to excuse it as being on my bed of lettuce and under guacamole, but since I go there nearly weekly, I know better. They did make good customer service effort to make it right, but honestly, they had a large group of employees standing in the the front area "service" line (just standing), and only one guy in the back line, trying to cook, which helps explain the empty bins. read more

Great experience! Was excited to discover a Chipotle on my way to Asheville. My Mom and I decided to split a bowl which got complicated because I'm a vegetarian. The man behind the counter was so friendly and suggested we put the chicken on the side and even offered to split it for us. I was so impressed. They were very busy and he took the time to make sure everything was just the way we wanted it. My chips were also spot on with just the right amount of lime and salt.
