This Chipotle will ALWAYS hold a special place in my heart. My senior year at ND, I lived directly across the street (could see the entrance from my balcony... could also see the Dome, but that's besides the point). I feel like I came here once a week! Upon my return to campus 3 years later, I knew I had to come again. This Chipotle always delivers. I don't know if it's because the cheese and corn are that much fresher in the Midwest, but I haven't seemed to find a Chipotle better than this one, ever- in NYC and in FL. I always go for the veggie bowl with extra white rice, little bit of pinto beans, sour cream, cheese, guac, and lettuce. This place always gets my proportions right, unlike most of the locations in Manhattan, where I live. They also are doing a good job at social distancing and have many resources thought they location to support cleanliness and safety. I came in here at 10 didn't get served until 10:25 because of something wrong with their system. It finally gets to my turn and they're out of white rice. So waited 25 minutes for nothing and even though they are still open they weren't willing to make more rice. Either way when I got up there I noticed that there was almost barely any chicken, no sour cream barely any corn. This is unacceptable. They need more employees to manage the cooking, serving, and cleaning. These huge corporations are always trying to cut costs. The demand is especially high with this location given its proximity to a University campus. The line for carry out/to go orders is just as long as the dine in/order in store line. The trash is over flowing and the soda machine doesn't work. If I could give a 0 I would. I have been a big fan of Chipotle since the beginning. After today I am done with them. I opened the app and was greeted with a free queso upgrade. Cool! I made my order then was informed I didn't qualify for the upgrade. Hmm? I looked up the qualifications and they said the order had to be a $5 minimum. Have you ever eaten at Chipotle for under $5? My order was $12. I called to try to figure it out and was stuck for 10 agonizing minutes until I got connected to a human. If anyone cared less than she did I would be shocked. Orders refused to speak to DoorDash drivers just stared at me like I was dumb when I asked her if she knew when my order would be ready absolutely ridiculous. She deserves to be fired. I hope that her job is taken away from her. I hope that she has no way to feed her family after the way that she treated me today since she thought it was OK to disrespect me just because I'm a DoorDash driver and not even be able to speak to me since she wasn't even able to grace me with the presence of her words by telling me that my order would be another five minutes she deserves to be fired. Absolutely wild to say but, today's experience here was genuinely so horrible I think I'm retiring from chipotle after 7 years as a customer. What the genuine hell is going on with the portion control here? Employees act like the cost of meat is coming directly out their paycheck. Got a steak burrito that had a 1/4 of a scoop of steak. I asked the dude "is that it?" and all I got is a deadpan and "that's the steak". Bruh I know you are not calling the tablespoon you just put down an entree. Out of rice and two of the proteins, chips were so stale we couldn't eat them, store was completely dirty, and every employee was taking their sweet time to serve people. As a graduate student at ND, I LIVE on take out, and let's just say, I will NEVER go back here. Stood in line patiently waiting my turn to be served. Before I got the the front, one of the male employees started yelling at the female employee in front of everyone telling her she was scooping too large portions, when honestly, the portions seemed pretty in line with what I've gotten at other branches. When my order rolled around, I got a burrito. Literally watched as I got 1/2 scoop of rice and 11 cubes of chicken (I counted). When I asked why the half scoop, the guy looked over and said that's the portion. Now, I never finish my burrito as it is because I'm small (5'4" weighing around 125 lbs), but the fact that they charged me basically $9 for a burrito that I could have gotten from Taco Bell for $2 is RIDICULOUS! This is not the first time it has happened. In the past, I've let it go because I went it close to closing time and assumed the reason for the stingy portion was because it wouldn't make sense to cook a fresh batch of chicken. But today, I went at a reasonable dinner time and it was even worse than before. I will never go back, I'd much rather take my business elsewhere where the food I get is at least worth the hard earned money spent. read more

Used to come to this chipotle all the time. Their cleanliness has all but disappeared. The restaurant is in a truly sad state. They have little incentive to step it up because it's a chipotle next to a college campus and will still have patrons. It worth driving across town to a chipotle where they clean their food prep area, serving area and tables. They couldn't even properly fold my burrito so I may as well have gotten a bowl. So, saw all the bad reviews and was like, it's Chipotle, how bad could it be. Well, it's bad, but not for the same reasons. Yes, not the cleanest, but not the worst either. The biggest negative thing for me though is the service. Don't know if it's the line employees or the managers orders, but they focus ENTIRELY on mobile orders. This has to the worst chipotle experience ever! I've worked at chipotle and been plenty times as a costumer. The crew was amazing in what they could do being that they barely had anyone to work in the front. No manager in site and a line out the door with no lettuce no cheese no guac and I was told they had none left in stock which from experience I know is because the morning didn't prep enough! This is a high foot traffic er area due to the university. The flavor of the food was subpar. Steak dry and over cooked. Rice had no flavor no cilantro. The trash cans were over flowing on to the floor every table was dirty. The drink area was filled with trash no lids no straws no forks no spoons. I understand if you get a rush but at some point someone needs to be responsible for the lobby it's a big part of guest experience. Chipotle, what can go wrong? This place is disgusting. Every table is dirty. The place is not busy, as evidenced by the empty tables, yet no one can see to cleaning the tables. The kitchen looks like a greasy two-bit diner. Again, filthy and disorganized. Good all over tge counter. No chips - I was informed that the fryer was broken and they didn't want to pay triple time to get it fixed. I'd be embarrassed if I owned this restaurant. The food? Terrible customer service. We stopped in Sunday afternoon and were the only customers in the store. Three employee's were standing in a group talking, they all looked at us but didn't acknowledge us. Three-Five minutes went by. Still no acknowledgement. One person said, "I'm running the grill" and still didn't acknowledge us. Finally Adreionna helped us get our order, then set it aside to be rung up. By this time there was a line of people. When I called the store the next day to make the manager aware of the situation, I found out that she was the one who said she was "running the grill," yet there was nothing on the grill. In talking with Heartlyn (manager) she didn't seem to care about the issue, made excuses saying they had been busy and were short three people. I told her, after she offer a free meal, that we probably won't go back to that location and she said okay. She really didn't seem to care about the poor customer service. As a person who loves chipotle, this is one of the worst chipotles that I have been to. Since my freshman year at Notre Dame, this location has been steadily declining in quality. Portions were generous for a chipotle but the manager or assistant manager (white women with glasses and a ponytail) was 20 minutes late opening the store and then was f bombing loudly for everyone to hear and on the phone not helping get set up. After opening the locked door late it took another 7 minutes for someone to start helping the line. Super unprofessional management. I work across the street so I knew today was a busy day due to it being the weekend and having hockey I came at 7:10 and they told me they ran out of rice so it would be a while which I was okay with cause I had other things to do at work so I finished up and came back over and they told me it still wasn't ready which was okay I knew it was busy so I waited it was coming up on 9 which is two hours of waiting for one burrito so I asked the lady cause I hate to be like that cause I work on the street so I know and the lady was extremely nice about it but two hours for one burrito when people were walking in getting there food before me who ordered online I was just a little disappointed that my food took two hours when people were coming in and getting there food in 10/20 mins ... very nice employees but not put together at all tonight and I was not offered and refund or anything for me to come back after a bad experience read more

This is not a review of the restaurant but more like a statement. I'm currently a Chipotle employee at the Notre Dame location, and seeing all the reviews from people that visited our restaurant is sad and devasting. I do want to apologize to those who had a bad experience. Every staff member is supposed to check the dining room and the bathrooms to ensure that everything is there when you need it and that you can clean and sanitize tables for you to eat on. The managers don't care about their staff, and they overwork us to the point where we stopped caring. I know that it is not an excuse for our behavior towards our customers, and we do care about everyone that walks through our doors and about your food orders. But how are we supposed to stay working there if our leaders don't care about our mental health and help us when we need it? Most of all, our field leader doesn't do anything to help us; for instance, when we have an emergency or are severely behind on online orders, he will not shut the online system down to catch up. When we're short-staffed, we ask him to send people from other stores to come in and help us, and he never does and tells us that we need to figure it out on our own. Managers always call the employees on their days off to see if they could come into work a shift because someone called in sick or never showed up; this has happened to me on a few occasions. I always say no to them because I want to not think about work on my days off, and I need self-care day after a stressful shift the night before. Doordash delivery drivers treat the staff members like garbage, and they have no integrity of waiting for their order when we're a few minutes behind. Again, I sincerely apologize for the way we treat our customers and the way our restaurant looks. We're doing our best with what we have available to us, and we promise to do better in the future. read more

Most incompetent workers I've ever encountered in my life. I think the franchise owner needs to take a VERY serious look at his management and workers. Honestly this Chipotle location has become a laughing stock and butt of jokes amongst ND students. Major issues are an extremely disgusting and unsanitary dining area, routinely literally waiting hours for mobile orders, and a poor attitude amongst crew members. Having worked in food services it's undeniable this location simply does not go back to the basics from heaping piles of trash everywhere to extremely unorganized staff. Bottom line is without customers the Chipotle workers do not have a paycheck. Easily the worst Chipotle experience I've ever had. First time I ordered delivery the order was mysteriously canceled, without notice. Second time I ordered pick up, the order was an hour late, and all 5 items we ordered were wrong. The labels were all right, they just filled them all wrong. Including adding chicken to a Veggie Bowl, making a Carnitas Burrito into a bowl, having no chicken in a Chicken Bowl, omitting chips, two wrong drinks, and a HUGE glob of inedible pulp in the guacamole. Okay, I place an online order for half of my family and order in person cheese quesadillas for the other half (which are not on the online menu) when I show up they are closed inside and refuse to make a Point of sale order at the door. I always show up 10 minutes prior to my pickup time so I canceled the order before they made it. I was told to officially cancel my order to get my refund I need to use the online contact on their website. Their website is garbage for customer service it won't let me submit my contact form. To be clear I understand if you're not letting customers into the store but in certain situations there is zero reason why you shouldn't be able to take a point of sale at the door. This place is constantly a mess every time we've gone. Actually disgusting. Tables are never clean, floors are looking like there was a food fight. Lots of staff working, but who's working out in the restaurant area where people eat? I went to go grab a fork by the drink station and couldn't even believe that the forks were all sticky covered in juice from the juice/lemonade machines above with fruit flys swarming around the silverware. I asked the cashier for a wrapped to-go silverware, and she said that she didn't have any (which I find hard to believe) and gave me one that was unwrapped from below the register. It also seems like some of the people preparing the food don't really care much about how your food turns out either, a little rushed and not the best quality. Food quality-wise, this Chipotle is just like any other Chipotle. It's decent, somewhat expensive, and quac is still extra. The biggest issue this Chipotle has is the size of the lines. Oftentimes, the lines are almost out of the door, and the line moves very slowly. Speed is not a priority here and you can feel it when you're in line. You're better off going to any of the other nearby restaurants if you see a long line. read more

Really the only thing worth noting about this Chipotle is the location. It's within walking distance of campus which makes it a great option for students. Past that it's a Chipotle and has all of the normal assortment of goodies that a Chipotle should have. I've been several times and never had any complaints. read more
