I stopped in here on a whim as I was walking to another establishment. I am so glad I did!! The food was amazing! The staff is awesome! I had the Mucho Grande Burito and a Mudello Especial. Average price. I wasn't sure what to expect, the portion was huge. I needed to stop eating and take it to go, but it was so good I ate it all. I almost needed an Uber to drive me down the block back to the hotel I was so stuffed. Worth it! The carved booths and chairs added character to the atmosphere of Latin music. yum! Was staying downtown south bend and found this mexican spot. Menu is large with nearly every typical item you can think of. We started with queso fundido - i never had it before and had thought it would be a bowl of cheese dip with chorizo but it was more like a skillet of chorizo topped with melted cheese- not bad- not bad but wouldn't reorder. Staff and owner are absolutely wonderful came in on a slow weekday when they just opened so my review might be skewed. Food was solid have I had better Mexican yes but for the area some of the best Mexican I could find in South Bend! Good sized place - lots of seating. Quite a variety of Mexican fare and drinks. Service was inconsistent and slow. We got seated with a smile; but didn't get water for quite a while. There are separate rooms; two of three were in use. Food was solid - good guacamole - very filling - but not TOO much food. There were 4 of us and we got 4 different types of food - fajitas, tacos, a big burrito, and enchiladas - great choices. This restaurant vibe wasn't something I expected in a downtown area, but it fit the bill for what we were looking for, for dinner, and thus we visited! I'll start by saying - the reviews were intimidating! But - give it a try! The atmosphere is perfection for a homey-family owned feeling Mexican restaurant. The menu is large and organized well (by protein). I'm always nervous about the guacamole at Mexican restaurants, but it was fantastic - tasted fresh with great texture. Chips were also fresh and delicious. I ordered the Chimichangas - they were two smaller ones and I just about licked my plate, everything was delicious! Rice and beans were fantastic, great ground beef - I loved it all. I asked for a "medium" margarita, as there were so many sizes. What I received was enormous, but somehow only $8! The only small complaint is that service was inconsistent. A few requests weren't made, the food came extremely fast, but then we weren't checked on for quite a long time. This place is so yummy! The menu is huge, so it took a while to read through, and then actually decide what to have! I settled on a trio of enchiladas and my husband got pork tacos. Both were insanely delicious. The chips and salsa they serve when you sit is absolutely delicious as well. We highly recommend this place, and will be back next time we are in South Bend. read more

This was a first for me...service was a bit slow because it was busy, no problem. When the waiter came with my bill I had my card ready and he opened and closed the bill fold quick and proceeded to take my card to charge it. Even though he opened and closed it quick, I clearly saw the total, $64.93. When the waiter returned, the itemized bill was no longer in the fold and my card was charged $78.04. When I asked the waiter to see the itemized bill, he looked surprised and then disappeared to go find it. When he returned, it was not the original bill. The time stamp showed it had been printed AFTER the time stamp on my credit card transaction receipt. An appetizer had been added to this bill that we had not ordered. I pointed out the discrepancy and had the item removed brining the total back to $64.93. I eat out a lot because I travel for work regularly. There have been countless instances when I take a quick look just to move things along. This is the first time I have felt like a restaurant was purposely trying to overcharge me. Ruined what had been an ok meal to that point. I want to think it was an honest mistake but that is not how it appeared. If you eat at this restaurant, check your bill carefully. You never no what you might be paying for. Definitely will not be returning. read more

I've been here a couple times now and each experience has been great. The customer service was very attentive. The Mexican food is authentic and delicious! Tonight was a Ladies Night out. There were three of us. My friend and I shared a Margarita, the third person had an Iced Tea. We got the Guacamole Azteca to share amongst us. For dinner the three of us shared the Mixed Mocajete Volcanic bowl. As you can see from the photos and the sizzle in the video it was Fantastic food. Our bill was just over $40 which we split. Perfect Ladies Night meal and next door is Ollie's Bargains so we got a good start on Christmas gifts, and a little retail therapy. read more

We decided to try out this restaurant while we stayed out of town this weekend. We went in around 5 on a Saturday night. The service was horrible! We saw our server only 3 times, to get our drink order, food order, and the bill. We tried so many times to get other people's attention but never got anyone. Our drinks were awful like the syrup they put in the margaritas had gone bad. We had empty cups through the whole meal and never even got more chips and salsa. The food was just okay. I've ordered from here a few times and the food is pretty good. However today I ordered from there and they got the order wrong. I ordered a La Bandwro, it comes with three Enchilada, one chicken, one beef and one cheese, I got two. I specifically said I want ALL 3 to be cheese enchiladas. Like I said I only got two, one had chicken and the other had beef! I'm very disappointed because I love their food but only like Enchiladas with cheese. By the time I got home and saw their mistake I was too hungry to go back so, I ate the beef Enchilad and threw the chicken one away, I don't like chicken at all!! read more
