This, can you say fusion spot near Findley CreeK is serving Chinese and American style food and they are both delicious. Anyone in the area will tell you that chips and Dairy is a spot the frequently go to. Our favorites are the Shanghai noodles, fried rice and poutine. That's right. The poutine e is amazing g and you can add extra cheese or gravy. This is a must if you are in the area

From the name of the restaurant I really wasn't expecting Chinese food! I ordered the set menu for three. I found the food to be okay, I do wish the fried rice had more chicken and wish there was more variety in the menus for party dinners. My favorites were the garlic spare ribs and the almond guy ding. They also serve fries, poutine, burgers and milkshakes. So to get a full review I definitely have to go back to try more of the menu.

Chips and dairy is a mix of both Chinese food and chip truck style menu. For their Chinese menu, it is your typical take out Chinese menu. The flavor of their food is really good and they have one of the better General Taos chicken in the city. The egg rolls they serve are closed ended which aren't my favorite, but aren't bad. For their chips truck food, I have only really tried their poutine. Not because the food isn't any good, but because I am so addicted to the poutine that I don't want to try anything else. In my opinion, one of the best poutines in Ottawa.

Love these breaded shrimps.... was not greasy at all. Oh and the chocolate milkshake... AWESOME!

One of the best poutine I have had. I am here on business and this place was recommended to me. I barely ever give a 5 star... but the young girl up front taking orders was great. Very attentive and moved the line up along. After prepping the final touches of any take out orders... she made sure all continents are required. Great service and again... best poutine in town! Place serve Chinese food... burgers, fries and SHAKES... ice cream. Looks like a family ran business... and needs more locals and foodies to give this place a try. I plan to come again before heading back home.... more review to come

We stopped by here because my sister was craving ice cream, but we ended up ordering a poutine instead. I was surprised to find out they serve Chinese food too! Since it was our first time here we took a while to choose what we wanted, and when we finally settled I felt the person behind the counter was annoyed that we took so long. Anyways after our order was ready we were talking and we didn't hear it being called. When I did get the poutine from the guy, he wasn't really nice about it. They were pretty busy so maybe that's why he was annoyed, but I don't think that should be an excuse. The food: Poutine was fresh, and hot so had to wait a little to eat it. I thought the cheese was delicious, but did not like the gravy. The fries were average. Price: Paid $9.48, I thought it was way overpriced. Atmosphere: Diner, clean and neat. The three star review is for average poutine, and the fact that the service was not good.

Ice cream is to die for. And their poutine yum! Great value. The Chinese food is what you'd expect from a take out spot

The food is high quality - often locally sourced and organic. Dahl soup was tasty, with just a hint of heat from the spice. Chicken taco filling was tasty but... and I think this is where I'm struggling... I am realizing that I really don't like soft tacos. Something about the texture of the taco itself puts me off. I'm sitting here trying to decide if I'm being fair giving them a three because of my preference for taco shells. I guess what I'm saying is: take my review with a (proverbial) grain of salt. Would love to see a garbage can and recycling bin put out. Since they are located on the UOttawa campus during school year, plan to bus/walk to get there. (Parking is a pain during the week.) If you get off at Campus Station 2B, Sweetpea (the truck) is really close by. (Don't take my word for it though - things change, so make sure you check on that.) Staff was great. They have 2 tables and about 6 chairs for people who want to sit and eat for a bit. Would I return: Yes. I'd love to go again when it's not Taco Thursday, to try to get a different menu item. Would I recommend: Yup - if you like healthy choices that are locally sourced and organic, this is a great option.

TL;DR/The Short Version: Cute little place in Stittsville…read moreselling tasty soups and sandwiches. The Long Version: I had lunch at Wiches Cauldron recently and it was great. I got the Chicken Sandwich ($15.95). It was sliced real chicken breast meat, mozzarella cheese, mixed greens, cucumbers, picked onions and fig jam. It usually comes with mayo, but I asked them to omit it. All sandwiches come with a mini 4 oz soup. I chose the curried carrot and squash soup. The sandwich was delicious. The bread they use is a Kaiser and it's from Carp Bakery. It was soft and very fresh. I loved that the meat was real chicken and not deli meat. The fig jam was tasty and gave the sandwich a nice sweet taste. The soup was a bit watery, but was full of flavour. It had a strong curry flavour and the coconut milk in it made it a bit creamy. I enjoyed it. Funny story: I ordered the chicken sandwich. They ask your name for the order. The lady who ordered after me also got the chicken sandwich but she asked for no cheese. The cashier announced to the kitchen "no cheese on the chicken sandwich" and the kitchen asked "which order? Jennifer's?" And the cashier said "no, the next one, I haven't punched it in yet." Lol. I chimed in "I love cheese, I definitely want cheese on my sandwich!" The man in the kitchen said "alright, extra cheese for Jennifer!" And the lady after me said "yeah, you can have my cheese." Haha. So I got two slices of cheese in my sandwich. Score! Lol. Everyone working there was super nice and friendly. It's a small place, so the cash and the kitchen are right next to each other. I took my order to go, but there's seating to dine in. I noticed they have a small amount of branded merchandise, like baseball caps. There is free parking in their private parking lot at the back of the restaurant. Fun facts: The Wiches Cauldron started off as a food truck in the early/mid 2010s. Some time in the early 2020s they moved into their present location which was Red Gables Creperie before (it was also briefly Red Gables Ramen before they rebranded and started selling crepes instead of ramen). Off we went to Jonny Canucks since it was next door and the kids were starving and it was getting pretty late. I wish I looked at the menu beforehand because the adult meals were uninspiring if you have certain diet restrictions or trying to eat healthier. Not a whole lot for vegetarians unless you want some typical fried pub food/spinach dip. Typical Sysco chain pub food to be honest. The kids meal deal for 8.99 (drink, meal, dessert) drew a lot of families in that evening. That was good value. Service was friendly and to the point. I think our waiter was overworked and had too many tables to tend with. There was no check ins to make sure our food was good, but he did bring pop refills. No water refills and was forgetful at some of our requests. Again, I think the waiter had too much on his plate and was overworked. I do think this restaurant gets the pool over of clients trying to dine at Hunters Public House. We witnessed groups ahead of us trying to get seats at Hunters, who ended up over at Jonny Canucks. (Just an observation) Anyways on to the food. Hubby got the french onion soup, which I stole most of. It was the highlight of our meal. He also got chicken stir fry which he said he enjoyed. I got the cod fish tacos, which were small, uninspiring and something I could make at home. Kids got the pogo and chicken fingers which they enjoyed. Maybe a good place for cheap beers with friends to watch some sports? Other than that I cannot recommend to come here based on the food.
