Oh my God. Been struggling with horrible lower back, hip, thigh and shin pain. Dr Mo said he could fix it. But this time I thought I would need surgery. I kept doing what he said. Did my treatments twice a week, and my PT at home. He even sent me for an X-ray. It came back perfect ( because of all the decompression therapy we do, and I don't want to tell you my age.). Followed Dr. Maria Schafer to this practice and will be seeing her off and on when needed. Highly recommend Dr. Maria as I have seen her at two previous practices, but for the majority of the time at Spine and Joint Institute. She is an excellent chiropractor and manages to always fix the problem regardless of how in-depth it is to get to the root cause. I have also been seeing her for metabolic supplements to assist with weight loss and just general better health. Though I don't know any of the other doctors or professionals in this office, I did pick up a card for a massage therapist and I look forward to coming in for a massage when feasible, maybe in conjunction with a visit with Dr. Maria. Dr. Mo and his staff are wonderful! I've been going to see Dr. Mo for about 5 or so years now. I was referred to Dr. Mo after a car accident and he treated the whiplash I suffered. But what has kept me going back to see Dr. Mo for adjustments is his understanding of back issues like scoliosis. I've gone to see a couple other chiropractors in the area because I had moved further from his office. Was sooo anxious about seeing a chiropractor but it was the best decision ever! I pulled my back Friday morning, worse than usual. While right side of my back was swollen and I was crooked. I have a high tolerance for pain so just worked thru it Friday at work and continued thru the weekend. My wife was super concerned and urged me to see Dr Mo. she saw his video on Facebook and suggested we go. This morning I requested an appointment for late this evening and Arleene called and emailed me to come in. Office is GORGEOUS! Staff was so welcoming and Dr Mo has the sweetest smile! We took our kids with us and while we were in the room, he went out and said hi to them! After being on the TENS machine and being adjusted I felt amazing. I wasn't walking crooked and my pain was almost complete gone. He set my mind at ease and explained everything thoroughly. I would definitely recommend him to anyone whose in pain or for just a quick adjustment. What I love most is that he was super honest. I was initially introduced to Dr. Mo at a health fair at my job, and he was one of the only practitioners (amongst internal medicine, neurologists, and physical therapists) that was able to accurately identify the source of migraines, headaches, and tension that grew in my shoulders and back: poor posture and atrophy that was signaling problems in other areas of my body as it remained untreated. I went to him for a treatment period of a few weeks, the issues were resolved, and it was all good. Business wise, he runs an efficient, timely practice. The office space is aesthetically pleasing, the energy is very positive, he has supplements and some items available for purchase, and I have never had any disrespectful wait time (unlike a LOT of doctors that don't respect your time). There are limited office hours, but the hours are extended on those days and Dr. Mo and his staff are great at respecting everyone's ​time and having you in and out. It is child-friendly, when I was nursing there was no issue for the adjustment​ with my little one in tow when there was no one else to care for her. Over the years, if there is ANY issue related to spine, muscle, physical therapy, neurology, I immediately contact Dr. Mo for a consult. Dr. Mo has helped me recover from a year of bed rest due to a high-risk pregnancy, a personal auto injury where I was rear-eneded and had severe complications, carpel tunnel, headaches - etc -- He is truly gifted with a true passion for his work, he is knowledgeable and explains the process and procedure, ways to support therapy at home with excercises or recommendations for supplemental tools and nutrition suggsestions. I love that he takes a 360-view of health, considering all factors that are important for a healthy person. I went to see Dr. "Mo" with lower back pain exacerbated by a tight piriformis. No amount of stretching, yoga, or foam rolling was able to relieve my discomfort. After several days of discomfort and inability to sleep soundly, I sought out the most highly recommended chiropractor in Fairfax, who also happened to be my son's former football coach. I knew I'd be in good hands. Because my lower back was soooo tight, he placed several muscle stimulator (electrodes) as well as a heating pad on that area for 10 minutes to loosen up my muscles. After the adjustment, he applied a cooling muscle gel to alleviate any soreness. Dr. Mo assured me that I would sleep soundly that night, and I most definitely did!!! I plan to continue to see Dr. Mo in addition to his LMTs to assist me with my piriformis pain. He was able to provide me with some quick answers and treatment that was very helpful. He also informed me of something in my insurance plan that allows for orthodics and a pair of shoes with orthodics for a reduced rate. I had sharp pains in my lower back because I had injured myself while lifting weights. I came in not knowing what to expect since I have never gotten chiropractic work done before. I was greeted by a welcoming staff and quite a bit of people waiting in line. (Which wasn't a bad thing, since it means that Dr.Mo is doing a great job) The wait was not long at all. I filled out my applications and they guided me into one of the many offices. The front desk and office was very neat and tidy. Dr. Mo was very friendly and was very attentive in listening to how my injury was caused. He also explained to me exactly what he was going to be doing and why. He reassured that everything was going to be fine and that he was going to take care of me. He readjusted me a couple times and applied an electrical pulse therapy for about 10 minutes in which afterwards he applied a hot and cooling cream. I left quite relaxed and most of the pain had eased away. Within several days, the pain was gone. I went back in for an evaluation and it was just a repeat of what I experienced above minus all of the adjustments. All in all the staff and Dr.Mo are exceptional at what they do.
