Auto accident? Find another place. Had about $9000 in treatments paid to them directly from my personal injury protection insurance. They were charging between $280 and $330 per visit. For five minute session. Now that my settlement is wrapping up, they have put their hands in my disbursement from insurance companies. I have to pay them $66 out of my settlement for medical records and some Biofreeze crap that was pushed on. I guess the $9000 they got insurance company wasn't enough. They nickel and take it out of myHonestly, my back did not get any better until I stopped going to treatment from Chiropractic Northwest. Office staff knew my name by the second visit. I threw my back out. Immediately drove to the chiro and they saw me right away. Provided some much needed pain relief and info on how to work with it. Three more visits the next three days and my back felt so much better. Normally it will be a week or more when I try it on my own. My daughter tweaked her neck at school sports and called me balling because it hurt so bad. I immediately picked her up and drove her to the office. They worked with her gently, and talked through everything they were going to do. After two visits her neck was still stiff but was not in pain. She was able to go to her track meet three days later and got a personal record on her javelin throw! I've been going here for close to 4 years now, and I love this place. I used to use a different chiropractor, but felt like my old chiropractor was in it for the money. He was always trying to sell me products, insisting I come every single day, etc. Chiropractic Northwest is different though. I go in for regular adjustments, and they helped me tremendously after I was in a really bad car wreck. Dr. Mulcahey is a great guy, and is easy to talk to about any issues you are having. If I could give this place 0 stars I definitely would. I have never been more upset and disappointed with customer service staff EVER. Let me just start out by saying they have the rudest lazy staff there. My husband was really excited to finally have an appointment to see a chiropractor and the moment he walked in he was given the side eye. Not one smile not one hello. It was very clear he was already being discriminated against since my husband is a Mexican man. I had my husbands new patient paperwork and was 3 min away. While I got there with the paperwork my husband started to try and give them his insurance and ID. My husbands been working for the same company for years so his insurance card is definitely faded out. So his ID number on the card was a little faded out but his name, group number and all other information was visible on the card.My husband was denied service INSTANTLY. My husband said he knew his insurance ID and could provide that for them. They declined to even write down the number. And said they needed to take a copy of the card for "proof" that it was actually him. he offered to bring a card the next day or a paper copy the next day. He was still denied. My husband offered to give them other forms of ID and they responded with "they couldn't take his word for it". He was discriminated against for them thinking this man of color was falsifying his OWN identity, after offering several other forms of identification and also THE ACTUAL INSURANCE ID NUMBER! rushed in with my daughter to hand my husband his new patient paperwork and they didn't even bother to look at it. I was given the side eye and could feel that my family and I were being frowned upon because we were a family of color. As he handed them his new patient paperwork they said that he didn't fill out the insurance portion right and he would need to call and figure out all these crazy questions about insurance coverage. Mind you it was 4:30 and the staff there could have called and confirmed coverage, as insurance verification places close at 5. It was 4:30! As a medical professional, who works in a medical office this is beyond obscure to me, it is our job to get all the insurance taken care or and squared away so that before a patients appointment everything is set and ready to go. It's beyond mind blowing that they are not capable of taking care of their patients and are having them do extra work so they don't have to. I as a medical professional know what patient care is and having your patients jump through hoops to find out coverages is lazy work ethic and poor office structure. I While my husband was trying to figure out what was going on and why he was being denied an appointment, 2 white women entered the building and were greeted very kindly and told to sit down. My husband was not once greeted with a smile or offered to sit down while he waited. It's very clear and shows why was denied an appointment, after him offering multiple solutions. It was due to the color of his skin and appearance. He was discriminated against for being a Mexican man. Here's why I don't know.....I called the office to make an appointment and the lady tells me that I need to go to their website and print miscellaneous forms for a new patient and then print the insurance verification form, call my insurance company and etc! My insurance is through untied health care and they pay for chiropractic care. My representative called and spoke to Crystal who runs the office to verify everything and make sure they would not try to charge me. The only thing that came up was the payment for the X-rays wasn't covered, but Crystal agreed that if my doctors office did them (Crystal gave me specifics and what to say to radiology to make sure scans would be correct) that they would accept and NOT charge me. This took some time to get cleared with u it's and doctors office, but was done bc I have major issue in my C7/T1. So I go to appointment today not a hello from the front desk lady or anything.. she asked if I had paperwork I said no so she grabs a clip board ( new client paperwork), then she says insurance card plz, as soon as she saw it the front desk lady became very rude and says yeah, no this insurance won't cover chiropractic. I explained they do and my insurance had already spoke with Crystal. Front desk lady goes to Crystal and talks for a few minutes they both come back with judgement and attitudes saying I will need to pay $270 upfront.. when I explained we had already talked etc brought up that she agreed to the doctor doing X-rays etc she says this is for the exam, I said the exam? I said ma'am my insurance spoke with you explained everything is covered all you needed were X-rays, that we had spoken and she had given me specific instructions (Crystal said nothing at all except that I would need to pay $270) I then asked why would you make me go through all these hoops knowing that my insurance will cover the visits all but the X-rays agree to everything not once but 3x to make sure we were all good to go and now you are doing this? Crystal then tells me I have to leave their office can you believe that?!? I said who is In charge of this business? Crystal says I'm in charge I said who is your boss, to which they rattled off a Dr's name. I said may I speak with him, they laughed and rudely said he was not in today.. then she escorted me out!! Do NOT GO HERE!! I've been seeing Dr. Mulcahey for about 2 years now. Over that time I have been getting chiropractic care and routine massages at Chiropractic Northwest. The front desk medical assistant, Debrah, is very polite and welcoming to everyone who comes in each time. The line often looks long when there are 5-7 patients in the waiting room but I have not been there longer than 20 minutes at the worst of times. The system is very efficient in how it runs. Additionally Dr. Mulcahey is the only chiropractor I know that has offered to work on ankles. I really recommend seeing him and everyone at the clinic. They're all great people there who will do everything they can to help you get better. read more

Outrageous bills. Overcharging. Gray areas. Stay away. Will not accept other facilities x rays so they can charge you more money! Any time they talk to you they will charge you an office visit fee. Please choose a business to spend your hard earned money at that won't steal it. They said they accept my insurance but when I got a massage, I got an $80 bill a week later. Would like to edit last review from 1 to 3 stars. This place is unlike other clinics: They ask you to do all your benefits research which shifts the liability off of them and onto you. I am uncomfortable with this. Fees are not transparent (medical field issue) so when you get a bill it is likely to get sticker shock first visit. Darrin is kind and welcoming. This clinic is expensive/ above the average cost, so do all your research ahead of time. I was charged $80 for a massage supposed to be $8. After that, Darrin created a payment plan but did not do anything to fix the issue. He did give me a referral to other massage clinics to help me save money. I appreciate that. The billing department explained my bills after the fact. Please note this clinic does not have traction or massage tables typical of other chiropractic clinics I have been to. Office staff are kind and welcoming. Sometimes they take me back late for scheduled appointments. All in all with my chiropractic experience of 5 clinics spanning snohomish, pierce and king counties, I rate this clinic as average. They keep my back feeling . So on this fact alone, I would rate them 8/10. For my case I need it in conjunction with massage and acupuncture. Chiro alone is not enough relief for me. I didn't know how bad I was until I feel this good. I was crooked and shuffling my feet and trying to get use to the new norm. Dr Mulcahey and his team are straightening me up (no pun intended). Really, I remembered and lived the old 'snap, crackle, pop' of treatment but Northwest Chiropractic and Massage utilize instrumentation and prescribe tissue treatment for my needs to work the 'kinks out' to restore and improving my quality of living. I am in a profession that requires me to lift cases of wine (tough job, I know) and every now and then I strain or hurt myself. Dr. Mulcahey helps me get back to being healthy.
