Threw out my sciatic this past weekend & every chiropractor around me was fully booked including my current, some noting 1-2 weeks out for new patients. This was our first time visiting. My mom and I were in a car accident, so we came here because it was recommended by a friend. Rather than fully finishing her previous patient, they called us in to the room because this way, they can charge us the $100 per person for the first visit. We only went through our symptoms and the car accident. Then the doctor told us to sit and wait inside the patient room while she went to another patient. We left because it just felt like an assembly line in a factory, rather than focusing on one patient at a time. We didn't get our reflexes checked or anything, just filled out paperwork. They are still going to charge us the $100 each. Then the doctor said this is how it's done everywhere, but that's never happened to me before, ever. The rooms don't even have doors for privacy. Staff were friendly, but they need to put in more effort to make each patient feel like they've got the doctor's undivided attention by not jumping back and forth, just so they can charge the doctor visit. Dr. Kerschner is one of the most thorough and knowledgeable medical professionals I have met, and I am someone who pursues medical care. After having had the same (great) chiropractor in Everett for ten years- I moved down to South Hill and had to change. Not wanting to overthink it, I chose Berry Family Chiropractic because the last place I went to was _______ Family Chiropractic. I was put on Dr. Kerschner's schedule, which I figured was how the fates were supposed to align. I immediately adored Dr. Kerschner. She's friendly, really intelligent, has a passion for the work that she does, caring, kind, and has thorough knowledge about her discipline. She's a former EMT (and gymnast- which is awesome because I was a gymnast too and I can tell she really understands the active body) and I have no doubt she was a great one. She has always approached my care with confidence and a "we got this" attitude. She provides a thorough adjustment and checks in with me to see if there are any other areas I'd like to have more attention. I leave feeling more upright, less stressed, and happy because I was in such great hands and got to spend time with someone I enjoy. She even gives me stretches to use throughout the day to relieve tension and improve my condition. She's just such a ray of sunshine. I have only seen Dr. Berry once but he seems like a lovely man and also gave me a thorough adjustment. I brought my daughter in because her foot had a slight turn-out. Within a few visits, Dr. Kerschner had her foot in more of a normal position. If you are considering Chiropractic care and haven't tried it yet- I highly recommend it. It's magical. It can help with a myriad of things that aren't aches, pains, and misalignments. I will be doing it a great disservice if I start to list them, but YES- they can also help your sinuses, as well as help you with poor sleep, they can adjust your dog (I'm serious) or your horse, headaches etc. Sometimes when I bring up some random thing it helps Dr. K see other connections I didn't think of. The massage I had was great, but when the masseuse casually asked "would you like a heating pad?" what she didn't say was "for $55 extra". When I called about the "hot/cold therapy" charge (eyeroll), they said "that was a medical decision made by the masseuse". No, it wasn't, it was an upsell without my consent. They refused to refund it, and refused to notate my account that they didn't have consent to add additional fees without me being told of them beforehand. Super shady. Chiropractically, the care's been good, but every time I go in my appointment is shorter and shorter. The last time, the doctor just popped in, pushed here and there, and swooped off for her next patient. It seems they go off of "how do you FEEL" to determine if you need adjusting. Thing is, pain alone is just one dimension of chiropractic care. I think I'm going to look for a more involved and "let me see how your joints are doing" doctor. read more

I'm not just saying this, but I would give Berry Family Chiropractic 6 stars if I could. I'm an Army veteran with combat injuries to my back, and deal with chronic and acute pain all over my neck and back. I've been to 3 different chiropractic offices in the Puget Sound, and none have really been a stand out experience to me until now. I've now seen Dr. Berry, Dr. Kerschner, and all 3 dedicated massage therapists that work out of that office, and I have yet to have an experience that wasn't stand out. From the front and back end staff to the licensed professionals, these are all deeply passionate professionals. With both chiropractors, on day one I left feeling like they had been adjusting me for years. Super super impressive. I can say with confidence I never had that feeling anywhere else. Late May 2012 I injured my back. I suffered with the severe pain for over 3 weeks. I had tried rest, ice, heat, both OTC and RX painkillers. Nothing was working. I checked through some comments on a Facebook group page, and came upon a referral for Berry Family Chiropractic. I looked in the local phone book and discovered that their office was a little over 1 mile away. I called to make an appointment and took the first one available for that day. I explained that I am not covered by insurance, and asked if they had a discounted fee for cash paying patients. Yes they do! Berry Family Chiropractic is on the corner of 187th & Meridian, in a fairly new shopping center. Their office building is tucked in behind a car wash and Pizza Hut. The office is new, has state-of-the art equipment and a relaxing feel to it when you enter. I chose Berry Family Chiropractic pretty much because my injury was "mechanical". Also the office visits were so much less expensive than my Primary Care Physician. My PCP would've wanted to run MRIs, Ultra-sounds, and possibly added steroid injections to my spine. This would have been a very expensive path, so I chose to at least give Chiropractic a try. Upon my first visit I could hardly sit for more than a few minutes, barely able to walk, and forget lying down to sleep, the muscle spasms were excruciating. In about 3 visits, I was able to sit, walking was much easier, and sleeping in bed was getting easier to do. After about 3 weeks since my first visit I can now enjoy doing almost everything I did before. Dr. Berry has a wonderful chair side manner. He listens to my concerns, and is able to pinpoint exactly where adjustments are needed, and explains exactly what he is doing. His office staff is caring and friendly. The rates that are charged for non-insured patients are very reasonable. I understand that Berry Family Chiropractic has discounts for active duty military or retired. I am very pleased and grateful for the results in my treatment. I highly recommend Dr. Berry and his staff. read more
