I was seeking treatment after a motor vehicle accident, and I couldn't have been happier with my choice to go to Northwest Wellness. Not only was the staff incredible, but it was nice to have one place where I could receive chiropractic, physical therapy & massage therapy (and other medical services). It was so easy to communicate with their front desk staff (Spencer, Jazmin, & Lane are amazing!) and everyone there was very accommodating since I had to bring my toddler with me to my treatments. Dr. Nichols & Dr. Burt provided excellent chiropractic treatments and communicated thoroughly with me through my treatment and progress. Dr. Herron, Leo & Ashlyn from the Physical Therapy team helped me understand my body and taught me the tools needed to help further my progress towards getting better that I can utilize in my everyday life. NW Wellness is the best! I came here after an auto accident that resulted in whiplash. Both Dr. Nichols and Dr. Anderson gave amazing adjustments and I was impressed with the massage therapists there as well. The physical therapist, Dr. Rachel Herron has the be my favorite member of my care team though. I tried physical therapy in the past at HMC for a back injury and I just didn't notice much relief but working with Dr. Herron was much different. She didn't push me on days I was too tired, she didn't judge or shame me for how little I did the work out on my own at home. She provided me with a very gentle routine that really helped me recover from my car accident and even gave me much needed relief from my old back injury. Before her, my lower back was in pain 24/7 for over 3 years. It still acts up at times but I know the movements to help support my back and alleviate the pain at home. I'm surprised I haven't written a review for this place yet. I used to go to a chiro near this clinic but now this is the one and only place I will go. I'm 26 and have been blessed with a genetic lower back/hip issue. Occasionally I have hurt myself causing excruciating pain in my low back and hips which radiates down the back of my leg(s). On a Friday night, this happened. I was in so much pain I was crying. I could not stand upright or do basic tasks without extreme pain. My Chiro was closed weekends so I desperately called NW Wellness on an Saturday AM hoping for help. They said come on in, and I have never gone back to my old place. For $40 a visit I have been a repeat customer for nearly a year. I walk in hunched over, walking slow and wincing, and walk out upright, smiling, with a spring in my step. I normally make appointments but they have seen me on emergency occasions before. Quick service, everyone is super friendly, and this place is less expensive than my past 2 clinics. read more

I just received the most wonderful massage from Jennifer. I was experiencing a lot of back pain and she knew just what to do help me feel better. Mindy at the front desk was also really nice. I used my debit card to pay, and for some reason it didn't allow me to leave a tip. I didn't have any cash on me and was embarrassed, but she didn't make me feel guilty or weird about it. I purchased a Groupon for 1 consultation and 3 visits for acupuncture. When I went there, the consultation was literally 10 mins asking me what my complaints are and no actual examination. The first session, Andrew spent around 10 minutes on the putting the needles in and then the rest 40-45 mins he left me to work on another patient. Same thing happened the second session. He spent 10 minutes and promised to come back after 10 mins to continue the work. Yes, you guessed it. Instead of 10, he came back after 45. And my third session did not even happen because there was a misunderstanding with the booking and the receptionist (who was very unwelcoming and you could see on her face how much she dislikes her job) told me that my last session with the Groupon deal will be used even if I missed the session. Needless to say, I will never return to this place. P.S. My wrist paint got relieved for a few hours and then it was full on back. My forearm actually started aching more after the sessions. read more

Anna that handles billing charged my BF's insurance $148 for a 60 minute massage because she was "allowed to" insurance didn't cover it so we got the bill which is no problem. For $70, when I was asked why it says we're given a "discount" When $70 is the normal rate anyways she said she over charged insurance because she's allowed to do it. Started laughing at me and when I asked why she was laughing she said she had a cough and laughed again. read more

I have been going here for several years, and I never had a problem with them until these past few months. I just received my THIRD $15 "late fee" since December and I am not happy. I pay my bill the DAY I receive it in the mail, and they've charged me a late fee the last three times! I don't know if this is some kind of scheme they've come up with to get more money from people or what, but I don't think that I will be using their services again. read more

I was sent to collections by mistake . Due to a turn over with there billing person that was not doing their job I called Northwest Wellness and spoke to Dawn who listened, and pulled the bill out of collections . Which came off my credit . She then spoke to the doctor and explained what happen. She emailed me the very next day and worked out a affordable plan with me so that my credit would not be affected . I was a upset customer and she turned me back happy . She will work with you if you give her a chance collections is the last thing they want to do . Purchased two groupons, called to ask questions, a very cranky and unkind person 'dealt' with me on the phone, was not willing to help me nor did she offer to book me an appointment or tell me why this was a good place to go to. Dr. Nichols is the best chiropractor I know, and I have been to 25 different chiropractors in 3 states and over 40 years. Warm, friendly, smart, really into healing you. Cumulative damage from sports injuries and martial arts were capped with two fractured vertebrae from surfing. There are roughly two types of chiropractors as far as I can tell. Manual adjustment chiropractors use their hands and/or a drop table to pop your vertebrae and activator chiropractors who use a small painless spring loaded piston to move your vertebrae into alignment. Dr. Nichols is an activator chiropractor. That's what I recommend, first and foremost it is gentler than manual adjustments. I was told I needed fusion surgery on my spine. We waited until the cracked vertebrae healed, and then Dr. Nichols gently and slowly moved them back into position. I no longer need the surgery. Dr. Nichols is the only chiropractor I have met who does not have a preprogrammed sales pitch to come in twice a week for the rest of your life. Its very much "let's get you fixed and then come for tune ups as needed". Dr. Nichols is the only chiropractor I have met who does not apply a one size fits all treatment program, its more "tell me about what's going on, and then she figures out how to treat it". She actually looks at you and listens, unlike most of the other chiropractors I have seen. There is no "foot halfway out the door syndrome". Dr. Nichols is genuinely and thoroughly focused with making your life better. Unlike the other poster, I have never had an appointment messed up by the front staff while coming here for the last 10 years. Sara the receptionist is excellent. I have seen a lot of the chiropractors in Kent, Federal Way and Des Moines. In my opinion Dr. Nichols is the finest chiropractor out there. read more

I was here for about 2 months, 3 visits a week. 2 for chiro, one for massage. I have been suffering from chronic neck pain and headaches, and a recent xray showed a curvature in my neck. Massage was recommended only by my primary, but I got talked into chiro as well during my consult. The chiropractors there were fine and seemed knowledgeable, but I didn't see many improvements or benefits. The massage therapist was great, I saw MJ, but the relief only lasted about an hour afterwards. All in all I have absolutely no problem with the service provided but I opted to stop due to no progress and the high cost of co-pays adding up. My main issue is with their biller. She billed multiple times duplicate claims for outrageous amounts (4500.00, 40000.00)., likely these were miskeys of some type but pretty unacceptable as a biller. second, I had questions regarding how much they were billing me for. the front desk never requested any co-pays upfront, either from myself or the other patients I saw come in. although I understand the copay is my responsibility, the majority of other providers out there ask for and collect at the time of check in. I emailed the biller who sent a short and somewhat rude response basically saying I didn't know how they were billing and I am liable for a copay for each visit. I work in health insurance, for over 7 years, and yes I understand this. I then requested a new itemized bill, in which she HAND WROTE that I am liable for co-pays and what she calculated is basically what I owe. I then contacted my insurance and checked my eob"s. my insurance confirmed what I knew, and they left a massage for the biller. I sent payment in full for what I actually owed, with a typed out letter stating as such. I then received another letter, this time typed, basically saying the exact same info and that a date of service had been missed and I still owed 25.00. I then received a formal bill showing my balance as 24.92. I have never had this many issues with medical billing in my entire life. She was unprofessional for most of it, and didn't seem to understand what I was telling her or really how to bill. I suggested the front office might try to collect co-pays from all their patients so there is not this issue later on. Yet all she could focus on was that I did have a copay. yes, I know my benefits and I know I have a copay. I found the experience with the biller ruined my overall impression of the clinic. in addition, if you go here, do not let yourself get talked into so many visits if you don't think you need it or can afford it. they basically had me doing exercises I did at home anyway, but with an added quick adjustment. read more
