A couple of months ago I was a few years out without an adjustment and hurting and aching. Dr. J and Dr. Todd were highly recommended to me by a friend and I'm so glad I went. I left my very first visit feeling like I was "walking on sunshine"! I even sang that song as I left ha ha ha. They also do adjustment types I've never had done before like my shoulder joints, ears, fingers, and sinuses were needed. I tried four different, well-reviewed doctors and none of them were able to reliably get my low back stabilized. So I gave up for about 2 years. But I was finally in so much pain, I decided to try again, and I'm so glad I did! I found Dr. J at Swendsen Chiro. The very first adjustment freed things up so much I felt a wash of cool tingles all the way down my leg (release of pressure on the nerve) and a total absence of the chronic pain I'd had since I moved here. Not surprisingly given my issues, it's taken about 2 months to start to feel stable again, but each adjustment gives me relief, and helps me go a little longer between visits. For the past week my back has been better than I can remember for a long time. I've also seen Dr. Todd once when Dr. J wasn't in, and he was also very good! The atmosphere is upbeat and friendly. I'm a cash-pay client and the cost is very reasonable. The staff are wonderful and caring. I've had a few massages with their team and liked them! The doctors, as in the chiropractors seem very good and efficient. And very thorough with their assessments and treatments. The massage therapist I've had there have been good as well. But the front staff is just horrid. They have no people skills. They hardly look at you when they talk. It's like they have trouble reading their own computer. They can never remember to charge me the appropriate amount when they're supposed to even though I keep a card on file with them every time. And they've gotten stuff wrong on my insurance multiple times. But the top of it is I call and make an appointment with them and they tell me only early appointment 7 AM are available and I show up and then they say oh you're not even booked sorry. I've been a patient of Swendsen Chiro for a few years now and still love coming here. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Dr. Todd and Dr. J work with you on a personal healthcare plan to improve your symptoms and treat each patient differently. They are not your typical chiro who pops you and says you're good to go. They will cater to your symptoms and make adjustments where needed. Check in process: check in with your card and then answer questions about your symptoms. Time waiting: Although this clinic is terrific and the care is great, I have found myself waiting anywhere from 15-30 mins after my scheduled apt time to get my chiro adjustments due to patient volume. So do plan some extra time waiting, but it's worth it! The office does play movies regularly to keep you entertained. Chiro: Both Dr. J and Dr. Todd are great! They have great personalities and techniques. Like I mentioned earlier, they will cater to your symptoms and make a plan specific for your needs. They will spend about 5-7 minutes with your adjustments. Massage: This clinic also offers massage services. They have a few staff members that offer massage services, I recommend Jocelyn if your insurance takes accepts her and can get into her apt books. I definitely recommend this clinic. Accumulative stress and neglect eventually found myself hobbling in with a cane. Muscle spasms centered behind my left knee kept me from putting pressure on my foot for a week before I could even "think" to make an appt. because of the pain. But Dr T (Todd) and Dr J (Justin) got their turns working out the misalignments over a 12 wk period 3X a week. Now I'm on maintenance care (1x monthly) . (Physical Therapy 3X wk/10 wks got me started with self care) Researching online what my part is I've learned the complexity of our body, muscles that work together and must be strengthened if I want mobility. I must say, it got from my Head to my Heart. There are dozens of movements/exercises that can be done on the "Bed" and in a "Chair"! And increased walking has its own rewards! Hello, I usually don't write reviews much, as you'll see, but I was so impressed with this Clinic that I felt honored to write about my experiences there. I have been to many Chiropractors, Massage Therapist, Acupuncturists, Soft Touch, you name it and in many countries. Well, I am sold on the Swendsen Clinic. I really paid attention to their focus and compassion in what they do and the pride they have in restoring my everyday physical activities and with less pain. I also watched their concentration while working on me as well as others and was very impressed with their in depth analysis of our pain and the best way to get our way of life back. The Clinic can't run without a Staff and this Staff is totally awesome! Extremely helpful, friendly and on point with insurance issues. The great thing with me is the government just recently allowed us military to be seen by them and some other Clinics as well so they are already well versed for us military folk. The biggest thing I like about the Swendsens is they don't just go through the motions. They study you, figure out the best solution for YOUR situation and do one heck of a job in obtaining their goal and having you leave better and with so much less pain and discomfort. I had such severe lower back pain that I couldn't stand up straight or walk unless I was bent over looking at the ground. The pain was so intense that I thought I'd never recover. Dr. T and Dr J had me standing up straight and walking without pain in 3 visits . They thought I'd need surgery. I wanted to wait a week or so before I reviewed this place. I made an 8:15 appointment, which is rather early for me (I get off work at 10:30 pm in Seattle). I had made a few mistakes and scribbled on my patient form and instead of making me re-do the entire thing, the receptionist rewrote everything over for me and just had be review it. I have never had that happened before, shows they really like things to be neat. My first appt was very thorough. It was almost 2 hours but I felt like they cared and wanted to get down to what was causing my pain. Some history: I was 28 weeks pregnant and my hips were killing me. Every night when I crawled into bed I couldn't get out unless I was helped out. I could barely walk some days. After Dr.Justin saw me and adjusted me OH MY GOSH! It was the first time in my pregnancy that I was able to get into bed and get up when I needed to pee without any pain! They were very careful and caring that I was pregnant and didn't want to have any harm towards my unborn son. It's been over a week since I had my first visit and I still feel amazing! So here's my story... 12 days ago I started having pain in my left shoulder, neck and head. Nothing I took would make the pain stop. They listen, act on what I may complain about AND are able to have a conversation about things focusing away from my pain. This is easily the best chiropractic experience I've ever had. I came here a number of years ago when the practice was under different ownership and was not impressed. I'd heard good things from my mother (who had recently become a patient) when it switched hands and decided to come back and give it another shot- so glad that I did! I had a car accident that required many surgeries and years of physical therapy. By the end my back was still hurting and I had accepted that, any time I did any extra activity, as simple as vacuuming the house, or lift a little weight I would have to deal with a week long of heating pad, pain relief medication, cremes etc. I brought my daughter to the clinic for her upper back pain and decided to give it a shot on a treatment for myself. I was gonna have to bring her anyway. They took xray of my back and sure enough, it was a mess. I begin treatment and in 2-3 months I was completely pain free. Today I am back on doing gardening, working with shovel, spending hours planting and I can even bring heavy groceries back inside. I am very thankful for coming to this clinic. When I moved to this area from Hawaii in January of this year I wasn't sure what to do about finding a new chiropractor because my chiropractor back home is amazing. I searched around and found Swendson Chiropractic and man o man I'm so glad that I found them. Dr J & Dr Todd are brothers who are absolutely outstanding doctors! Their knowledge & professionalism on how they run their practice is incredible. I used to work in the industry and have never met chiropractors quite like them. From my first experience with the front desk then with the two Dr's I knew I had found my new home with for my chiropractic care for many years to come. When I arrived at this beautiful glass building they are located in I was impressed with the ascetics. Since the front parking lot was full I quickly found parking around the back. They are located on the 2nd floor to the right at the end of the hall. The door to the left is their massage therapy department and to the right is the lobby & the checkin counter. One of the girls at a the check in desk helped me fill out all my paperwork, since I have MS with cognitive problems. She was super friendly and very patient. Soon after my paperwork was filled out I was taken to a room where I met Dr J and went through a full examination. I really felt like he cared about what I had to say, it was wonderful. After my examination & X-rays (which are actually read by a radiologist) Dr J adjusted my Atlas (the upper part of my neck) I actually started to feel less pain. Dr J led me to a room with 2 lay down flat tables that have a roller that rolls back forth down your spine. I laid down on one of the tables as Dr J started the machine. I got to lay their for 10 min and experience total relaxation. It was pure bliss! ahhhhhhhhh.... lol. When I finished on the table the front desk scheduled my next appointment (for the next day) to come in for the reading of my X-rays and to receive my first full adjustment. Once finished with my consultation, the small adjustment to my neck and a roller on my back for 10 minutes I walked out of there feeling wonderful!!! If you or your child suffer from TICS...I highly recommend treatment here! We started coming for my son, age 9. He had horrible neck pain from TICS... (his being neck muscles that involuntarily have repetitive jerking motions which he had no control over). Tics can be a nervous tic or your nervous system is going haywire. Either or, being adjusted from a chiropractor can help align everything to either eliminate or reduce the intensity in my opinion as well as relieving any stress that can intensify them. For 4 years he has struggled with this. After coming for two months once a week.....my son has no known tics. It is such a relief to see him be a normal kiddo. I must say that I'm super impressed with the two Bergstrom brothers working at this clinic. I am usually pretty hesitant about chiropractors but their professional manor and in-depth examinations really set me at ease. I first worked with Dr Justin and was treated for spinal impingement in my neck that he was able to correct after only a couple visits. I had a reoccurrence a few months later after a bad fall and was unable to turn my head. Dr Todd was able to fit me in that same day and treat me. He realigned my neck and my pain was gone. I met with him for a followup the next week and he gave me some exercises and stretches to do so that I would not be so susceptible to this same thing again. They not only give you immediate relief from your pain but they also will show you how to stay healthy going forward as well. I have to tell you about the Best Chiropractor I know in Downtown Seattle. He is possibly the best chiropractor in all of seattle and other surrounding cities of Washington. I have been getting adjusted by Dr. Bergstrom for over six years now and I always feel improvement after I see him. He has adjusted me for back pain, neck pain, headaches, shoulder pain, and even when I fractured a rib he provided support and helped manage my case. I happen to know he is a huge personality and is just fun to be around. He Absolutely brings energy into your day each time you are around him. I also know he treats patients of all ages and ailments. Sports injuries, weekend warriors like me, chronic pain, pregnancy adjusting too. I've been coming here a bit over a month now. I wish I could say I've felt a lot of improvement in my chronic pain but unfortunately I haven't yet. Recently it's been a little better. However, I don't fault the chiropractors here and Swendsen. They've been nothing but supportive, thorough in their explanations, and have never made me feel as though I were on the chiropractic conveyor belt if you will, being given the same treatment every time and the same as everyone else as has been my experience in the past with another chiropractor. They go out of their way to keep me in the loop about everything. I only take away one star because the front staff has had some difficulties giving me straight answers about my insurance and what it does and does not cover. However, I should have taken it upon myself to call my insurance and clarify. I do recommend them highly but I also recommend you do your own insurance research. read more

I landed in this office by chance but am sticking with them by choice. I recently hurt my back to the point of not being able to walk. When I called Swendsen they were able to make room for me in their schedule the next day. They had me get x-rays before making any adjustments, but were able to do it all within the same day. I am feeling better than I was before throwing my back out. I've reached my visit limit though my insurance, however their adjustment appointments are still affordable, so I will continue to see them for maintenance. I'd recommend them to anyone! read more
