I would like to provide more context for those searching for a pelvic floor PT that might relate to…read moremy post. I was a patient here for around 18 months and saw 2 different providers, both of which failed to demonstrate trauma informed practice. After thousands of dollars spent, I would like you to learn from my experience. Dr. Caroline recommended a book for further information. I was told each chapter started with a story, and before purchasing, I wanted to know if there was a trigger warning as I could not handle any content related to sexual violence or a traumatizing pap smear. Even after repeatedly discussing what trigger warnings are and why they are so valuable, Dr. Caroline did not investigate the book for such warnings. I mentioned this to Dr. Lauryn later, but she had stated that she would not advise on or investigate reference material trigger warnings for future patients. Her reasons are unknown to me but researching those would be invaluable to patients like me and contribute to trauma-informed practice. Before one session my partner and I were rear-ended on our way to the clinic. Dr. Caroline did not account for this going into or check in with me during the appointment, resulting in me experiencing a pain level that was much greater than what we had agreed to. My partner was there with me and on our way home stated: "Dr. Caroline was different today, should I have said something? She was really pressuring you." It is important to recognize the ways trauma history and current mental state can impair communication. This, along with the power imbalance within the appointment, can easily lead to harm if providers are not trauma informed. Dr. Caroline and I set up a communication plan afterwards, but she was inconsistent in following through on it. Furthermore, Dr. Caroline, encouraged disassociation between my mind and body to complete hands-on homework assignments. This setback my progress and I spent several sessions with Dr. Lauryn trying to overcome this ill-informed treatment plan. After I switched to Dr. Lauryn, a clear indicator that this too was not a good fit was when she did not respect my "no" during a conversation. That stuck with me because if she can't respect my "no" during a conversation, how can I expect her to respect my "no" during a hands-on situation. My goal for my final conversation with Dr. Lauryn was to get reassurance that no one else will have the same negative experiences I have had. I did not get this reassurance and, unfortunately, that is why I am posting this. Dr. Caroline and Dr, Lauryn, I mean no ill-intent. You just have a lot more trauma informed education needed to call yourselves trauma informed. One resource I highly recommend is the School of Consent.

Since the clinic has new ownership and all new employees, they shouldn't be allowed to piggyback on the former business ratings. Those providers, office staff, and owner are all newer. You can't count on ratings based on all new staff, owners, and providers. They say they offer a variety of services on their website. All they do is refer you out without making sure your insurance is accepted. They don't like that you get your own providers. After years of going there, I received a phone stating I was being dismissed because my tests were all negative for a year. Wouldn't that be neglect on their part? They never called me in for a new test or random test or count. Pain solutions noted that I was very upset when they called me. Who wouldn't be if you were thriving in your life finally & just days before you run out of meds they cut you off. That isn't even safe. The safest way to go off is to wean by TEN PERCENT at a time. I was taken off what is considered high doses with nothing. I trusted my provider. She blatantly lied in her letter of my dismissal & never once warned me I was at risk of being dismissed. Instead she had told me the government was getting out of hand with pain meds. My monthly drug tests since July were oral swabs. I have Sjogren's (dry mouth and eyes) The swabs were dry when they told me the test was done. I expressed my concern for my dry mouth each time & came in for my last appointment ready to give a urine test for which I was refused. Everyone else gave urine. People who use street drugs (not weed. (Because that's allowed)are given a one time warning. I asked for a warning and would have skipped the meds that caused my GI issues a week before so that I could get a clean read on a urine test which at my last appointment I tried to do & was in early enough to get that instead of saliva since saliva tests are not accurate and I felt something wasn't right, especially when your mouth is so dry, it comes out dry. They didn't let me give urine because it was lunchtime. I was there before my appt. Requested the more reliable urine test and nope. It's lunch time. Others came in after me and didn't have that problem. They make you come in every month despite the government allowing them to write for 3 months. But they charge cash then say you can be reimbursed by your insurance. I haven't found an insurance company that will reimburse you. I was told that if you test positive for street drugs like cocaine (weed is allowed and promoted) you get a warning & a second chance. For 12 months I tested negative & not even a random repeat test. I held to my end of my pain contract. I went above and beyond in quite a few ways. Pro Tip, if a person tests negative for ANYTHING, especially on an oral swab taken on someone who has a dry mouth, the FIRST thing you do is RETEST in a different manner. I requested a urine test but was told nope. get a warning. I was let go for conflicting reasons. She did give me Belbuca, but not even 1mg. That doesn't help much in way of withdrawal & it certainly doesn't put a dent in my torn muscles I am trying to get fixed. Make sure you look into the "services" they offer. Those are outside providers who may or may not take your insurance. Or pain solutions gets a portion of their fees. Why else would they only want you going to the ppl THEY refer. Now I have painful injuries that are not controlled by Tylenol. I'm not supposed to take NSAIDS, but they were prescribed along with another med I'm allergic to and another I already take. It was irresponsible, a danger to my health and I still don't know which part of my pain contract I broke since I told my provider EVERYTHING. This is why I have no trust in the medical field. They literally had to dirty me up rather than at least tell me at my last appointment they didn't feel they could take care of me. There are many reputable clinics who provide pain management that bill insurance. This one says you can submit the bill to your insurance and again, I couldn't find one who will do that. I signed a pain contract with them. I held up to my end. They chose to break theirs end. I should have had some recourse

I was desperate for some relief with some postpartum issues. I consulted with another chiropractor nearby, but when I realized the cost difference to go through insurance, I came here. Dr. Kenzie has totally changed my perception and experience of chiropractors. In a short amount of time she has significantly helped me with movement and pain management related to postpartum healing. Here's what I really enjoy: 1. She pairs adjustments with exercises that make a difference. So, yes, there is work on your end to feel better - but it seriously makes a difference. 2. She takes it appointment by appointment, rather than another place less than a mile a way that wanted to sell me 3x/week for 12 weeks and re-exams every so many visits. Instead, I have seen change going every 1-3 weeks, but can make appointments sooner if I feel the need. Her adjustments are holding well for me and the exercises are really helping. 3. She bills insurance, so the cost out of pocket (or HSA) is significantly lower. 4. Dr. Kenzie is super friendly, caring, gentle and supportive. Her staff is friendly, too. 5. She doesn't waste time. My first adjustment was same day as exam and didn't cost anything more (another place charged me $170 for exam, made me come two days before adjusting me on second visit for another fee). 6. I was having lower back pain for a few weeks and physical therapy wasn't helping, so I figured I would try this just to see. I saw Dr. Kenzie. I felt immediate relief during the first visit. I just had my third visit and my back feels immensely better -- close to pain free. I was also having neck pain and she was able to treat that without doing an adjustment (I felt nervous about that). Dr. Kenzie is very patient and really listens to what you are saying, and she tells you everything she is doing before she does it. They have a very health-focused, general approach to chiropractic medicine. It's not just an adjustment. They give you exercises and useful tips for how to improve on your own. I highly recommend them!
