This place is absolutely amazing, I remember coming here as a little girl and being in awe of all the amazing treats. Walking in here as an adult brings back soooo much nostalgia. I'm a little hesitant to write this review because this place is a gem in the Bronx. Ms. Angela is a sweetheart and they have been in business for 30 years but only 10 years at this location. On a quest for chocolate molds which we couldn't find anywhere, as a last ditch effort we found Chocolate Place. There are soooo many types of chocolate that your mind can go bonkers easily if you don't know what you're looking for. We will be back more often for many other necessary items soon. read more

I really like this place because of all the creative molds, colorful chocolates and ready to buy sweets they have. I go here to buy all my molds and chocolates if i can. They have so many different themed molds from, bachelorette parties, graduations, birthdays and baby showers! The customer service and ambiance is welcoming. They are also very helpful and patient when asked about how to make anything. They are even willing to explain what materials needed to recreate the sweets they sell on display, too cool. I came in here a few weeks ago at the recommended of my friend, to get melting chocolate and supplies for my daughter's birthday party favors. This was my first time attempting to make anything with chocolate so I was extremely frazzled. Angela was so patient and spent a lot of time explaining and teaching me everything. I also had no clue how much chocolate I needed so I gave her a list with the # of each item I wanted to make. She portioned everything out for me and did not try to upsell me on anything. This place took me by surprise. Recommended by my once upon a time..who'd gone all out to impress me with teddy bear..chocolate covered strawberries and roses when we first met convinced me to go here to get treats for my mom and sister on Mother's day. They do Not disappoint. Yes, 20 minute wait on line.. which stretched down the block. Yes, present-day C-19 scenario made it a bit worrisome. But trust me.. wearing a mask and gloves was the least of the inconvenience. Standing behind folks who had no clue what they wanted was the most frustrating. When i finally got to the front, met by owner who was ... Willie Wonka come to life. Pleasant. Social. Funny. His staff, including his very energetic wife screaming across the room.. handing out dipped apples and packing gifts...all very nice. You forgot you'd been standing and waiting for 45 minutes! Nice conversation while i waited fuhr my two bowls of choc covered strawberries which were presented very nicely. Bottom line? Im a fan. Sorry Edible Arrangements... They moved, by the way... the new location is on the other side of Bronxdale Avenue, closer to Matthews Avenue. I love this store though! It's small, but clean and well-lit, and crawling with all the chocolate goodies your heart could ever desire. The store itself has the sweetest aroma of chocolate, and combined with the warm heat on a cold day, it was simply paradise. They have a large assortment of gifts, both of the chocolate and non-chocolate variety. It's one stop holiday shopping... not to mention Valentine's Day. Great place I have to thank my fellow yelpers, for finding this place,and adding the info online, because there truffles taste great, and me and my wife decided to use them for our son's baptism, and order 50, lollipops from them for this party, as the store owner told us, its and Oreo dipped in white chocolate with the symbol of the cross on it, for a $1.50, for each one its not bad. so if you find yourself up in the Bronx or live up here, stop by. She was very attentive, stepped out from behind the counter to help me find what I needed, and actually remembered me even after coming back over a month later and asked how my event went. The Chocolate Place needs more than five stars. I have been a loyal customer since before they moved from the location off of Rhinelander. I moved over a year ago & through multiple disappointing encounters with people who fail to grasp the concept of what a true candy store is, I called them. There was no bump in the road from the moment I heard their enthusiasm for me. They sent me multiple pictures of the pops that they made on the spot in order to select the perfect Baby Shower themed one. Recently I was invited to a wedding in Florida & went on a chocolate hunt..sigh. Nothing came close, if I wasn't able to purchase that 50 lbs of discs plus the necessary molds from NY I would have grabbed Lindt. The shop is clean, well lit and the owner Angela is a patient pleasure. A colleague of my husband recommended this shop, and we are so glad that we went. This is our new sweet tooth spot. The Chocolate place used to have a location right around the corner from where I live. They closed that location and only have the Bronx store now. Now I live about 35 min away from the Bronx and never have a reason to travel into the Bronx BUT I make the exception when it comes to chocolate! The chocolate covered strawberries are my favorite and the strawberries are huge!! Nothing compares!! And the choc covered pretzels?! To die for! My husband asked me what I wanted for Valentines Day and the only thing I wanted was a trip to the Bronx for the BEST choc covered strawberries! Over price!!! 6 chocolate strawberry $25.00 or 12 for $49.95 no way! Cute store to get molding to make your own chocolate lollipops but that's about it. If you can find somewhere else for less then save yourself the trip or just go to the supermarket and buy a box of strawberry for $2.50 and a box of chocolate for $5.00 most you'll spend is $12 and you going to have over 20 strawberry. The Chocolate Place is terrific! The owner, Angela is so friendly and her staff is, as well. Anything you purchase here is fresh and delicious. If you purchase specialized items, as I do, the work is excellent. I've ordered chocolate covered pretzel rods, chocolate covered oreos, lollipops and chocolate covered apples that were decorated exactly like the picture I gave Angela. Each pretzel, oreo and lollipop was done perfectly and put in a cellophane bag with ribbon. The store is very cute and most importantly, clean.
