I was stuffed but needed something sweet and water ice is a favorite so I couldn't and didn't resist. It sits next to a pretty popular pizza shop - Louie and Ernie's so I'm sure they get a lot of traffic. It was busy while we were there and while I only had the ice, I would go back for it. I want to first say that the owner of this place is awesome. She takes pride in her business. Unfortunately, the two young ladies that work there has made my last visit with my family a very unpleasant experience. Disregard that we were standing there and took another persons order that walked in after because they were alone. They were clearly showing how annoyed they were with customers walking in because I guess they had to "work". It was so bad that my family and I expressed how rude they were and walked out. Terrible customer service, not attentive at all and a very bad attitude! Family run business, the ladies working there were very professional & friendly. They have another location in Yonkers on Tuckahoe RD. I'm always here for the brownies and honestly hands down, they have the BEST brownies I have ever experience in my entire life (and I make some pretty darn good ones myself lol). I mean it's just this delicious goodness goddess of a brownie that's so perfectly made! Firm on the bottom for hold, soft moist, and chewy in the middle with what seems to be bits and pieces of chopped-up chocolate chips, and then the top is beautifully made flaky to perfection! Stopped in after having dinner next door (our usual routine once the weather warms up) and I have to say I'm disappointed. Only spot in the neighborhood I know that sells vanilla chip but today's visit has left me upset. I will like to add this is an Italian neighborhood and we are a Latin family. I Ordered our treats and was served by a woman I can only guess is the owner (usually have young ladies tend to us) well she was very smug, and seemed to not want our business. My toddler was so excited and said how we've been there before and not even a smile from her. After we got our icees we sat outside and I noticed the blinds constantly moving. She was watching us from the blinds! I had my son go in for napkins since my toddler was dripping and she gave him 3 napkins while there was 4 of us, my toddler's icee cup broke and dripped everywhere so I sent in my other son for more napkins and the male (possibly her husband) gave him 1 napkin. My children noticed we were being watched from the window and felt so uncomfortable they asked if we could just walk home because they could see them watching us. Easily a fan of this place. Conveniently located right next to Louie & Ernie's Pizza which in my opinion serves up some of the best pizza in the Bronx. Perfect place to stop in after knocking out a few slices. They have a lot of things to satisfy your sweet tooth. Ice's, ice cream, and pastries. Too much to choose from, but we ended up with a rainbow ice and some chocolate chip cookies. Both were great. Chocolate chip cookies were a bit on the cake-ish side though. Ever hit a joint because Yelp is abuzz with praise and immediately afterward hate them because somehow you feel like you've been led astray? And it's not Yelp's fault of course but you never want to see, read or hear another person's misguided recommendation again?! "Fools" you think. And you're left scratching your head, counting the numerous ways your money could've been better spent and thinking to yourself "I don't get it." I bookmarked this sweet spot the moment I got word of mouth because it was described by people seemingly in the know as if it were a little slice of heaven. Tonight is a beautiful evening. A perfect time to indulge in some authentic Italian treats. Yeah. Tonight, that didn't happen. The place is quaint although pretty tight. Maybe 5-7 people can stand inside comfortably and wait to place their order. That's not a bother. Like describing a home as "cozy" automatically implies its small size, the word "quaint" does the same thing. But that's not a bad thing. It lends to its charm. This was my first time there. Now this isn't some chain establishment. It's not like I'm walking into McDonald's with a meal in mind because I already know what they offer. It is one of the few perfectly acceptable times in an eatery to look around and take a beat to pore over the menu and think "Hmm. What should I have?" Everything on display looked so inviting. The more choices, the longer it'll take to make up your mind. So to have someone behind the counter appear unfriendly and impatient while you take it in, albeit appreciatively, is a problem. In life, a sweet shop is one of the last places where you'd imagine feeling under the gun. Seriously? An ice or an ice cream pressure test? I don't think so. Now, some time ago a co-worker gave me the gift of Italian lace cookies. It was my first time trying these and I was floored. Sweet but not too sweet. Buttery but chocolatey. Crisp in appearance but deliciously chewy in mouth-feel. A cookie so delicate-looking as to be called a "lace" cookie. A melt-in-your-mouth, sublime treat. It hit all sides of my mouth with such a blend of flavors and textures, I couldn't wait to get my hands on more. When I saw them behind the display tonight, I was excited to experience the same thing. I went all in too. Not one cookie. Not 2 cookies. I bought 10. I wasn't messing around. I also sprung for a coconut ice. First, the coconut ice. The appearance was appealing enough. Like a cup of marshmallow fluff. But the taste? There was hardly any. Too painfully light in coconut flavor to satisfy, not cool enough to be refreshing and too tinny in aftertaste to not linger in an unpleasant way. Into the waste bin it went. But this is the best part. The cookie that had been haunting me in a good way since the day I tasted it. This wasn't it. The smell of the cookie was as artificial as the taste. A piece of chocolate-dipped cardboard. I have never in my half century on this planet eaten a dessert and spit it out into a napkin. Never! Take that in for a second. A cookie so foul that your body actually rejects it. Didn't even know such a thing was possible! It actually made me sad. It's like having a crap time at an amusement park. How does that happen?! Now, I'm not a person who needs her dessert to be overly sweet. That's actually kind of a turn off. Too disgustingly rich can be overwhelming to the palate. But delicate in flavor it wasn't. That implies an intentional finesse this cookie didn't convey. In the end, into the waste bin 9-1/2 cookies went, to keep the only slightly less offensive ice some company. "Ineffable" is one of those funky words with 2 meanings; one good and one bad. The good? Incapable of being expressed in words; indescribable, as in "ineffable joy". The bad? Unspeakable, as in "ineffable disgust." Tonight was ineffable. The second kind. What words would you use to describe a dessert or even a savory meal? Decadent. Luxurious. Velvety. Delicious. Indulgent. Sinful. Delightful. A guilty pleasure. None of these descriptors apply. I don't know about anyone else but I never want to taste a dessert and grimace while wondering "What is that taste? Teresa's is legit, it is a tiny little store right next to Louie & Ernie's pizza and if you go in you will see all sorts of gelati, ices, biscotti, cannolli all of which are fresh made. Came in after having a slice next door. The gentleman was so lovely, altho I think I interrupted his own pizza session. He was alone and I understand he has to do it all! Hehe anyway I purchased a cannoli and I think it's cool how they fill it in front of you. I also ordered a vanilla cone for the child. The scoop was a bit overwhelming for my toddler but the gentleman was so very kind and offered a cup and spoon. I would've gladly paid for one but it was so nice for him to just offer. The ice cream itself was delicious and creamy. We happily ate it on our way home. The cannoli was delicious as well but it just crumbled up as I took it out of its bag when I was ready to eat it. I ate it in pieces and it was still yum but I wanted that satisfaction of taking a big bite out of the thing! (You all know what I mean too!) We will be back. read more

This place is a cute and homey dessert shop. Service is leisurely and may be a little pricier for some. But it's worth it. They fill you cannoli to order, have fresh milkshakes, a variety of homemade ice creams, sorbets, and Italian ices along with baked goods. Staff is friendly if you chat them up but not super knowledgable about what they offer for parties and events. Also on occasion there's an older woman who works there and doesn't know how to process debit and credit card payments so you can either wait for her to call for further instructions or just run across the street to the convenience store and use the ATM machine. They sell juices, pudding cups, and water as well. The smores bar is so YUMMY. It was essentially a smores (two) on a stick covered in chocolate. They sell gelato and ice cream of many different flavors. They also have cookies and I believe cakes. The prices are not bad for the variety of sweets they have. Think one stop sweet stop. The location is very far especially if you dont live in the area. But it is a spot worth venturing out for. Great spot for ice cream! My boyfriend had a craving for ice-cream. We had to find a nearby location since the Carvel on Westchester Ave closed down a few months. Only a 5 minute drive away from my apartment. We both got butter pecan, he got his in a cup and mine was in a waffle cone. There were many flavors to choose from as well as other sweet treats.
