The ice cream was delicious and they will let you get 2 flavors with a double scoop which most places don't! Adorable shop with everything from basic grocery essentials to one of a kind souvenirs. Adorable shop would 100% recommend. They have wonderful staff and an accessible building, I was on crutches and it was easy to get in and out. If you're in ten sleep this is the hot spot to go.

A small but very well-stocked general store of dry goods, local produce fishing and camping supplies and then an ice cream and coffee shop in the back of the store. It was perfect. There was a steady stream of people in the store, both locals waiting for the parade to start, and nearby campers looking for unexpected gifts or trying to replace a lost item. The coffee was good; the people were friendly; and this is a must-visit stop for finding a touristy gift, or some local goods, or an eye-opening cup of coffee. Small town shops are the best at catering to locals and passers-through.

Dayton is one of those blink and you'll miss it type of small towns, so finding the Mercantile was not difficult. Wonderfully decorated inside and out, calling the place a mercantile fits perfectly. There are some antiques as soon as you enter, but the main attraction for us was on the right. The two young ladies who staffed the counter area were friendly and quite helpful. We got a couple of single ice creams for the dogs and they suggested placing them in cups; perfect! We also got slushies for ourselves; watching the slushy machine at work was mesmerizing. Definitely a worthwhile stop if you're in the area!
