The tart was light tasting and the pastry was full of buttery goodness. Texture is a little bit interesting because it's a cold tart, the juice from the pears soak into the almond paste and make it a little bit cold and slightly mushy. Since we purchased some cheeses from a fromagerie elsewhere and had left-overs, we just knew we'd find a boulangerie to pick up a baguette for our 6-hr trip to NY. And, we were in luck once again at L'Artisan. Service is pleasant. French and English spoken. Price was obviously right. L'Artisan was picked straight off without even looking for it and didn't let us down. The baguette has that wonderfully crunch snap sound on the ear and my hot cocoa had substance.
