I've gone here several times and always had a good experience so much so that I referred two of my coworkers. That being said last time I was in I got a glossing treatment at the haircut. It was clear that they had overscheduled and couldn't accommodate the number of people that were in the salon. After she added the treatment she said we'd rinse it out in 20 minutes... 20 minutes came and went and she was finishing up a cut for another client and it was left on 7 to 10 minutes longer. No big deal at the time but now the backs of my ears are supersensitive and irritated. Also after the 1st wait I stood there with soaking wet hair by the front door waiting again for a chair to get my haircut in. Thank you for your response Tessany, much appreciated. read more

If this review was just for the stylist, I would give her 5 stars! Victoria was very nice and my cut and color look great (I gave her a mess to start with). The reason I'm giving a three star review is because of the salon itself. I'm not sure if they're remodeling or what, but I felt like I was getting my hair done inside a storage unit. Everything felt grimy. The floor was dirty, the baseboards, windowsills and tops of the mirrors were covered in 2 inches of dust. I'm not sure where the spa area is, but there's no way I could relax in this place. Second, the lighting is awful! I couldn't really tell what color my hair ended up. Victoria told me that if I didn't like the color when I got home that she would fix it free of charge, which is nice, but shouldn't I be able to tell what color my hair is while in the salon? Lastly, it was freezing in the salon! I was so cold I didn't want to take off my jacket, but I knew I had to. After my hair was washed I was so unbelievably cold. I was sitting in the chair, getting my hair cut, shivering. My hands were so cold they ached. I'll probably give this place another shot because I liked Victoria, and like I said, they made be remodeling or something. I had my hair cut by Tess, the owner of Chocolates, Cherries, and, Blondes on 8/9/19. I went in with full, curly, hair more than 1/2 way down my back. I showed her a picture of a long, layered, flat ironed, haircut. I left there with hair barley touching my shoulders, full of random, stringy, long pieces, and it was styled flat to my head. This was a $71 haircut. The WORST haircut I've EVER gotten. Not only was it no where near like the picture I brought, but the quality of the cut is soooo bad. I called to complain and was told by Tess that she takes classes for current techniques and that she texturized my hair for curly hair. Once again, NOT my desire for the finished looked of the picture. I was spoken to with disregard my concerns and left very disappointed. On a good note tho..... my hair grows fast. read more

I do not get my hair done here, although everyone I see coming out of here looks awesome. I do, however, get my nails done by Monica. Monica is the only nail tech here, so you can't miss her. Monica does acrylic nails the old school way - slow and steady. Instead of taking a big ball of acrylic, slapping it down and the drilling the heck out of it (and your finger occasionally, as I have experienced at other nail places), she adds little bits of acrylic so that she barely has to do any shaping at the end, and when she does she uses REGULAR FILES. That's right ladies, no harsh drilling of your nails. She does all her painting by hand, so if you want a colored acrylic tip, that's not going to happen here. If you want awesomely shaped acrylics, come find Monica. She's amazing. read more

My stylist is Victoria! And let me say I LOVE HER! She is very outgoing and sweet. Took the time to really understand what i wanted and needed. I get tape-in extensions done and as a former stylist didnt really care for the quality of the hair i bought from salon. (Especially for the price i paid) It had alot of breakage 1in from the tape bond... I called and spoke with Victoria and she understood my concern.... I wasnt able to get a refund but she did let me bring my own hair in and was happy to put it in for me! (Which most places wont do) So i was really greatful for that!.. Everyone i have encountered that works here is AMAZING! I would recommend this salon to everyone that want great environment and AMAZING OUTSTANDING service! Go see Victoria! Overall: The experience over all was OK. I got the service I paid for, but will not be back. Details: This was my first visit to this salon. I was in to get my hair trimmed and an all over color. The receptionists were very welcoming and promptly checked me in. My stylist Victoria took me to my seat within minutes. She asked good questions before working on my hair and understood what I was looking for. However, as soon as she got color in my hair she actually moved from working with me to continuing to work on the girl that was already in process next to me. I was disappointed that she was attempting to juggle two clients at once. As a step finished with one of us she would switch to the other. After my hair was washed, she cut it and then told me that she would need to hand me over to another stylist to finish me out. I felt like I was on a stopwatch because of the other client she was working with. I had specifically requested a stylist based on experience and got handed off to someone different before even finishing. This isn't what I normally expect at a nice salon. I even ended up leaving the salon with color down my forehead and neck, well beyond reasonable amount of residual color to let a customer walk out the door with. Again, got what I paid for, cut and color were acceptable. However, I did not feel like the stylist was working with me, but was instead moving customers through an assembly line and not able to finish up and even see if everything looked good for me at the end. Response to comment: Tessany - Thanks for the quick response! I definitely think it is helpful for other new customers to know that your experienced stylists, like Victoria, are not likely to give 1:1 attention. However, my concern is definitely not with working with an associate stylist. My negative experience revolved around the fact that the stylist I booked was overloaded working with two customers. I did not hear the word training or assistant once. It was only when my stylist ended up with too few hands for the amount of work she had to do that I got handed off. After being handed off, with wet hair, I never saw my original stylist again. I walked out of the door without my stylist checking my cut, color, or even helping the newer associate clean the residual dye from my face. On a personal note - I did appreciate your original comment to offer of a free service with a stylist that would focus individually on a customer. You did remove that in a subsequent edit, so I'm not sure if you were aware that your reviewers receive emails on comments and could be aware of an edit like that... read more

This review is for the amazing Rayanna, the CC&B esthetician. I first met her when I brought one of my daughter's in for an eyebrow wax. We were both blown away by the time and care she took to perfectly shape her brows. I decided to have a Microdermabrasion series with her. I am so impressed with her quality of work and especially her knowledge of skincare. I discussed having a chemical peel, something I've always wanted to do, but was too nervous to try. Rayanna put me at ease, talked me through it and her follow-up care was wonderful. My skin is glowing and never looked better. I treated myself to lash extensions with her about a week ago, and love love love them!!! Rayanna is part of CC&B, but her Skin Spa has a separate entrance in the building. First I purchased the groupon and when I called to make my appointment was told the groupon was not accepted on the weekends but there was no mention of that on groupon. I decided to cancel the groupon and make an appointment anyway. When I arrived for my appointment the stylist told me to have a seat. She failed to mention that she was running over 30 minutes behind on her appointments. I ended up having to leave without getting my haircut because I only had my babysitter for a short time. The stylist did call me after I left but by then it was too late. She did offer me a discount on my next service but I don't know if I will go back. I am impressed with the follow up by the salon owner and management. While I will probably not take them up on their generous offers, their follow up has been amazing! It shows that they really care about their clients and making things right. read more

Chocolates, Cherries and Blondes If I could I would have given it no stars.... I wish I had reviewed the reviews, before allowing them to touch my hair. I will never go back or suggest this salon too family or friends. Paid $250 for a spiral perm that did not take... before they permed my hair I was asked to sign a wavier, saying that it may or may not perm. I've never had to sign anything like that ever, ever, ever, ever when getting a perm! Thought it was kind of fishy when they had me sign it, but of course I thought there would be no problem, especially since they said she was supposed to be the best in the salon. Of course after signing the waiver and the next morning of my perm..... I had burnt hair, hair loss around my temples from too tight of a wrap. Some hair didn't even perm at all, when drys, it looks frizzy and no curls... just some wave (not curls) which are sporadic. In order to make it look halfway decent I have to use a straight iron . I went back today to ask the owner what they're going to do to fix it, they said; "they weren't going to do anything...nothing." They were going to do nothing she said, not compensate me half of what I paid, nothing ... Absolutely nothing! I have never ever been to a salon, that wouldn't offer to fix what they had done, or compensate me. They said they could re-permit and charge me another $250, excuse me. So I spent $250 at the salon for a spiral perm, that didn't take. Save your money! I'm so disgusted and upset right now... I am of loss of words. I will definitely let people know about the salon and their practices, and to not waist their money on nonprofessionals. read more

I have balked at getting my hair professionally colored for years...always resorting to 'the box.' BUT I got a living social deal to try a cut/partial foil/deep conditioning treatment at Chocolate, Cherries and Blondes for half price, so I treated myself. When I bought it, I didn't realize it was 30 miles away from my home in Tacoma, so I figured it would be a one time thing. WRONG! I fell in love with my stylist Nikkia, with the salon, and with my hair. This is the first place I've ever gone for a haircut where I can go home and make my hair look as good as Nikkia did--she gave me helpful hints as she went along to show me how to re-create the look from home. She did not pressure me to buy any product, in fact when I called back to find out what she had used on my hair to make it so soft, she told me what it was and where I could get it closer to home...knowing I live 30 miles away. I now constantly get compliments on my hair, not only from people who know what my hair USED to look like, but from strangers who want to know where I got my highlights and cut done. I don't dread looking in the mirror and looking for gray hairs coming in, Kia masterfully has foiled my hair so that they are hidden until the next time I see her. I happily drive the 30 miles every 8 weeks, and happily pay full price, to get my hair done with Kia. I have been going to the same hairstylist for years but she was so far away so I decided to try somewhere more local. Well that was a huge mistake. I had my hair foiled and she left the product in my hair for far too long so she could help other customers. My hair is completely destroyed. The only reason why I am giving 2 stars is because they did offer me a free Keratin treatment to try and repair it but the service was done by the same girl and it did absolutely no good because she rushed through it again to get to other customers. read more

I went there for 2 years and the best part about going there was meeting my hair stylist Ashlee. When she left she let me know that she had so I could either follow her or use another stylist at the salon. There was no way I was not going to follow her since it's hard to find an amazing hair stylist. The reason im giving the salon 2 stars is because the salon did not bother to call to inform me Ashlee had left when my apt was coming up. They pawned me off to someone who was fresh out of hair school without telling me. I found out when I received my confirmation email. When they called to confirm i told them to cancel since Ashlee wasn't working there anymore. They said that she just up and left that day. I knew that was a lie since by that time she had been gone for a week. I don't know about you but I don't deal with liars. read more

I cannot speak for the haircut/coloring but I would warn you not to get waxed here. I got a Brazilian and thigh wax. It was terrible. And I have had several waxes down in that area. First the aesthetician asked what I was in for. I said Brazilian and she looked scared. That should have been my first clue. She took TWO hours. Literally. I am not exaggerating. And there were several spots she missed that I noticed once I got hom My skin was torn up and blistered for days. I have never had a bad reaction to waxing and I've been doing it for years. Also the room was filthy and I spent two hours looking at dead bugs caught in the ceiling netting. Gross. The only good thing I have to say about this is that she didn't double dip so that's good. Let me first start off by saying that this salon is very welcoming with an upbeat and friendly staff. You're offered water, lemonade, and a few other choices when you enter which is very nice and unique. However, I was very disappointed with the two experiences I had here. My friend recommended this salon to me. I was excited to professionally get my hair done at a salon for the first time, since I usually go to my family friend for special occasions. It was prom and I was pretty stressed out. I came in and was warmly welcomed and sat down with a stylist for an updo. I showed her a picture of what I wanted (an updo with my bangs down and swept to the side, with loose curls in the back). It was my go-to style for special occasions. As she began, she asked to look at the picture a couple of times to make sure it was right. However, it was the opposite of that. It was slicked back, but had some volume that I liked. When she started to pin the curls, she called over another stylist to help her. I'm fairly sure the other stylist didn't know what I wanted because she pinned the curls tightly to my head and it ended up looking somewhat like a ballerina bun; the opposite of what I wanted. I left very disappointed and stressed out, and was upset. I got home and realized that I should've said something if it wasn't what I wanted, but I'm the type of person who doesn't like confrontation. I got a call the next day and was offered a free haircut since they somehow heard that I was unhappy with my prom hair. I happily agreed to an appointment with the manager in which the secretary said would take great care of me. I really wanted to give this place a second chance. I arrived and met my new stylist. First I want to tell you that I have VERY curly hair that I have always had a hard time finding somehow who can cut it correctly. I saw who would be cutting my hair and got excited. She was mixed like me and also had fairly curly hair. I expressed my concerns with my uneasiness of people cutting my hair because not many people know how to do it correctly. She assured me that she understood and that she knew what she was doing. I told her I was growing my hair out and wanted VERY LITTLE cut off... barely anything at all, maybe a half inch at most. What I got was the opposite. She did a lot of her work in a way where I couldn't see and kept saying that my hair was "uneven", so when she was finished, she put my hair to the front and 3 inches were gone. I tried to be positive since my hair was wet and it still looked long but when I got home and dried it I realized that my hair shrunk up even more. After 2 years of growing my hair to the length it was before, I was very upset. I do not think I will be returning to this salon again, but I hope that the girls at this salon will learn how to cut curly hair correctly. After consulting with other hair stylists, I have learned that cutting curly hair when it's dry is the best way to do it, not when it is wet or straightened. read more

If I could rate just Megan? 5 stars! She was amazing. I purchased a Groupon for a cut & highlights, and was a bit apprehensive about booking with a stylist fresh out of beauty college, but she was AMAZING. She spent hours of one-on-one time with me that resulted in the best layered cut I've had in years, beautifully placed highlights, and a lovely rich color just darker than my natural color--EXACTLY what I asked for. I'm so in love with my new hair! And I loved not getting passed around. The salon? 3 stars. The drink menu was great and everyone was friendly, but the salon itself was a bit dirty. Hair remnants and boxes of product left under chairs. Also, the lighting. I panicked at the end of my appointment when the lights made my hair appear orange. I've been visiting Chocolates, Cherries, and Blondes for about a year and a half now. I really love this place, and look forward to the friendly atmosphere and talented ladies I encounter on each visit. The owner, Tessany, makes you feel like you are the most important person in the room. Her positive attitude reverberates throughout the salon and creates such a friendly environment. You feel like you are just hanging out with your girlfriends. I have never had a negative experience with any employee. Everyone, from the owner to the other stylists to the receptionists, executes such a high standard of customer service that you don't get many other places. I love all the personal touches they include in their service. They offer several complimentary beverages including mimosas, coffee, and tea. Each shampoo includes a wonderful scalp massage that just puts the whole experience over the top. I also appreciate that the stylists take the time to explain how different products work and should be applied, as well as various styling techniques. Of course, I understand that when they are showing me a new product that they are trying to create add-on sales, but so what? If I find something that I love because they recommend it to me, I am totally okay with that. I have not had any service aside from hair cut and color, so I can't comment on any of the other services they offer. But if they are able to maintain the same level of service and quality that they do with they hair-care services, then I'm sure it's great. I love this business.
