Have tried multiple times to get someone, ANYONE, from the salon to call me back but apparently if you don't have a relationship with a stylist already established, you can't make an appointment (you have to go to the website and pick a stylist name and call them directly). If I haven't been to the salon yet, how would I know who to call to make a first appointment? This is just ridiculous! Too many other salons in town to mess with a business like this who clearly isn't interested in getting new clients. Unless you've got lots of time to waste on this process, DON'T BOTHER! Lee-Anne Has moved to CANVAS SALON - She is worth going to see her at her new location!! Lee Anne is one of the best hair dressers in the Seattle area! When I first went to see her my hair was so damaged and would not grow. She turned my hair back to its natural color it took hours since my hair was blonde and I was going back to dark brown. I have followed her to 3 different salons and trust her explicitly. I LOVE my hair I get constant compliments on how shiny, soft and beautiful it is. Plus I have been able to grow it out! I have had hair dressers who have studied under Vidal Sasoon in Italy that still can't hold a candle to Lee Anne!!! Have I said how much I LOVE my hair? Lots of really nice-lookin' ladies and it's just a simply-designed modern & hip interior. i forgot the gal who cut my hair (short brown hair, glasses, older lady), but she did a decent job (my regular hair salon lady being on vacation might affect my judgement). i felt pretty comfortable, she's a bit too soft of a speaker, slow getting tools ready, and the shampoo was ok. i've had better shampoo massages from my usual stylist in Tukwila. Over the years, I have had been devoted to other hair stylists before coming to Maria. I can confidentially say that none of them compare when it comes to the incredible precision and care that Maria provides. When you show Maria a photo of what you would like, she is excellent at discussing and communicating it through with you. She will also help adjust the style to your specific hair and face shape. I drive from northern Seattle to see Maria for many other reasons as well. Her prices are very reasonable for her high level of experience, and her personality is comforting and professional. Wish I could give this place higher rating because I had a great first experience. I schedule my second appointment for 5:30, which had been set for weeks. I got there at 5:30 and checked on where the girl at the front desk (who was very nice) said she'd let my hair stylist know I'm there. At 5:45 id been sitting there with out so much as a peep from anyone. I peaked back and the hairstylist was in the middle of doing foils. Not sure if she didn't know I was there, or didn't think If you are running late, at least let your next appointment know instead of having her sit there for 15 minutes with no acknowledgement. I was told my appointment was 530-630. I couldn't go past 630 since I had to take my fiancé to the airport that evening and there is no way the hairstylist would have been done in time with my appointment since she hadn't even acknowledged me yet. Went to the front desk and told her I was leaving. I also asked if my appointment was at 5:30 or if I had the time wrong and was early (giving them the benefit of the doubt), but she confirmed I was at 5:30. Advised her I was leaving and she apologized. Worth it to mention that I didn't receive a phone call from the salon from anyone after the fact, nor did the girl at the front desk try front desk try to get my to reschedule. I think customer service basics should be reviewed with the team. Disappointed because I was hopeful to have finally found a nice salon. read more

I've seen Este for a facial, and now Robin for massages. These ladies really know how to relax you. The salon is rather close to me so I like coming here for a quick tune up. Este is super gentle and lets you know step by step what she's doing. Robin is a miracle worker who loves what she does. Her 90 minute massages are worth every penny. She likes to talk to her clients so if you want a quiet session, just tell her, she won't be offended. I personally like it when she talks to me, she's got a great sensor of humor and tells it like it is. read more

I went in for a trim, chose this place because of Yelp. I thought I was getting 1 inch below my shoulders and wound up with 6 inches from my scalp. She listened to what I wanted but did not produce it. I love my long hair and now I look like a little girl with a bad haircut. I don't know how what to do but wait for it to grow out. I went in for my 16 wedding Anniversay to look good for our night out and all I want to do is hide till my hair grows out!!!! The stylist knew she cut too short but rushed me out of there so quickly I did not have to think much less complain. I will not go back. I hadn't had a haircut in about 8 months. I was way overdue. I was starting to look a bit like Alanis Morissette circa 1995. That would probably be okay if this was 1997, but the babies born in 1995 are now driving you know. I did some searching on yelp, and decided to make an appointment at Element with Lindsey. The person I set up the appointment with let me know that Lindsey only accepts cash or checks. I totally spaced this when I went to pay, but that was my fault. Fortunately I had some cash on me. Lindsey set me up with my apron and turned me around to face the mirror. She asked me what I was interested in and actually listened. Once we got a game plan going, she directed me over to the wash station. I have wavy/curly hair, and it's always a pet peeve of mine and a big no-no when hair stylists even attempt to cut my hair dry, so she scored points with that. She took off 4 inches of hair just as directed and gave me my layers just as discussed. I have to say she did a pretty good job. She also offered to blow dry my hair straight or style it with curls, and I opted for the straight option. I rarely am able to spend the seemingly futile time to flat iron my hair here in the Northwest, so I thought: "go for it!" She did a good job, and I left with a great hair style! read more

I stopped by for an ombre consult with Mistie and showed her a couple of pictures of what I wanted. She showed me a picture of her work as well and we set up the appointment for later that week. It started right on time. Without pulling any swatches or anything to confirm the color combo, she said she was going to go mix up the color. I initiated some small talk and was met with a pleasant enough exchange, but mostly short answers. She didn't initiate much conversation at all, not even to set expectations about the process. I had homework anyway, so I just started reading. The first couple of processes went fine and I must say I am happy with the haircut. When I left, she did not offer to schedule a follow up appointment or anything which I thought was weird, since I told her I lived right up the street and it's not like I'm visiting from out of town or something. The ombre isn't as pronounced as I wanted so I went back the following day to discuss this and ask if there was something that could be done about the obvious horizontal lines of color where the blonde starts. The receptionist stopped eating her breakfast to greet me and offered a half-hearted apology when I told her why I was there. They weren't able to get me in that day but scheduled a follow-up visit with me next week to make the face frame more prominent and try to work on the blending. Mistie called me back to clarify that there will still be a visible line in my hair if we do this because we are going from such a dark shade to a light shade. I did not have this result with my last ombre, so was surprised, and I don't buy it. I feel there has to be a way to achieve the result I am looking for, In fact, I've had it before! Maybe if she just held the tint brush vertically or something to blend the color. At this point, even though the touch up would be free, I don't feel I can rely on it being what I want. I'll be going elsewhere to find a fix. Bottom line, go for the cut and single-process color. Just bring a book. read more

I went to Este for a Brazilian wax and she made what is usually the most painful and awkward experience, one of the best and easiest waxes I've ever had. When I told her I was getting married in ten days, she told me to come back two days before the wedding and she would touch up everything, free of charge. Este was quick but incredibly efficient, definitely the fastest and most painless wax I've had. I'll be going here forever. read more

I have been here for a haircut a couple years ago and recently for a bikini wax. The haircut was not memorable but let me tell you about the wax. I saw Este, the esthetician. The wax hurt, not surprising, but what is surprising is after over a month I have literally no growth on the waxed area. Awesome? Heck yes! For $30 I think this might be the deal of the century. I like this salon. Went the other day on a referral to have my hair cut by Mistie. The salon is new, progressively styled and relaxing. No loud obnoxious music thumping in your head! I was offered coffee while i waited, which was a nice touch. Mistie did an excellent job on my hair! Love my hair cut! She knows how to cut men's hair and is very attentive to your needs. She gets down to business and concentrates on what she is doing with a friendly attitude and demeanor. On top of doing an excellent job, her rates are very reasonable! I will definitely be back. First of all, I am VERY PARTICULAR about my hair, needing it to be cut a certain way with certain techniques. My request: 2 on the sides & blend it up to a Faux Hawk According to the Stylist, she could DEFINITELY do that. First of all, a Faux Hawk does not = a Mohawk Let me say that shaving my entire head with a #2 clip at the end of my appt. was not exactly what I was looking for. According to the website, this stylist possesses "years of experience," which did not exactly resonate today. If she was unable to perform the request I made, she could have simply told me and I would have gone somewhere else. Because she insisted that she did, I decided to give her a chance since I just moved here & did not find a stylist capable of cutting my hair as well as my stylist in AZ could. The point that I was charged FULL PRICE ($30) for an extremely bad experience & a hair cut that was not at all what I asked for was extremely unprofessional & boasted poor customer service. I completely understand that she was there to make money & I wouldn't have mind paying the price for a Buzz cut, but charging me full price for her mistakes was unacceptable. If I really wanted the haircut that I received today, I could have gone to SuperCuts & paid $5. read more

I have been going to Danyel for a few years now and she is my go-to for a haircut and color, especially the color. Danyel has found the exact shade of brown for my hair that I've been searching for - for YEARS! She truly listens to what you want and aims to deliver that. For my cuts, I'm usually not looking for anything new...just something clean, low daily maintenance, and frames my face. I am very comfortable that Danyel knows how I like my hair to look that I rarely scrutinize the back of my head after the haircut is done (as I would usually do anywhere else). I might go somewhere else if I was looking for a completely different look to try something new but this has nothing to do with Danyel's expertise. This is the place I always go back to and for hair maintenance. The salon itself is pretty good. The receptionists are always polite and cordial. I believe it is set up that each stylist gets paid directly from their clients so the confusion would be that some accepts credit cards and some do not. If you buy a product, you have to pay for it separately because the products get bought from the salon, not the stylist. It's a little odd situation but I haven't been put off by it. read more

I have come here for waxing with Este for years now, but recently decided to get a haircut here. Based on other yelp reviews, I chose Lee Ann, and I must say, she was a great choice! I have thick, coarse, curly hair, and she knew how to handle it, unlike many stylists that I have seen. In addition, I am growing my hair out to donate it, and so I needed some shaping to take down the bulk a little bit, but not much cut off. She did a great job, giving my hair that little styling boost that I needed to make it to the end of this "growing period" before I cut it all off. Additionally, Lee Ann was a genuinely nice and kind person, and made me feel super-comfortable. I have found my stylist, and would highly recommend her, especially if you have curly hair. read more

This hair salon is very clean. Unfortunately, I was not fully satisfied with the hair color or customer service I received. My stylist was Tiffany and after I told her that I was not happy with the color as it was too dark and mentioned and showed her the type of brown I wanted. She did reach out to me via phone but when I called her back she did not answer. Since she was with a customer. She texted me and let me know what she could do to my hair. Unfortunately, I didn't like what she suggested on doing. I did let her know in a respectful manner that I did not want to do that. And I asked for my money to be returned and for her to keep her tip. I didn't hear from her back and I waited for her to text me or call me personally. She never reached out. I called the salon twice to let them know what was going and if Tiffany could call me back. But she never called me. The front desk person made an assumption that if i was rude and i told her no. That I just waned a response in regards to my hair looking the way it does or for Tiffany to call me back. I will never go back to this salon and will let me friends know how unprofessional this hairstylist is. I have been going to see Lee-Ann for my blonde highlights for 10 years. I've followed her to many salons, and so far, Element is my favorite. It's clean, the receptionists are always friendly, and the other stylists all seem to be talented as well. I've seen many happy customers walk out those doors! Simply decorated, clean, and welcoming. I really like this salon. They have a beverage bar with coffee, hot chocolate, and an assortment of teas in the front room. Also, they sell a wide assortment of high end hair and skin products. Dermalogica, Pureology, and Redken just to name a few. I have been there several times now and I see Mistie everytime for a hair cut and color. It's awesome to have found a hairstylist who does excellent hair, is easy to talk to, and all in a salon I feel comfortable at. Highly recommended! read more

Like other reviewers I agree that this salon has a up to date, fresh modern vibe without being overly pretentious. My wife recommended it to me after she tried it and loved the results. She came back with such a stylish good cut that I tried the same stylist - Mistie. All i can say about Mistie is that she Rocks! She is extremely personable and has an infectious laugh which will fill a room. Sometimes its hard for a guy to come into an establishment like a salon and feel comfortable being primped and propped (if that makes sense). But while in Mistie's capable hands those sometimes uneasy feelings slipped into the background. She's friendly and always a blast to talk too. What's even more remarkable is that she is amazing at her craft - I always walk away feeling like a million bucks. I even get compliments on my hair - atypical for a guy right? But wow does it make you feel good! Mistie is competitively priced and much cheaper than what I expect to pay for a good wash and cut. I haven't tried the other features at the salon & spa - but if they are comparable to Mistie in anyway, Element has nothing but booming business in its future. I got a color and cut done with some girl Amy Fardig which I found on Groupon. I thought her prices were reasonable so I decided to give her a try. Well the first day I got it colored and cut, apparently she "forgot" to give me layers. So I went back the second time and asked her to give me more of an edgy look with more choppy layers. And she did such a bad job, I asked her for the A-Line cut instead. Well my A-Line was more like a lopsided A-line. So instead of going back to her the third time, I called Element and they had an opening for that afternoon the next day. Thank goodness they were able to get me in for an emergency haircut. My appointment was set with Sharon Hedlund. I didn't read anything about her but I just felt more confident going there since it was a salon. Well Sharon looked at my hair and really saw how messed up it was, but she worked her miracle (skills) and did magic. She really understood what I wanted, and how my hair was. She also made recommendation for the side swoop and it turned out great! I've gotten lots of compliments at work from people I don't even know. I am so thankful to have gotten my hair done by Sharon, she is great and personable . I will be returning back to that salon. read more

I came here to get my eyebrows done with Este and I had a great experience! Este was friendly and efficient without seeming hurried. In total the appointment lasted 10 minutes and for $15 I felt like the job was well done. Sometimes, salons leave too thin of a line, which was definitely not a problem here. The whole salon itself was very modern and clean. I'm surprised I've missed this place since I've been to the Landing several times. It's located near the sushi place across from Shnoo. While you wait in the lobby they entice you with professional hair products and ads for massages with their new masseuse. Be sure to call ahead though, especially on a weekend to schedule an appointment. And like other reviewers have said, some of the stylists take cash only, so ask ahead. read more

Five stars for the location, the atmosphere, the services, the products and the staff. Conveniently located at The Landing, you can get your hair done by one of several talented hair stylists. I've been seeing Misty for a couple of years and she has been great helping me safely transition from blonde to cherry cola red to dark brunette and back to blonde again. She takes extra care to ensure your hair won't experience damage and it's always important to listen to your stylists advice when coloring. I've developed a strong trust with Misty and she hasn't disappointed. Hesitant to brag so much about her because I don't want her calendar to fill up too quickly! Like most salons there are tons of magazines to keep you occupied while getting your hair done and if you're going under the dryer, you can catch up on your HGTV. There is also a coffee/tea area in the lobby for your enjoyment. Finally, the salon does offer eyebrow waxing but I had better results at the neighboring Ulta. It was just a different method that worked better for MY brows. Be sure to check this place out for your cut and color needs. I have gotten my hair cut by Katie for over a year now, she has been fantastic! she does a really good job with my hair and gives me tips on how to style it. Note that every chair in the salon is independently run, so prices very from person to person slightly. Also, not every hair stylist accepts credit cards. The front desk girls are always very nice and greet you when you sit down. Lots of magazines and there is coffee and tea to drink when you come in. its a clean salon for sure. read more

LINDSEY IS THE BEST!!!! I have been going to Lindsey for years. I actually followed her from her last salon to Element. She does the most amazing foils I have ever seen, and always knows how to cut my hair. The salon atmosphere is great at Element, and when I am in the chair with Lindsey I feel so comfortable. We always have a good conversation and I feel great knowing I can trust her with my hair. I always look forward to seeing Lindsey and hearing her suggestions about how to do my hair. She even has told me she does hair extensions and I will probably get that next time I see her. Don't waste your money at Gene Juarez, go see Lindsey, she was taught at the Gene Juarez advanced training school and it shows!!!!! I also had the most amazing massage with Elena. Booking my appointment was great, I called for a last minute appointment and the receptionist arranged for me to have a stylist come in early to cater to my schedule. Kathy did a great job and did exactly what I had in mind and also suggested a few design tips to make my idea better. She's friendly, professional, and talented. Not only was I impressed with the service, but the salon as a whole. I understand that all the stylists lease their own space and work independently. You can tell that all the stylists work well together, you can feel an overall sense of comradery between them. First time in a while that I didn't hear trash talk or get catty looks at a salon.
