We stumbled onto this place and so glad we did. If you like chocolate, this is the spot for you. They have not only chocolates but other pastries pies cakes all kinds of deliciousness the staff is very friendly and they even have a limited lunch menu, offering fresh in-house made salads like chicken salad on Croissants or other inspired bread. I tried the dark chocolate covered peanuts. They were delicious. My husband had a cream filled type doughnut. I forget the exact name of it but he said it was really good. Not too sweet but just sweet enough. I'll definitely keep this place in mind for giftgiving. They had a lot of things to choose from including wine to complement your dessert item, as well as a small limited amount of Souvenir type things! If you like the European inspired pastries give this small but cozy place a try. It is take out only I did not notice any seating inside but there was a lil outside!

Cute little bakery/chocolate shop in Downtown Concord, NC. I got a pear tart it was delicious. They have a decent selection of pastries and chocolate. They also have food. The prices are good and the people are friendly. I have no complaints.

If you're looking for amazing, delicious dessert, this is the place for it. I moved to Concord this summer and require a few things...a good coffee shop (there are tons), good pizza (that exists), and delicious dessert, I have found it!!!! I have tasted a few things, key lime tart (my husband's favorite and theirs does not disappoint), raspberry lemon tart - AMAZING, Oreo cheesecake - delicious, and a few other things. The staff is always super attentive and helpful, always willing to answer questions to help you decide. I will admit, they are pricy. I ordered a key lime tart for Thanksgiving, a small, and it was almost $40 with tax. It came out absolutely gorgeous (I told them they could be creative and do whatever they wanted with the top) but we could do with a simple pie for $20. I'm learning to make it now because I can't sustain my husband's addiction at that price. I would definitely still order from them for special events in the future though. They also sell wine, which we attempted to buy but were turned off by the selection. It seems they had some average wines, and then some pretty expensive ones but not a lot in the middle. My husband knows wine better than me and couldn't find one he wanted so we didn't buy it. He also said they weren't being stored correctly for the age of some of them, I'm clueless, maybe for the cork drying? Who knows, but go for dessert!!!

Best pastries in town! Wonderful fresh baked bread and individual sweets to choose from daily. Excellent customer service every time I've walked in!. Amazing buttercream rose cake pops and sugar cookies. They also offer Wine and French candy as well. Anything you try here is incredible!

Every single pasty, macaroon, piece of chocolate or specialty pasty that comes out of their kitchen is OUTSTANDING!! My husband orders me a tiramisu cake every year for my birthday and every single one has been DELICIOUS!!

Beautiful little chocolatier/bakery in downtown Concord. What a great little shop! It was filled with yummy French pastries such as bread, scones and croissants. They had several cold cases filled with delicious treats which was a feast for the eyes and nose! The first case is filled with baked goods, such as chocolate ganache cake, apple tart and cheesecake. All looked beautiful as well as delicious. I had the chocolate ganache cake. The outside was enrobed with hard chocolate, but when you broke through the shell, you are rewarded with a moist chocolate sponge cake and a chocolate mousse. So good! The second case was filled with chocolates and truffles, all hand made and gorgeous! The third case featured many different flavors of macarons, in bunny shapes for Easter. So adorable! My recommendation is to go early so they aren't sold out of your favorites. I didn't get a croissant :( But I'll be back!

I'm a happy girl when I find an artisan French bakery. Inside the bakery, they offered holiday-themed pastries. I bought the snowman-shaped macaroons. Yummy and finished it all!

I went yesterday and got there about 12:30. I parked in 10 minute parking because I was running in. I had no idea what to get but I remembered a review on the chocolate mousse so I picked that, peanut butter tart, truffle lips, and strawberry filled truffles. My bill was $19.74 which was what I expected. Well worth the drive to Concord and price. All I can say delicious. I haven't tried the truffles because they are for friends.

What can I say? I'm a sucker for a great French Bakery, and Chocolatier Barrucand definitely delivers in that regard. I love it when I come across places like this, and I'm almost ashamed to say that after living in Concord from age 3-25, I only stumbled across the cute little store just this past Saturday. After a quick trip to the Library across the street, I initially gave Barrucand a quick glance and kept walking. But then about two seconds later I stopped in my tracks and backpedaled to the front of the shop, it was the "bon vivant" sign outside that grabbed my attention, so I had to go inside. The store is warm, cozy, and intimate. A selection of wine is found to the left and the rest is pastries and confections. Everything from beautiful macrons, hand-dipped truffles, canoli, cakes, and tarts. A few things that caught my eye were the Chocolate Mousse round and the Double Fudge Raspberry Cake. I kind of impulse grabbed a few mini cannoli as well because they were just so dang cute. I got them home to find my wife was too preoccupied to indulge, but that wasn't going to stop me! For starters, the Double Fudge Raspberry Cake is dense, very dense. Perhaps almost too dense, but very rich and the raspberry provided a nice sweet bite that cut the chocolate, which was as luscious as sin. The chocolate mousse is a technical marvel with an incredibly fine grain in the mousse, giving it this amazing smoothness, while still being so rich. The perfectly shaped round is then coated in this impossibly thin 'shell' of high-quality chocolate, and then decorated with a white chocolate piping design. The cannoli here are really special as well. I tend to steer clear from them most of the time because they just aren't given the TLC that they deserve to stand out as a star around here. Barrucand has definitely broken the disappointing Cannoli streak I've had lately. Golden brown little tubes of dough that have such a crispy texture, with an outstandingly smooth, flavored ricotta filling. They finish them off with a 'kiss' of that amazing chocolate. It's remarkable, perhaps better described as a work of art. Can't believe I'm saying this, but all things considered, they have Amélie's beat. Yeah, I'm sure of it, this little place is the perfect intersection of passion, love, technique, and flavor. I need more of this in my life, and while I don't get to downtown Concord often, this amazing little shop is going to have me coming back on it's own accord. Merci beaucoup , à plus!!

Love everything I have ever had from this place. If you love Tiramisu, I highly recommend having them make you one of the cakes. The staff is very friendly and accommodating and the prices are reasonable. I also appreciate all of the items they have in the cases, and seldom walk out with only the cake I ordered.

    better maybe get spare pieces?

Small but pleasant shop in the middle of Concord was the first of several interruptions of my quest for the silver ball. Was expecting to see the standard display cases full up with chocolatey morsels and confections but found several cases containing baked goods :-( Cakes, tarts, puffs, and macaron are fine and good but more in line with my understanding of baker-ing than chocolatier-ing. In the ensuing confusion I purchased two small choco-peanut butter buttons and a key lime tart. I tucked into the tart when I got home and am happy to report finding pale yellow filling smiling out from under the powdered sugar as key limes are wont. The cake-lettes spent some time in the microwave and when I got into them the following afternoon the peanutty and chocolate frostings were soft and flavorful on moist cakes. Who wants to pretend that I took time to savor the delicate interplay of scents and tastes, the mix of flavours and textures? and who thinks I just snarfed them down with a glass of cold milk and pronounced them 'small but tasty'?

The shop itself is adorable, the staff is friendly, and the overall experience is great. But unfortunately, the star of the show, the ice cream fell short for us. While the texture was nice and creamy, the flavors just didn't deliver. My cherry and peach scoops had barely a piece or two of fruit, and the flavor was very mild, almost nonexistent. I shared my thoughts with a local friend and, without prompting, they described the exact same experience. We're rooting for this place and really hope they make some tweaks to their recipes. A bit more flavor and a few more mix-ins could make a world of difference. We'd love to see them succeed and become a long-term part of the downtown scene.

Table tops were cleaned, but the seats were dirty at the booths. My son just got a scoop of chocolate ice cream which he really enjoyed. The strawberry cheesecake roll was suggested and it was pretty good. Just for those two items I believe my total came up to about $16.19, so definitely not cheap....
