We hired Greg's company (Pasadena branch) to install strand bamboo hardwood flooring in our new condominium. We were delighted with the final result. Sung took care to make his work beautiful, fitting quarter rounds and risers around all the edges, and installing elegant crown molding along all the walls as well. The stairs were a particular work of art, with many pieces of hardwood sawed and fitted back together in an intricate way. I've included pictures below. The prices was reasonable as well, and Greg was proactive and forthright in communicating any changes along the way. For example, because we live in a condo, we needed to glue in a cork underlayment. Unexpectedly, we discovered that we had a concrete floor underneath us, not a wood floor as we originally believed. This meant they had to put down two layers of glue instead of one, a long and laborious process. Greg made sure we only paid for the added cost of materials, and not labor. He also let us go through many different hardwood floor samples, allowing us to use our own vendor/supplier if we wanted (though his vendor ultimately gave us the best price, with excellent quality); and letting us return unused flooring. The service and quality was way above and beyond what we would have gotten at any big box store (which had been our original inclination). I would highly recommend paying Greg's store a visit. I was working with a contractor for a home remodel and the quote I received for bathroom vanities/granite countertops was much higher than I expected, so I looked around at a few places and ended up going with Greg over at Choice Granite. I reached out through Yelp, he got back to me very quickly, and even met with me on short notice on New Years Eve! Greg and Dorothy were easy to work with - I felt bad that our install schedule was a little wonky because I was juggling the rest of the bathroom remodel. I needed the tub top to be installed before the vanities, which made scheduling complicated, but they were really wonderful about the whole process. But since choice is so close to our house we ended up popping by one weekend afternoon and had a great experience. Greg was really straight forward about pricing and options and gave us a hard copy quote on the spot. He even called his granite source to find out specifics, availability regarding the type of granite we wanted. In my experience, they were unprofessional, threatening, and unfair. If you need proof, feel free to message me and I'm happy to forward you emails and texts so you can determine this for yourself as a neutral party. If you are still on the fence, you might want to check and see if they are licensed. My bet is that they aren't, from what I can find. In our experience, we needed new countertops. I had done my best measurements, but as I'm not a professional, I asked Greg to come by and measure the space himself. I was trusting his judgment. Initially, he was so kind, professional, accommodating, and provided the best quote from all the places that I've researched. I paid in cash for a cash discount, 1/2 upfront and 1/2 upon completion. He assured me that I would not need to hire anyone else except for a plumber to reconnect the faucet lines, and that patch and paint is not included. I understood and we were on our way. Juan came with his team, and they were very nice in doing the job. He had cut the parts of the countertop and put them on, and told me that the wall that supports the countertop would be longer than the countertop. He insisted that it wasn't a big deal, but I'm sorry but I think this is a big deal. Would any of you want a countertop that ends short of the wall that supports it? He insisted on letting him finish the work, and that he would provide a discount to get this fixed and that we'll fix that part later. Reluctantly I agreed. The countertop is complete, and there is a piece of wall cut out. I had reached out to some other contractors to see how much it would cost to shave that wall down a couple inches. Quotes were over 1k, the cheapest was $800, and some even did not recommend that we do this. Many of them said, that seems to be an error on the contractor that installed your countertops. They should just be replacing that with the right size that would cover your space. Juan comes back to finish gluing the countertop and asks for the remaining balance. I advised that this wall situation needs to be addressed. I call Greg to discuss this, and he gets very upset and tells me that they are not responsible for "patch and paint." He demands the remaining balance and got very frustrated and angry with me when I was trying to get an explanation as to why we are in this situation in the first place. He was so exasperated and frustrated with me, and said that he didn't want to talk in circles, but I never got an answer which is why I kept asking him why this was not brought up when he came over to do the measurements. He offered an explanation that these things are not found until after demo. I'm sorry, but our walls did not move. This then escalated into very threatening texts and emails, about he's done with me and that he's taking me to small claims court. I'm trying to explain the situation and come to a fair conclusion. I'm sorry, but I don't think it is fair for me to pay you in full when there's a chunk missing from my wall and it extends out further than my countertop. I have no explanations, and this is, in my opinion, not a "patch and paint" job. I was more than willing to pay for the countertops less the cost it would be to get my wall fixed, or he had the option of sending someone to fix it if he felt like he could do it cheaper. He demanded money the day of, or else he was filing for small claims court. I asked for time so that I can have some other contractors come and see what was completed to get their perspective. Was this really my responsibility to measure this and make sure that the contractors provided the correct sized counters? I had asked friends who were lawyers to look over our contract and get their thoughts. He was not having it, and my fiance just wanted me to pay him to get rid of him, but it just did not seem fair and I felt completely bullied due to my inexperience. Although he didn't threaten my life, he used threatening language to the point where I felt like I needed to go to the police station and make sure that they were aware. He knew where I lived, and he threatened to get the money "one way or another, trust him." It seemed so inappropriate considering the circumstances. If there was a disagreement, I was hoping that we could talk about it in a civil and professional way and come to a fair compromise. Unfortunately, I'm out of space for the review, but long story short, he sent someone to patch my wall (it is now crooked, imagine the wall coming up from the ground, then sharply angling in so that it doesn't extend past the countertop) and we paid him the remainder (less $150) just to end the suffering on both ends. If you choose to move forward, I truly wish you have a better experience. Please document everything by email (texts cannot be used in court) and do yourself a favor and check the measurements too. read more

I had shopped around and had narrowed my choices to 3 firms. Prices were very competitive so I was looking for added value. Greg was prompt with repsonses and quotes. I had gone to the Shop to view samples and compare them to my floor tile. As I was looking for an ecomonical way of doing this renovation, it was suggested I could save money with a different sink mount. The new sinks cost more, but in the end I saved only $50.00 but the VALUE was much greater - It looks unique and high end. My only issue (minor) was the day on install. I recently had my kitchen renovated and after shopping around for cabinets and counter tops I choose Choice Granite. The price for the cabinets wasn't the cheapest I found but Greg made his price competitive and he had a better product. Also his price for counter tops was better in most cases and the selection was much better than others. The process was pretty straight forward. After my research I had a good idea what I was looking for which made things easier on everyone involved. I did all of my own demo, electrical, flooring, drywall and plumbing. I ran into some plumbing issues after I tore the old counters and wall out which required a revision to the cabinet layout and schedule. Greg worked with me on this and things got changed with no drama at all. The cabinets got installed in one day by Gregs carpenter Sung. I would recommend him to anyone, he was very professional and a real craftsman at his trade. After that Juan and his crew did the counter tops, which was about a two day job. Their were a few hicups with the counter dimensions, but again Greg worked with me on it and everything got installed correctly, on time and in budget. I was very happy with the process of my renovation and the final product. Gregs team did a good job and I have already recommended them to a few people I know. A couple things came up (like any renovation) but they ended up being minor and got resolved quickly and professionally. We ended up with white shaker cabinets and a dark concrete colored quartz counter. I could not be happier with the final product. I should've done the kitchen over years ago. read more

I contacted Choice Granite because I had a piece of Caesarstone left over and I wanted to make a new mantle out of it. Greg was great and easy to work with. His crew went and picked up the leftover slab from the shop it was at (not their shop), and brought it to my condo; they fabricated it on site and installed same day; total job probably took 2.5 hours. They even demoed my old ugly mantle. Very pleased and would use them again. We had Choice Granite remodel our kitchen, master bath, and install flooring upstairs in our townhome condo. We were generally happy with how the floors turned out. The master bath was fairly decent - there are several small issues, such as tile that has started to come up, a lot of messiness with the grouting, and a couple of areas where there is no tile or baseboard in the corners. It was also very challenging to accomplish as the tile person showed up when he wanted, often late in the evening which is against the policy of our condo association, so that part was stressful. All of this would still be at a 4 star review for me. What brings it down to 2 is the difficulty with our kitchen. We trusted that they understood the layout as we have certainly never looked at kitchen schematics before. Nothing was mentioned about the two major issues we now have - a dishwasher that does not fit in the hole designed for it (when all dishwashers are a standard size) and 2 cabinets that we essentially can't access. All of the baseboards also fall down and are of cheap quality (they are about as thick as backing you might slide in for the back of a cheap bookcase you buy at target). I don't know what we were thinking at the time, but it was our first attempt at any sort of house project and we didn't get upset, I think believing it was our own fault somehow. After dealing with the dishwasher situation for a year, I contacted Choice and asked them to fix it. They sent someone over to replace one of the cabinet fronts that got damaged over the year because it would scratch against the dishwasher. But that does not fix the actual problem. We've paid to have several people look at it, and the main conclusion is we are going to have to redo that part of the kitchen. It is truly heartbreaking as we will probably have to pay close to the same price as we initially paid for the kitchen to solve the problem. If you decide to go with them, I would ask a LOT of questions and make sure they walk you through every inch of things and get things written down (we also had an email exchange earlier in the process where I questioned a missing charge, was assured it was fine, and then after the project was started was told I would have to pay more money). read more

We replaced old butcher blocks in the kitchen of 4 apartment units with pure white quartz countertops and have been happy so far. Working with Greg was incredibly smooth. He's a very knowledgeable and easy going guy who isn't salesy at all. I have an aversion to sales people and Greg didn't come close to conjuring up that feeling. His team did a great job installing the pieces in an efficient and professional manner. We had to adapt and modify the original order after some unforeseen facts in our old backsplash but we figured out a solution that Greg and team were able to implement in a prompt manner. I've been meaning to write a review for my kitchen remodel.. I guess I was waiting for the test of time on it. And I am definitely happy, specially when looking at old photos with that old yellow chipped tile that the kitchen used to have. Greg was great in providing quotes of different materials and measurements via email. he was promt and detailed in his responses. when finally decided to go for a kitchen remodel after a few weeks of window shopping decided to go with him based on his service and quality and selection of materials at the showroom (where service was great as well) The job started quickly whithin said time, the demo and haul out of old kitchen, then the installation of the new cabinets, the carpenters intalling them were great to make sure everything aligned and was leveled (since the floor wasn't) made some additional suggestions in regards to a window and the cabinets around (which was a great idea and immediately had to ask greg for those changes). the countertop guys came after with this big slabs, then cut to size, fit in the kitchen, which must have been hard for the backsplash in some areas, but at the end the look was great like one solid piece for full counter and full backsplash and the granite seams not even noticeable. There were many tiny chips to the cabinets, but nothing that a furniture marker didn't fix. Unfortunately one the cabinet doors wasn't in stock, i was notified when being installed that thw wrong part came in, but Greg was good in following up and when it came in send to be installed. After we finish cleaning the new kitchen (and sawdust and granite dust off patio) we were very happy with the colors, quality of materials, time-frame for work, cost, and customer service. read more

Greg gave us an initial quote and once we provided a small downpayment, Sung came out to measure. The final quote following this was in the same ballpark, even adding more drawers. He has great people working for him who are careful with their work. We experienced some hiccups, as is often the case with remodeling. Greg jumped into action and created solutions, even after hours. Our end result is stunning and already in the short time we have had this kitchen, 2 friends have asked for his number and are starting kitchens.
