    Pad see ew

Stopped by for a late dinner on Saturday night and they had about an hour before the posted closing time of 9pm. The worker was taking what seemed like phone orders over the phone so we stood there till he could help us out. We ordered: One chicken garlic fried rice - 3 spice level One chicken pad see ew - 3 spice level Cheese wontons Thai tea We were told it would be about 20 minutes but it ended up being a little over an hour wait. They got pretty busy after we ordered and we saw a few unhappy people even cancel their orders and leave since they had been waiting too long. There are a few tables in the back of the food truck and we ate our food here once ready. The food came out hot and portions were good. The pad see ew was good and well cooked. The fried rice was a little too mushy and had no flavor besides the garlic. I feel like some soy sauce would've done wonders. The cheese wontons were not my favorite as the breading had a sweet flavor which I didn't expect. The Thai tea was superrr sweet but tasted better once the ice melted. We weren't fans of the hour wait, mushy rice, and or the wontons. We must've stopped by on an off day.

    Tofu pad thai

My family and I stopped by the Chothika Thai Cuisine food truck on our way out of town. The food truck is parked right outside of a motel. Parking is street only. There's a couple of picnic tables, but very limited seating. No one was dining when we arrived so we had an entire picnic table to ourselves. My family and I all ordered pad thai. I went with tofu while my guys went with chicken and we all chose different levels of spice. I went with medium spice and it was very tolerable. The staff told us that spicy and above are really spicy, so none of us went above spicy. Our food was cooked to order and came out piping hot maybe 15 minutes or so later. They gave us paper plates and plastic utensils. Portions were generous. Only my son finished his, but he has a huge appetite. My husband and I ate about half or so of our entrees before taking the rest to go. Maybe it's because I went with medium spice, but I thought my family's spicy pad thai had more flavor than mine. Regardless, it was still pretty good!

Pad kee mow (with beef) and yellow curry (with tofu)

This is a food truck, so we got the pad kee mow (with beef) and yellow curry (with tofu) to go so we could enjoy the food in our hotel. We waited about 15 - 20 minutes for our food to be ready after ordering at the truck, and everything definitely tasted fresh. While the pad kee mow was very flavorful and delicious, the yellow curry left much to be desired as it was under-salted and lacking in flavor.

Can't say enough about how awesome the food is here. Mimi the chef owner doesn't hold back on flavor. Bold & robust & super fresh & definitely food coma after.

I'm pretty critical and straight forward in my reviews and I gave "sunset 89" - 5 stars. Was it the best place I've eaten and experienced -no. But for the area and our vacation - it was the best place we ate at. Normally: If this was a place in my hometown I'd probably give it a 3 star. Cost: The cost was a little high. But everything was a bit high in this vacation spot. We split the short rib bowl between two. If you are real hungry then it should easily fill you up but you should not share then.

I was going to get the Loaded Fries for my entree, but they were sold out of the short ribs. For my entree I got the fish and tots ( the entree is originally fries, but i switched ) My friend got the BBQ pork belly Bowl. The Yakisoba noodles were a bit chewy, the Steamed Rice was perfect. I was going to get the Churro Sundae, but the evening got too late.

The teriyaki bowl was tender and flavorful with just the right amount of sauce, and the galbi was well-marinated, juicy, and grilled perfectly. I also appreciated the Korean kimchi on the side--it was clean, flavorful, and paired really well with the dishes. We also tried the seafood salad and a few rolls, and everything tasted fresh and light, making the meal feel nicely balanced. What really stood out was the customer service. The owner is incredibly kind, attentive, and genuinely cares about the guests, making sure everything is just right. That personal touch really elevates the experience. We ordered the Woosen noodles, pineapple fried rice and basil fried rice. Our server later returned to the table to let us know they were out of basil - what Thai restaurant runs out of basil?!! So we ended up with just fried rice. We do not like a lot of spice, and prefer to let good flavor speak for itself. But in this case, some spice may have helped... The fried rice was super bland. Basically no flavor at all. $18 for very basic rice. The pineapple fried rice was exactly the same thing with the addition of a few chunks of pineapple. The noodles were fabulous and we basically fought for the last bit - looser got stuck with the rice. The Thai iced tea is a generous portion and helped raise our spirits over the otherwise unfortunate choice in restaurants.

With limited options and no fast-food chains in sight--just charming old-town shops--we stumbled upon Fusion House, a true hole-in-the-wall joint. We were greeted promptly by staff--who, despite the worn-out cushions on the seats (they've seen better days), managed to serve up a warm welcome. Ordering was a breeze, though the food took a little longer than expected--probably busy perfecting those huge, mouthwatering portions. When the plates finally arrived, we were blown away. The servings were so generous they could feed a small army--or at least guarantee leftovers for breakfast tomorrow! We went for the combo meals, which came with rice, noodles, an entrée, and a drink--at a price that didn't make our wallets cry. The food? Absolutely delicious. We rolled out of Fusion House stuffed, happy, and maybe a little grateful for the extra breakfast leftovers. Would definitely do it again--next time, with a camera, maybe.

This cafe is located inside the Sanctuary down a long dirt road. It's a relatively small building but given how popular it is for the lunch, the place gets extremely crowded and chaotic. When we walked in, basically the entire place was full and there were volunteers and employees giving powerpoint presentations about the animals being cared for at the Sanctuary. It honestly felt kind of like a timeshare presentation, but without the pushiness. Luckily there were still seats available outside on the patio, which has some gorgeous views down into Kanab Canyon. In terms of food, everything is vegan. The first table includes a salad bar with plenty of various toppings and six vegan dressing choices. It's all super fresh and healthy. The second table has the main entrees, which on the day we visited was green beans and jambalaya. The green beans are simply boiled until slightly mushy. The jambalaya is mostly soft and tender, approaching mushy, and has kidney beans, onion, tomato, and sausage-substitute (perhaps seitan?) mixed in. The faux-sausage is actually pretty good, being spiced like sausage and having a surprisingly similar texture. The third table has desserts - slices of vegan chocolate cake which taste and feel the same as boxed cake mix, moist and not too sweet. The last table has premixed salads. There's a potato salad that includes plenty of tender potatoes in a creamy mustard/mayo sauce. There's orzo salad that uses a really strong and pungent vegan cheese in place of feta. Finally, there's a spinach and fruit salad, fresh and tangy. All the food is restocked regularly, so while we were there nothing ever completely ran out. Angel Village Cafe serves fresh and healthy food for only $5. It's a no-brainer to visit for lunch while visiting the Animal Sanctuary.
